  • "This place was perfect for us, 6 adults and 1 dog."

The owner was very helpful with any queries I had. The view of the sea was beautiful. It was 20 minute downhill walk into Portreath. The swimming pool, which was included in the price was great, and it had a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The on-site restaurant was very good as well. I would definitely recommend

Really happy you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again. Thanks for the feedback Property Owner

  • "Overall we were very happy with Bay View as our holiday home for the week."

All very clean, comfortable and in nice working order. The only very minor negatives, being that the listing didn't state how steep and bumpy the path from the parking space down to the cottage was and there was no hand rail for the steps up to the cottage. Thankfully my mother was having a good week, so coped fine though. Also in the things to do material, it was stated that the footpath down to the village is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. We'd say it's definitely too steep for all but the most powerful wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

Hi, thanks for you feedback and we re really pleased you were very happy with the lodge. I'll have a look at the listing, things to do literature re: the path down to the village to see what it says and look to amend - the electronic welcome pack we sent to you doesn't mention this so I could insert a paragraph on this. Thank you I certainly agree it would be a challenge for push wheelchairs and not really suitable. We do regularly see families taking push chairs down the path and there is certainly a short section that would get the heart racing. The resort is on the hillside so I guess the offset is you get the views. We'll look at installing a handrail, for the three steps up to the decking area, if practical or possible. The short, slope path down to the lodge is a bit bumpy for wheelchairs so as not to be slippery in the winter, so not much we can do about this unfortunately. Thanks for your comments, have a great summer. Property Owner

  • "Wonderful lodge in a lovely quiet location."

Very comfortable and spacious with an amazing hot tub. Comfy beds and very clean. Nice view of the sea. Decked area is lovely - can imagine in the summer it is gorgeous with all the surrounding plants. Kids loved the tennis courts and food at the Terrace within the resort was very good. Very friendly hosts. Would highly recommend!

So glad you enjoyed, hope to see you again soon. Thanks for the fab review Property Owner

About the location

PORTREATH

Truro 14 miles; St Ives 15 miles.

With its sheltered harbour, beautiful Portreath was, in the 1800s, a hive of activity and industry as a major tin-exporting port. Today, the village attracts visitors from around the world with its wild and rugged coastline. High cliffs, secluded coves and sandy, surf-washed beaches typify the area while all around are reminders of the area's rich industrial heritage. Portreath offers a small fishing harbour, shops, a number of pubs, three cafés and a Chinese restaurant, while its safe, sheltered sandy beach is a popular attraction. For a great day out, visit the cathedral city of Truro with its cobbled streets, shopping centre, theatre, museum and great restaurants, just 14 miles away, or travel a few miles along the coast and follow the vast expanse of sandy beach, which leads down to Hayle and on to St Ives. A delightful holiday location.
