"We absolutely loved our stay in Pennywort Cottage."
It was comfy and very homely. Nicely decorated and well appreciated the scones, jam and cream. Such a nice touch. The local maps were very helpful. One thing only maybe some simple start up instructions for the Range Cooker for someone who has never seen one or used one. It could be a simple sign saying set hot plate to 250, simmer 170 and top oven 200 and leave on for stay. Have this on the bench. We arrived in the dark which was a little tricky finding the cottage.

"A lovely stay with everything we needed for ourselves and our dog."
Pub is nearby (and lovely!) it is walking distance but just a pre warn that it’s not at all a walk for that someone who struggles with hills. The cottage itself was perfect for 2 and had everything we needed and kindly left a pint of milk and cream tea. If you have a long car you might struggle to fit in the reserved parking spot. We would definitely look to booking again! Thank you :)

"The cottage is snug and cosy but with the following drawbacks: The open sided staircase does not give confidence when using the stairs and I am surprised that it complies with safety regulations."
The bedroom is a little small and claustrophobic. Even after the rain stopped we would still get wet walking down the path to the car as the garden shrubs and plants really require a good pruning as they overhang the pathway. Parking in a narrow bay and having to either reverse in or out is problematic full. Somewhat surprised that the kitchen is equipped with an Everhot - if unfamiliar with this type of range it can take some time to get familiar with it to cook for only 2 people.

The cottage is extremely cosy and the neighbours are very nice and helpful with ideas for visiting the local areas. Very central for visiting North Cornwall only wish it would accommodate more people as we would love for our family and friends to share our amazing time at pennywort.

"Pennywort Cottage is a beautifully presented little cottage in a quiet hamlet."
The photos on the website do not do it justice and I was thrilled when arriving to find such a lovely place to stay. Lovely large kitchen with electric range which kept it toasty warm. Logburner with ample supply of logs. Lovely conservatory to sit in and watch the birds in the garden.Bathroom with bath and shower with underfloor heating and also a small ensuite in the bedroom. I will definitely return to this cottage as it felt so homely and welcoming with everything that I needed for my stay. Ruth was really helpful and welcoming and it was a pleasure to stay there.

The cottage and it’s surroundings are picturesque and It still holds original features which is lovely.
No noise from surrounding properties which is a great plus so total relaxation. The garden was secure enough for our dog.
Pennywort Cottage was just what we needed and did not disappoint.

So well equipped and cosy. Home from home,
Camelford itself didn’t have much to offer, a grotty cafe, and shame there wasn’t a decent pub to walk to, but it didn’t affect our stay. We just used the Co-op which was well stocked.
Lovely extra touch of cream tea and flowers on arrival.
Couldn’t fault the accommodation and would definitely recommend it, or revisit one day.
Thankyou very much for an extremely comfortable stay.

Perfectly clean, well equipped, and some basic supplies which were very welcome. Lovely wood burner in the living room that was sadly needed! Very nicely positioned 30 mins from Padstow and other walks / attractions.

"Lovely cottage with everything needed for a comfy stay."
The Everhot cooker takes a bit of getting used to in terms of timing but as I have a Rayburn at home it wasn’t an issue. It’s lovely to have the background warmth in the kitchen. We found the wood burner hard to get going - not a very good through draft - but the electric heaters were fine and the conservatory was lovely and warm as soon as the sun came out. Generally we really enjoyed our stay despite the storms and people in Camelford and around were very friendly and welcoming.

"Beautiful cottage in a quiet hamlet, scones on arrival was a lovely treat, just a small minor issue after long journey and wanting a cuppa to go with the scones, found kettle rusty maybe new one needed?"
Parking is big enough for mid size car our SUV just made it. ..My husband loved lighting the log fire and plenty of logs supplied and was needed as storm Eunice made it an interesting end to our stay. Conservatory was a lovely bonus and enjoyed sitting looking at the stars on a clear evening.
Easily accessible to local beaches and visited some of our favourite places Bude, Boscastle and St Austell and even bumped into doc Martin filming in Port Issac.
Can highly recommend the local Pub in camelford The masons Arms the food was amazing!
And the Peckish Fish bar although would recommend booking online as we had a lengthy wait.
We really enjoyed our stay with our fur baby milo.. and would definitely return to this beautiful cottage, and highly recommend this for a couples retreat and their dog.

"This was our second stay at Pennywort Cottage, and our first over the Christmas period."
This charming little cottage provided the perfect backdrop for a cozy Cornish Christmas - and we had loads of fun cooking our Christmas dinner on the Aga-style cooker. Well equipped and super comfy, we loved the new addition of the conservatory that gave us extra space. The welcome touch of scones, cream and milk was well appreciated, especially after a long journey down.

"Pennywort Cottage is a lovely place to stay, if a little more remote that we anticipated but it is a great location for exploring North Cornwall and all it has to offer."
It was comfy and cosy and the outdoor area was lovely to enjoy a glass of wine late evening, listening to the bees going about their business in the garden.
The fresh flowers, scones and milk were a lovely welcome gift from the owner.
Things to note:
We found it easier to enter the cottage via the front door (once we retrieved the key from the lockbox), as there are no steps and less garden foliage to contend with, especially on arrival/departure day.
If you are over 5'10", you will struggle to use the shower given the sloping roof in the bathroom.
The kitchen needs to be rearranged, especially the crockery as we had to get on all fours to get plates and bowls from the back of the cupboard. The shelves in the kitchen nook hold items which we didn't consider essential so a little reorganisation would resolve this. Also one empty cupboard would have been appreciated, to store items we brought with us, as we had to leave things under the dining table, which wasn't ideal.
If you're planning on using the cooker, make sure you read the manual, especially the time it takes for the oven etc to heat up, otherwise you will have lengthy wait for your meal!
In the bedroom I would have preferred some drawers for our clothes (specifically underwear!) rather than small crates. We had to use our suitcase for storage which took up some of the limited floor space.
If you want remote and cosy, this is the ideal cottage for you. We had a lovely stay and would recommend Pennywort Cottage.
