  • "Positives- - The owners have thought of everything in the kitchen needed to cook - the decor and bedding is lovely - The lodge sits on beautiful countryside and is quite remote - Once we worked out how to use the online booking the pools it was easy and never fully booked Negatives- - The lodge downstairs always smells of damp as soon as you have a shower nothing ever dries."

The lodge doesn't seem to get any sun so even on days when it was very sunny (August) the towels were damp. - the information in the welcome booklet was wrong and meant we missed out on booking the pool the first day we arrived - the onsite pool and play parks were handy but basic and at times unclean We enjoyed aspects of this holiday but by day 5 we'd had enough and left a day early. I think with children this lodge is difficult. We won't be returning.

  • "We had a fantastic week, the lodge is beautifully decorated and very comfortable."

Everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Excellent location for exploring the local area, Tamar trail centre was just up the road with great walks and plenty to do for kids. Lydeford gorge is recommended if you like a scenic walk. A day in Plymouth with a boat trip around the harbour was also a really nice day out, good shops and eateries. My only complaint, and this really is nitpicking was a lack of washing up liquid, no dishwasher tablets or bin bags, we had to buy all of these. But don’t let this put you off an otherwise fantastic lodge!

  • "Lavender Lodge is the most gorgeous accommodation we have stayed in the UK."

The owners have put so much effort into this beautiful place. Had everything you could possibly want. Loved sitting out on the balcony of an evening with a bottle of wine chatting with family such a peaceful and relaxing place. My family loved staying here, it was really sad to leave. The staff on site were lovely and friendly also. So lucky we found this little gem.

Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback! Its great to hear you enjoyed Lavender Lodge, we tried to think of all the things we would like in a holiday home, along with the pass for all the amenities at the club house. Many thanks and hopefully you will stay with again.! Take care x Property Owner

  • "Lavender Lodge was spotless, very clean and tidy with everything we needed there."

Beautifully decorated and in a lovely location. Unfortunately the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The double bed was lovely which our mum stayed in but unfortunately the singles were horrendous. I think maybe someone had busted the springs in them. We did come home a week early due to the fact of lack of sleep. We also had a family death which obviously contributed to us leaving early but single beds there could definitely do with an upgrade. Definitely would stay again though if beds were sorted. Lovely feel to the home and people on site were lovely

Thank You for your feedback , we have taken on board your comments and replaced all the mattress. Property Owner

  • "A very nice lodge, in a very family friendly resort."

A very nicely appointed, and furnished lodge, with all you might need for a problem free holiday. The lodge was clean and well presented, with the exception of the balcony, that had a lot of cobwebs on the railings, that we cleaned off. The two very small single beds, were 2 feet 6 inches wide, and far too small for an adult. We would happily stay there again, and have already started looking to stay again, if not here, maybe in a bigger lodge.

  • "A lovely clean, homely property, well equipped, well maintained, decorated tastefully and in a good location in the holiday park."

We particularly liked sitting out on the balcony and the short walk to the bar! We found the parking really easy, even though other reviewers had said it may be difficult. The beds were comfy, but some a little small for us grownups (the twin beds look like 2 ft 6 in - but I could be wrong a we did not measure them). Fine for young children but for us adults, it would have been nicer if they had been wider (Although I think room space will not allow it). Also the over head shower was difficult to get at a constant temperature as it was just a mixer tap. But both of these points are minor and did not spoil our stay at all. All in all a lovely, enjoyable stay and we would happily recommend Lavender Cottage to others.

  • "The picture in your presentation of the property was very misleading and manipulated."

It was not a lone standing building as it seemed, but closely surrounded on three sides by several more identical lodges. The parking spaces were not designated, but where ever a space could be found, often not near No 39. We liked the balcony - pity it only got the morning sun. Inside the property was modern and bright and the living are quite spacious. The kitchen well equipped. The TV was enormous and the picture was clear. Often the WiFi did not work. Both showers were very temperamental and tricky. We could find no instructions for them and managing them was frustrating at times. The toilet roll holder in the shower room was damaged when we arrived. There is a need for a mirror in each of the bedrooms.

Hi Val, thank you for your review. We note your comments, however would just like to take the time to address one of them in particular: the allegation that the pictures have been manipulated. We can assure you and other guests that the images have in no way been manipulated. Sykes, the booking site, are responsible for taking the images and have no interest in manipulating these. We, as the lodge owners, had no control over the photos that were taken or used. We would like to point out pictures 19 and 22 of the display pictures which clearly shows Lavender Lodge’s proximity to the other lodges on the park. These images clearly show that, whilst the lodge is a stand alone/detached lodge, it is indeed surrounded by other lodges as it is situated on a holiday site. We apologise if Lavender Lodge was not what you expected, however we do not accept the pictures have been manipulated. Lavender Lodge is a beautiful lodge located on a friendly site and we do not feel there is a need to manipulate any images of the lodge. Property Owner

  • "Lavender Lodge has had a wonderful renovation and the quality of the finish is clear to see."

We are a family of 4 adults and we found the lodge to be just about the right size, but feel the living spaces may have been a squeeze with more. The balcony would have made a lot of difference to us had the weather been better. We found Honicombe Holiday park to be very quiet and the facilities well maintained. We made use of the on site gym and restaurant which we enjoyed, but would recommend a delivery from the Red Panda restaurant in Callington. We had deliveries twice during our stay and the food was delicious and delivery on time. The property is well located with easy access and the local area offers lots to do. We would have given 5 stars however we did have a problem with WiFi not working throughout our stay and the water pressure in the showers can be mixed (although it is a rural location so we did expect it). Chris was our contact for any issues and he was very responsive when we first reported the WiFi issues. All in all a lovely stay.
