  • "We stayed here over Christmas and we absolutely loved it."

The bungalow is beautiful, homely and equipped with everything you need! A nice, short walk to the beach, friendly neighbours around and the little goodies on arrival were an extra special treat! Our dogs loved the garden as well. Thank you for a lovely break! :)

  • "This property exceeded our expectations."

We were a family of 5 + our dog and the property was extremely spacious and comfortable. It was in an ideal location for walking our dog (several minutes down to the beach) and a good base for touring the whole of Cornwall. The property was "kitted out" with items of good quality which was a surprise considering it was a rental holiday home. We stayed in October (half term) but I would imagine this would be a fantastic place to stay in the Summer as well. The garden was well equipped and designed for outdoor BBQ's and relaxation. We will definitely return in the future

  • "The property is situated away from any hassle and bustle of other holiday makers, which is great if you want a quiet and relaxing evening after a busy day."

The property is very well furnished, and clean throughout. All appliances worked as expected, and there’s was everything you needed. If there was one thing I would ask for. It would be for at least one radiator to help dry any washing that had been required during the stay, as kids will be kids. Apart from that a very thing was great, and I would certainly recommend the property to friends and family.

Hi I am glad you enjoyed your stay. There is a heated towel rail permanently on in the bathroom (unless the spur switch labelled in hallway was turned off by previous guests) and the property radiators will come on first thing in the morning until just before lunchtime and from 4pm all evening if you turn the thermostat on hall wall to over 20 degrees. Thanks again. Beverley. (The owner) Property Owner

The property was everything we expected with plenty of room for the family. It was very well maintained, the garden was really pleasant with lots of seating areas and also a rotary drier in a secluded area, good for drying the washing. Terry the neighbour was very friendly. We also benefited from 2 weeks of beautiful weather.

Superb location and is a great for exploring the rest of Cornwall. The beautiful beach is 5 minutes walk and is perfect for running the dog, followed by a coffee at the Gull Rocks Bar. The cottage was very clean and well provisioned, and if you have a fury friend the back garden is spacious and very secure. One final mention for the neighbour (Terry I think) very friendly, made us feel at home. Would definitely recommend this cottage and hopefully we will be going back soon.

  • "This was our third visit to this wonderful property over a period of approx."

3 years and it didn’t fail this time, from the first!!! We spent Christmas here and the owners supplied a lovely tree for the hall and one in the lounge which was fabulous, thank you! I cooked a lovely Christmas dinner due to the fantastic facilities in this property too! Beds sooooo comfortable and we slept very well. I didn’t get a chance to say hi to Terry (next door) when he called with Christmas gifts from the owner for us and our pooch Marley, which was extremely thoughtful and kind. The scones, jam and cream were also a great addition. I would give this property a Michelin star if there was one available as it’s so comfortable with up-to-date furnishings, facilities and well presented garden. Everything was spotlessly clean and there are electric ‘smelliest so, the rooms are always fresh. Dog bowels are supplied so, don’t worry about packing these. Selfishly, I didn’t want to review so highly as it will generate more interest in this property making it more difficult to book however, credit to the owners as they have put their heart and soul into this property! Only one bug bear! I had a question regarding Christmas at the property therefore contacted Sykes who told me to call the property management company. Talk about pass the buck as it’s Sykes who take our payment and THEY should have called them! The property management company were less than helpful when I tried to contact. At first I received a text to say they would call back, and didn’t! I made three calls before leaving, which were ignored. I called again when we arrived as we were a little early and the weather was very bad. I asked if we could enter the property approx. 30 minutes earlier to be told they would contact the cleaners to see if they had finished. I heard NOTHING and I was also spoken to rather curtly! We arrived at the property twenty minutes early and low and behold, it was ready! A big thank you to the cleaners. I think the owners maybe need to speak to their property management company as I found their customer service poor. Thank you to the owners as your property is fantastic which made our Christmas holiday, wonderful! If I was fortunate to win the lottery, I would make them a very good offer1 :)

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We should employ you to be our head of marketing!! Property Owner

Heating timing during winter turns off far too early house goes cold very quickly, a lot of does and do nots Labels everywhere very off putting And the curtain twitching next door watching the house

Dear Guest Sorry to hear you were cold in the afternoon. The heating had returned to summer mode which means it goes off in the afternoon. I know the management company contacted you directly a couple of days into your stay to check and asked you specifically about the heating as there had been a short power cut in the area. They said you replied you were fine and not to come into the property until after you left on the Saturday. On the other note, sorry, if you thought that way about my lovely next-door neighbours. You are the first guests in 4 years who have ever felt that way. The Owner Property Owner

We did have a few problems while we stayed which we reported to the maintenance team, so hopefully they will be fixed. The kitchen light switch, the onsuite extractor fan, the heating did not come on till late and the door bell didn't work. Im only telling you this incase you haven't been told, otherwise a great stay

Dear Guest The doorbell had been turned off at the switch in the hallway for some reason. There was a sticker on it saying not to. Once turned back on is now working . The en-suite extractor fan was working and tested. I know it is very quiet but tested and fine. The dimmer switch button had been broken and has now been fixed. Many thanks The Owner. Property Owner

Very well equipped with everything you would need. This is our 3rd visit and are already booked for next year. We did have a few issues this visit. We were unable to use the freezer as two off the drawers were broken. One off the sofas need attention as the stuffing in the back seems to have fallen out one end. Drain smell in shower room.

Hi Christine. Thanks for your feedback. You’ll be pleased to know the freezer has been replaced with a brand new one. Sofa specialist has repaired the sofa cushion and the shower problem has been sorted and was because a previous guest had put wipes down the toilet when the sign above clearly said not to. It has everything you could possibly need for a great stay including dog bowls, every kitchen utensil possible, and soaps, towels, even kitchen roll! We can’t thank the owner enough for making our stay so fantastic as the weather was not good and couldn’t get out as much as we’d like to! The super king bed was extremely comfortable as we’d stayed in the king size last time (which was also very comfortable)! We are returning to spend Christmas there and hope there will be a tree but if not, we will still enjoy it as we have arranged to go out with the lovely neighbours, Terry and Jean who have lived there for 33 years! The website for this property is great but, be prepared to be even more pleased with your choice as it is truly lovely. The only little thing it could have done with is a small cupboard in the kitchen for a few groceries, although this is not a deal breaker! I would still highly recommend this property and look forward to staying at Holywell Bay View next year

Property was very clean and well stocked. The only thing missing ( or we couldn’t find it) was a proper indoor broom. We found the dustpan and brush but a broom would have helped for the hard floors. The vacuum had not been emptied prior to our arrival either, not a massive issue, we emptied it. The only negative is the lack of storage for food. We really struggled to find places to unpack our bread, cereal, drinks etc to. Having said all of that, the neighbour was lovely I loved the property and would return, thankyou!

  • "This bungalow is a 5 star property in a great location, with the Treguth Inn with in easy walking distance and a fantastic beach just a little bit further, its just great."

Being so close to the costal path there's miles to walk or just rest up on the beach, its up to you. Your return walk back is uphill quite steep in places but the walk saves you the parking fees £10 a day, so yes worth the walk. We did have a problem when we arrived as the property needed cleaning which my wife did [against my wishes, as I was going to ask the owner to come and do it], There was finger nails on the table near the Ipod player, and black mould in the walk in shower, dog hair on the bed spread. After running the hover round it needed emptying, so that hadn't been used recently. Giving the recently covid conditions Id expected better So in hindsight yes a great property in a fantastic location but needs some TLC and a good clean weekly

I am so sorry the cleaner and management company didn't clean the property properly. This hasn't happened before. We have spoken to ensure this never happens again. We will speak to Sykes as all guests are not allowed dogs in bedrooms. We will ensure this also doesn't happen again and if it does the cleaner is to report it to me, Management Company and Sykes to get it rectified asap. Unfortunately most coastal areas in Cornwall are hilly and walks to the beaches involve a small hill.nd wa The Owner. Property Owner

The property was much bigger than we expected with 3 bathrooms in total one for each bedroom. The property is furnished to a high standard and was very clean and presentable. The garden was large with 3 seating areas, all potential sun traps and plenty of room for the dog to run around. The only downside, was that there was no space in any of the kitchen cupboards to put any cereals, tins etc, it all had to be left out on the work top. Fortunately there was only the two of us and the dog, for larger groups this would a potential problem in our opinion. We would certainly book again, and hope that future users will treat it with respect, so that it continues to impress.

Just five miles away is Newquay, the home of the UK’s surf scene, boasting three major beaches, the National Surf Centre and an endless supply of rolling surf, making it a watersports paradise! The town, with its shopping centre, zoo, sea life centre and varied selection of restaurants and pubs, also promises a holiday to remember. If you seek more, the South West Coast Path passes in both directions along a stunning coastline of high cliffs, hidden coves and yet more beaches.
