  • "We had such a lovely stay at Watermill, the cottage was was just delightful and made for a very comfortable stay."

There were 7 of us in total, 4 adults and 3 children and there was more then enough space for us not to feel on top of each other. The real charm for us though were Robin and Dee themselves, from the very informative email before our stay to their lovely welcome when we got there. It’s very clear they really care for all that stay in their cottage have a very pleasant vacation. When we arrived we had a host of goodies waiting for us which was such a kind and lovely guesture especially after a 6hour drive (with stops). We can’t thank you both enough and hope to book again next time we venture down to Cornwall (if you’ll have us of course ha-ha!).

Hi Maria Wow what a lovely review - we are humbled ! It was a total pleasure hosting your lovely family, we only wish the weather had been a little better for you but we are so pleased that you are considering a return. You will be most welcome. Look forward to welcoming you back again soon Best wishes Dee Property Owner

Property will catered for including all items needed for a lovely week away in Cornwall. Power points are few due to type of property only a small issue. Hosts, Dee and Robin were wonderful, very attentive and the advanced information highlighting keys focal points, areas /places to try and eat were very helpful and much appreciated. Overall beautiful property, so glad I picked it and would return if staying in this area again

  • "This is a lovely cottage nestled in a valley."

The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms spacious. The downstairs bedroom was a bit cold but we went at the beginning of April when it is cold. The overall cleanliness of the place was good, it was just highly little things like around the taps, the grouting in certain parts in the bathrooms could do with a scrub. These small details would not stop us going back again in the future, especially to use the log burner in the front room which have off a tremendous amount of heat and warms up the rooms beautifully. The kitchen is small but has all the equipment needed to cook with. Either direction from the cottage are steep hills to get out and explore Cornwall.

Thank you for your feedback, I am so pleased that in the main you enjoyed your stay. Sorry to hear your parents were cold in the ground floor bedroom, we have additional heaters under the stairs and also in the wardrobe if you need an additional boost. We did check that you had all you needed and your reply via email was "You have a lovely cottage, we are so comfy here!" so we were unaware that there were any issues. It's always sad to read that guests were not 100% satisfied and cannot retrospectively put things right but we are pleased you would return. Property Owner

Hi Sarah Thank you for your kind review, we would love to hear more about your score on the accuracy of the listing so we can rectify it if there is something that is not quite right in the advertisement. We do try hard to get 100% reviews and so It's disappointing to lose points on a review if it is something that we could have rectified. It was a pleasure hosting you and I do hope you will consider us again in the future. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was beautiful and every comfort was catered for."

On our arrival we were welcomed and the owner was very helpful with parking while unloading. Our welcome pack was very generous. However we realised that being in our 70's and 80's we will need a more practical place in the future and with easier access. But all credit to the owners.

Hi Anne Thank you for your feedback - it really was a pleasure meeting you all. We were disappointed to read your scores as we made a point of checking all was satisfactory and your reply was " we love your charming cottage". I am sure that had we known that something was not quite right we could have addressed it for you, it's not easy to address retrospectively. We were unclear what you meant with regard to easier access unless you mean the country lane leading to the property, if so, we did mention this in an email prior to arrival and gave you a tip of how to get to the cottage and the best way to avoid too many lanes, as we did on your arrival day too so you could notify the rest of your party. Cornwall is however, renowned for them as you know. Our cottage is booked many times with older age groups due to the ground floor facilities and we have not had issues so far. I do hope that you find something that matches your needs in the future and that you continue to enjoy holidays to this beautiful part of the country Property Owner

Nothing was too much trouble, and were so helpful. The cottage was stunning, decor very suited to the property, but very cosy and comfortable. Not 1 thing we didn't like, and will be coming back again, and recommending to friends and family, and have done so already. Log burner cosy, bathrooms great, beds all comfortable, and our dog settled in straight away. Good parking , very peaceful, and lovely little walks, had a fantastic week. Thanks Dee & Robin xxx

  • "We spent a fantastic week at the Watermill."

Dee and Robin live next door and are available to answer any questions (or in our case loan us a pump!) and offer suggestions but are otherwise discrete and unobtrusive. The cottage is really lovely with tiled floors and stone walls with an enclosed garden that our dogs loved. There's a beautiful little stream down the lane and the dogs very much enjoyed this. The location is perfect with so many beautiful beaches nearby. We had a lovely welcome basket with biscuits, scones, jam ea, coffee and dog treats, which was really thoughtful. There was also bacon, eggs, milk and clotted cream in the fridge It's only a little thing but it's always lovely to have hand soap, loo roll, washing up liquid and dishwasher tabs provided too. Thank you Dee and Robin for a wonderful week. Ed, Helen, Oli and Tallulah

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review, it was an absolute pleasure to host you all and meet your lovely family and the pooches. We do hope that you will come back and see us one day. Thank you for leaving the sunshine when you left and for keeping the cottage so nicely too . Property Owner

  • "This is definitely a lovely place to stay."

We arrived and felt at home right away. A welcoming package, a first load of wood and the bare necessities were provided by the friendly hosts and we were greeted in person. The cottage was well equipped and very clean. It's a great starting point for many of the attractions in the area (recommendations were provided by the hosts) and you quickly get used to the narrow roads. If you only want to go to beaches it's probably not the best home base, but if you want to see more than sand and sea the location is perfect. This said, we were at various beaches nearly every day, anyway, the 20 to 45 min. drive was always worth it. All in all a perfect 10/10 from us.

  • "A real 'away from it all location' Great communication with owners and welcome pack was a nice and tasty touch."

If you are not used to dog friendly places its worth noting you will notice they have visited the property before you.

Thank you for you feedback. It was disappointing to read your feedback as it is hard to fix things retrospectively. During your stay we had several conversations in person and via email and you have always confirmed everything was perfect; if you had informed us of any issue we would have acted immediately. The guests who stayed in the property before you had dogs and unfortunately, it rained every day, but we were thorough with our cleaning and luckily the floors are flag and the dogs slept in their own beds which had been removed. We checked the cottage thoroughly but I can only assume that as non-dog owners you may have picked up on something we missed. We strive to achieve 100% feedback from all our guests or to be given the opportunity to put any issues right during their stay. Property Owner

A lovely location by the river surrounded by farmland , animals, wildlife supremely peaceful and some amazing walks. Our hosts Dee, Robin and Milo were fantastic could not do enough for us and the cottage was super clean, cosy and well resourced. We loved spending days walking the beautiful surrounding area and cosy nights in by the log burner. A very modern kitchen and bathroom plus very comfortable bedding and sofas, and lovely garden ; perfect for relaxing after long rambles. Very central location, good for both coastal trips to Padstow and Port Isaac plus some beautiful local woods, farms and moors to explore. Dee went above and beyond to help (even assisting me in getting an appointment at a hair salon) and assisting with helping us find future accomodation . Hospitality at its best and a magical property! Would highly recommend!!
