"Lovely little holiday let, spacious and homely."
Great views and close to areas of interest. Having a swimming pool on site was excellent and we took full advantage. The only slight issue was the parking but we had been warned about this in the welcome pack so it didn’t detract from the overall stay.
The owners were lovely very approachable and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

"We stayed here over feb half term and got a really good price, considering what half term usually costs in general."
So we booked based on this fact.
Considering it was a 5 hour drive almost, I don’t think we’d be returning unless the property and general site was to be renovated. There needs to a fair amount of work done to the cottage itself, but some really basic changes could make such a difference to the overall appearance.
We left early as it was just quite stressful with 2 younger ones and trying to get them to sleep at a reasonable time with the constant noise from floorboards and stairs.
Good Points
* Comfortable beds
* Owners seem lovely & responsive - offered to look at shower when reported.
* Cost for half term seemed really good value for money.
* Lounge TV - excellent quality
* WiFi
* Stream - lovely sound of water
* Pool - Better than expected and included in cost

"Great place."
Parking even in October was a bit of a nightmare but it was a small issue. Everything was about an hour away for attractions which I thought was good.

"Great lodge, really well equiped and extremely clean."
Great location - for exploring the countryside, with Bude to The North and Looe to the south easliy accesible in less than an hour,
Indoor and outdoor pool great for the children - very warm and when we were there, certainly not busy.
The beds were comfortable and the location at the bottom of the hill with the stream adjoining was very tranquil and peaceful even though the other lodges were occupied.
The owners were very helpful and responded quickly to emails.
Perfect for a break away from the busier coastal resorts but with facilities on site. We had a visit to Dartmoor prison museum - which was a very interesting experience together with the drive over the moor which was a fantastic landscape.
The site is open all year so well worth a trip off season for some exploring.
Only minor recommendation would be for the gym to be updated with a few more machines.
looking forward to our next visit.

"The accommodation was freezing cold when we got there and stank of curry."
We had to have the windows open for the entirety of our stay despite buying copious amounts of air freshener and a candle to mask the smell of curry. Also the facilities available were not as described, it says in your listing that there is a sauna and after enquiring they haven't had one for 6 years. Also the outdoor heated pool was not open during our stay even though it was meant to be and tge games room was also not in use.

The owners were very quick to replace a broken shower head at the beginning of our stay. We enjoyed sitting on the veranda for most of our meals, enjoying the sunshine.

"Had a lovely relaxing break."
The accommodation was as it said. The amenities of indoor pool and games room kept my boy's busy. The outdoor pool was closed due to time of year. Was more of a cosy relaxing break where we could take our dog. Would definitely recommend.

"We loved Cairnside, it was spotlessly clean and comfortable with lovely soft sofas ideal for relaxing on and comfortable beds."
The furnishings exceeded our expectations for a holiday lodge, was more like a home from home than a holiday rental. There was everything we needed in the kitchen, not that we did much cooking but had we wished to all the utensils were there.
Phil even offered to put up a stairgate for us, not that we needed it as baby was only 8 months old but we really appreciated the gesture, and a lovely touch to find milk, apple juice and biscuits waiting for us on arrival.
Would we recommend Cairnside, certainly without reservation, would we go there again yes we would. Is without doubt the best equipped holiday home we have stayed in.

"The personal touch of the owners of the lodge."
When we arrived, there was a nice bottle of applejuce from the area with a personal card and some milk and lunch in the fridge. That makes you feel welcome! The owners are quick to get in touch when you have any questions. The information they give about the park, the lodge, the facilities and what you can do in the surroundings are fab.
We had a great time in Cornwall!

"This holiday was fantastic!"
Whilst it was a drive to most places it was no longer than and hour and a half to the main towns like st ives! The cottage was presented lovely and in a great location with a lovely balcony and running stream alongside. The pool and gym facilities and pub restaurant on site were lovely and the owners very friendly. I would definitely book this cottage again and book through Sykes. The only thing I wish they had was a washing machine or cleaners so that we could get clean towels and wouldn’t need to go to the laundrette on holiday. They have a dish washer but I think most people especially with children like myself would appreciate a washing machine. This was the only gripe and I would take more towels next time and more clothes. Overall loved this holiday so much and would highly recommend 42 valley lodge cottage on Honicombe valley park
