"The peace and quiet, only interrupted by the birds overhead and the bullocks waiting to be fed, was a real tonic."
After a very stressful year exactly what we needed.
"Hendra Cottage was everything we expected as advertised."
Personal welcome from the owner which was lovely and nothing was too much trouble throughout our stay, from extra kindling for the wood burner to guidance on local walks with the dogs. Lovely coastal walks and quaint coves within a 30 minute drive. Very easy to get to Bodmin, Padstow and Truro. Would definitely recommend a stay if you’re looking for a relaxing time and are prepared to travel in the car to get to the beach, towns or amenities. We’ll be seeking to stay again.
"We had a fab week!"
Erica was very quick to respond to any requests. Location was very quiet so great for us to unwind. Perfect for our doggies too. Thank you.
"Hendra was an oasis of calm in which our family were able to reunite, restore and rejoice."
Hendra provided comfortable accomodation in an old farmstead as ancient as the hills, with hidden valleys hedgerows teeming with wild flowers and birdsong galore. And definitely one of the very best hosts(Erica) in the business.
"Lovely peaceful week."
Erica was the perfect host and responded immediately to any enquiries. Thoroughly enjoyable and Dexter Dog loved it too.
"Hendra is a lovely cottage, it is set in beautiful and peaceful surroundings, and has everything you would need for a relaxing holiday."
It's central location makes it perfect for exploring Cornwall. Erica was a wonderful host, keeping us supplied with wood for the log burner and ideas for days out. We would definitely recommend Hendra and we will be back to stay bringing our family with next time.
"Erica was an Exceptionally accommodating host."
When the weather was wet and cool she gave us all the wood and kindling we needed to have a cosy day playing a family game of Monopoly and watching Netflix in front of the fire (one of my favourite days). The house was well decorated and very clean. The location was beautiful and a walk past the cows, to the old fashion swing in the woods by the stream is a must even if you don’t have children. Bring a torch and wellies and your bikes and a football. We’ll be back for sure.
"Our host Erica made us very welcome."
The cottage is lovely, in a great location to explore both North & South nearby coastlines (30-40 mins), as well as other attractions such as The Lost Gardens of Heligan. It was ideal for our 2 families, with a safe enclosed garden for our dogs to run about in. We loved the log burner (plentiful logs & kindling provided), and the extra (not mentioned) WC was useful for a party of 7! Amazing sunsets and abundant wildlife added to a truly fabulous stay. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, and may even return again. Thank you Erica
"A lovely cottage with all that is needed, facilities were great ."
Close to beaches and several supermarkets , owner was welcoming and extremely helpful. Would highly recommend.
"Erica the owner was fantastic, friendly and approachable."
Nothing was too much trouble to help us enjoy our holiday.
"One word for this cottage."
"Fantastic location for getting to both coastlines."
And a great place if you love the countryside. Will go back next year.
"The property owner is an absolutely delightful lady!"
She couldn’t be more helpful, friendly and kind. Not intrusive, but there when we needed her! The property’s beautiful.. so tranquil and surrounded by stunning Cornish countryside! The games room isn’t quite a games room, it that in no-way detracted from our holiday. Very highly recommended .. oh, and the beds are SUPER comfy-cozy!
"Hendra was great, loads of space, peace and quiet."
The dog was in heaven with all the freedom! The cottage was traditionally cornish and had been set up for holiday lets well with all the facilities you would expect including netflix and amazon tv and great broadband (and a downstairs toilet which wasn't mentioned on the details). Erica had provided us with a cake, milk, bread and eggs upon our arrival which was appreciated. Lots of great beaches and things to do in easy reach including the Eden project and flowrider surfing. My only gripe would be the details mentioned a games room which we saw no sign of. But overall a good cottage.
"We had a lovely stay at this comfortable farmhouse."
Erica made us feel very welcome and couldn't have been more helpful. The eggs, bread, milk and homemade cake were a lovely bonus! The house was ideal for our party of 7 and we all really enjoyed the extensive gardens. The children in particular loved sitting on (and even riding on, under supervision!) the tractors, seeing the cows and chickens, and playing with Ringo the dog! It was good to be near both the North and South coasts and we can recommend the Screech Owl Sanctuary for all ages - it was nice to have a booklet with vouchers giving money off admission. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay

Bodmin, the one-time County Town of Cornwall with its narrow streets, shops and pubs, is perfectly placed for exploring all that this fabulous holiday area has to offer. The outstanding surf, rugged cliffs and hidden coves of the north coast beaches and the quieter sands and river estuaries of the south coast are both 15 miles away while on the edge of town is the fascinating museum and haunting presence of the old Bodmin Jail. The popular Camel Trail for cyclists and walkers also winds its way through the town on its journey to the sea at Padstow. Close by are the open spaces and wind swept grandeur of Bodmin Moor while the incomparable Eden Project (11 miles), Falmouth’s National Maritime Museum (30 miles) and the beautiful harbour town of Padstow with its famous pubs and restaurants (16 miles) make for great days out. Also within easy reach and ideal for a fun-filled day out, guests can visit Lanhydrock House, the small town of Fowey and Charlestown with its Tall Ships, The Eden Project and Lostwithiel. There is a good choice of country pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area.
