  • "Well the hotel /staff were great and our accommodation excellent however what is a basic kitchen?"

    All we had was a kettle and fridge freezer we expected at least a toaster so we could have a slice of toast or a microwave to be able to heat a drop of milk before going to bed. Unfortunately the hotel did not do snacks. There was no heating what so everrealy in winter weather so unable to dry any wet clothing. Most disappointing so came home on Tuesday and both of us have been ill ever since so at best a refund of some kind would be expected. We have never been let down by Sykes before and we have been using Sykes for years.

  • "We really enjoyed our short stay in the Annex of The Cottage, the only thing that was missing during our stay was a microwave, I mentioned this to the owners and they said they would rectify this."

    It would have been nice to have had some allocated parking but it didn't detract from our stay.

Pensilva is a moorland village with its origins in Cornwall’s tin mining history. This part of Bodmin Moor has all the raw beauty of a wilderness with many well known landmarks including the rugged Cheesewring Quarry, where granite was taken to build Plymouth’s Devonport Dockyard, and also the remote village of Minions, home of the famous Hurlers stone circles. Further west there are spectacular walks to Rough Tor and Brown Willy. There are a host of watersports available at nearby Siblyback Reservoir which is also an excellent spot for fishing. The market town of Liskeard is close by, while the famous fishing port of Looe on the south Cornwall coast is approximately 14 miles away and other noted coastal beauty spots such as Polperro and Fowey are all within close proximity.
