The property

The Garden Lodge sits within the grounds of a traditional house in the historic market town of Helston and is just 4 miles from the coastal harbour town of Porthleven.

The Lodge provides accommodation for 2 guests and is the perfect getaway being just a few minutes walk from the centre of this traditional market town.

Arranged on one level, step through the front door into an open-plan living room with a modern kitchen and a comfortable sofa, interesting books and a large TV for cosy nights in.

Bathe in a contemporary shower room and retire to an attractive bedroom with a deep mattress for a restful sleep.

The Garden Lodge is perfect for unwinding at the end of the day, a well screened from view south-facing garden is a special feature and perfect for alfresco meals and some glorious R&R.

Brilliantly placed, walkers, surfers, golfers, garden lovers and foodies will be more than content here.

Head out on foot or by bike to the beautiful and popular National Trust's Penrose Estate and discover Loe Pool, Cornwall's largest freshwater lake, before arriving at the sea and long sandy beach at the charismatic fishing village of Porthleven.

Rick Stein's restaurant has amplified Porthleven's foodie reputation so allow time for a delicious lunch and later browse the art galleries dotted along the harbour and soak up the laid-back vibe.

A 15 minute drive along the coast is the premier beach and surf destination of Praa Sands with its coastal golf course and a little farther is the seaside town of Marazion and the famous castle-topped island of St Michael's Mount.

An incredibly convenient location, the unique landscapes of the Helford, the Lizard Peninsula and the much-loved resort of St Ives are all within a 30 minute drive.

Helston lies at the western gateway to the Lizard Peninsula, a large area of downland fringed by a beautiful and spectacular coastline. Helston is a pleasant busy market town famous for its Flora Day Festival and the many stories and legends about the "Furry Dance" are told in the fascinating Helston Folk Museum. Nearby is the Poldark Mine, one of the best underground experiences in the south west and which tells of the widespread mining heritage of this area. Nestled in a tranquil setting is the National Seal Sanctuary on the Helford River, where there is plenty of entertainment watching seals play and feed. If it is thrill rides that excites you, then Flambards theme park will keep you amused all day and also has excellent living history experiences. Further afield is the harbour town of Falmouth to the east and Land's End to the west. Helston is a wonderful holiday destination offering plenty of attractions for the whole family.
