10 Customer Reviews

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Grove Lodge."

Good location for exploring south west Cornwall. The lodge was well equipped and had just about everything we needed in the kitchen. Some better garden furniture and a more comfortable sofa and armchair would really improve the property. We really appreciated the cream tea and milk in the fridge when we arrived, a lovely touch.

  • "Perfectly sized cottage for the two of us."

Welcome cream tea was very yummy. The owners were very responsive in solving an issue we had. The trees around the cottage were beautiful and the location is very quiet (next to owners' home and other houses, but still very peaceful).

  • "You can't get a decent night's sleep due blinds not covering the whole window."

Very cold dark and damp. Sofa is worn out bathroom radiator doesn't work so wet towels the extractor doesn't extract and the bathroom has mould and alsorts of animals crawling around. It's also down 2 unmade roads which needs to be stated and under loads of trees making it cold dark and damp. Very disappointed really Very basic no nice touches. Very basic for the money. If your over 6ft the bed is a painful challenge. Garden not great either. Sad to say it's very tired and needs some love. Until these issues are done I would not recommend this to anyone.

  • "Lovely home which was very clean and had everything we needed."

After a days walking being able to warm up quickly with the log burner was perfect. Great location for getting to see lots of places. The only small suggestion I would have would be to have a mat by the back door for when muddy/wet paws or feet come in from the garden.

Ideal for long coastal walks, local facilities were great and the local pub is a little gem, we cannot wait to book for next year

  • "I feel I have to say I am very disappointed with our experience of this property."

Despite several requests and conversations the internet supply was disgraceful. The system was constantly crashing and in need of resetting and my wifes heart monitor system is in need of a wifi so I had to get up in the middle of the night, every night to keep rebooting. In todays world and at these prices I feel a good connection is the least we should expect and it certainly effected our holiday and the enjoyment of it. Further I was dismayed at the owners decision not to let me charge my hybrid even though I offered to pay for any useage. That said they were very nice in sending some flowers when they discovered it was my wifes birthday during our stay. Overall I can say the lodge was lovely and comfortable but does not now offer a hot tub, something we were looking forward to and should have been better informed of when making our selection. Gorgeous area, lots to do and see. But very sad that so much wasn't up to the standards we were hoping.

The lodge was clean, comfortable, warm and in a lovely location. Thank you to the owners for leaving us some scones, we really enjoyed them after a long journey. We would both recommend this place to our friends if they are heading to Cornwall anytime in the near future.

  • "Grove lodge is a lovely place to stay, I will certainly be using the lodge again."

The wooded surrounding is lovely, listening to the birds early in the morning and watching the sun go down at night. The building is kept to a very high standard, and is in the perfect place to explore Cornwall. Thanks to all for a wonderful stay. See you soon
