Comfortable in a peaceful setting. Fantastic for dog owners. The lodge was well equipped and very well insulated so was very warm. Internet worked well.

  • "We had a lovely time staying in the Lodge ."

It was very light and airy and spotlessly clean. We were in Rowan (dog friendly ) no dog smells from previous occupants. It had everything that we needed for our stay. Michelle was friendly and welcoming. Only negative was the wooden floors creaking everywhere, and the road to get to the property has some large potholes. Otherwise a lovely property and would definitely return

  • "This was our second time at this lodge after four years and it is still in excellent condition and a wonderful holiday was had by all my family and is ideal for the dogs."

The accommodation provides all that is required for a very comfortable holiday to be had. A special mention must go to Michelle, the housekeeper, who met us on arrival to make sure all was in order and who dealt with a minor issue with a TV promptly and efficiently.

  • "Our stay at Rowan was absolutely perfect, there are no other words to describe it."

The lodge was comfortable, well equipped, warm and in the most beautiful surroundings. The fact that we could have our two dogs with us, who loved having the field opposite to play in (alongside the children) was invaluable. The manager of the lodges Michelle made contact prior to our arrival and couldnt have been more helpful to our needs, she even visited us shortly after our arrival to check we had everything we needed. We live locally and rented the lodge whilst we did some work on our newly purchased property, but we felt we would happily stay there again for a holiday as it was so lovely, peaceful and relaxing. We saw deer roaming past the lodge and grazing outside the window, as well as woodpeckers and foxes, which just added to the experience for us. A truly beautiful place to stay.

  • "Excellent property but overheats in the sun even with blinds down."

Nice to have so much outside space but grass is very long, after dew or rain you need wellingtons to walk, grazing animals would be a welcome sight. A few mown paths would help guests to find their way around (& direct them where you want them). Very surprised at lack of wildlife (rabbits etc) & particularly birds - we saw two crows & a solitary pigeon in the whole week. A very quiet & peaceful week, excellent standard of accommodation but would be nice to wake to the sound of birdsong.

Good quality linens & towels. Set in peaceful surroundings but only a few miles from shops. Michelle, the property manager made us feel very welcome & provided useful tips for getting to places. It was so nice to stay at a small site, with excellent accommodation that wasnt over commercialised, a rare find. Hope to be able to stay again.

we were met by michelle who was lovely and felt we could contact her if we needed anything. The welcome pack was lovely and as I am disabled the added addition of a shower seat was well appreciated. I did find the flooring slippy with my zimmer frame so was mostly mobile on 4 wheels to be safe but this aside did not spoil the holiday and the wood flooring had a lovely smell. We would return again

  • "Fabulous location and spacious well equipped and very clean lodge."

Only critism would be that the blinds in bedrooms let in too much light, though resulting in early wakes.. Thoroughly recommend and enjoyed our stay..

  • "Property is set in beautiful open meadow, alongside around 9 other lodges."

Rowan is situated on the edge of the lodges with lovely uninterrupted views. Fully accessible, well equipped with all the equipment needed for a great stay. Others commented on creaky floorboards, they do, but it is part of the character of a lodge in my view. The only minor point for me was it was uber warm in the lodge, in peak Summer not sure I would have managed to sleep due to the heat. Finally the lady who meets you on arrival - Michelle is an absolute gem, polite, helpful and on hand if any issues occur. Fantastic lodge, fantastic venue and would choose to stay again if visiting Cornwall.

It is a central base to go off in all directions to show what Cornwall has to offer. Michelle the lady who greated us was amazing from start to finish. Nothing was to much hassle or trouble. The site itself is beautiful and peaceful and some good walks local to do on a evening. The lodge is excellently equipped with everything you need and having 2 rooms with ensuite is a bonus. All in all a fantastic place to have a break away from every day life.

  • "Lovely, peaceful, spacious lodge."

Great location, we were able to avoid most of the crowds quite easily. Lodge starting to show need for some minor maintenance, but not enough to detract from the overall impression that this is a nice place to be. Could do with an additional comfy chair if there are 6 of you staying, the sofas aren’t really big enough. No oven gloves or working tin opener or scissors. Listing shouldn’t mention golf club as it’s closed.

Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to see you had a nice, peaceful holiday at Rowan. This year has been intense and the lodge has been used a lot. The periodical maintenance will be carried out now in the quiet season and Rowan will be ready for more action again. The owner will take in consideration you suggestion for the seating and will look into replacing the oven gloves, tin opener and scissors. We are sorry you were not able to use the golf course but unfortunately it had to be closed after the pandemic. The listing has been modified earlier this March and the golf course is not mentioned anymore. We hope you will visit again for more wonderful holidays. Property Owner

  • "This was a family holiday, and the rooms were excellent, the kitchen was well equipped."

The space in the rooms was ample. Only two little things, there seemed to be a wasps nest in the local area making sitting outside a little difficult, and at night times when everyone was home, the Wifi speeds dropped and caused lags. However, they are tiny things and will not stop us going back. We have already booked for Aug-21. Looking forward to being back in our favourite part of the world.

The property was very nice and the grounds very spacious. The only problem with the property was that the flooring was noisy when walked on.The boiler failed on one occasion, but this was rectified very quickly and effiecently. So a good week was had by us.

We were also easily able to enjoy coast and countryside, visiting St Ives, Falmouth, St Agnes and the north coast. All within very easy driving distance. The accommodation was particularly clean, bright and airy and was suitable for visiting children and our dog. All in all, brilliant. A bonus too to be met by the lovely and helpful Housekeeper, Michelle who helped us out when we couldn’t find the on/off switch!

The only gripe is that we booked it within a week of the start of the holiday and we paid 100% but before we arrived I noticed it had gone down by 20%. I put a call into Sykes and was told someone would return my call but to date I’ve had nothing. We could have saved around £300 as all the similar lodges were still available. They had all had a discount
