  • "The house was nice and had everything we needed for our stay."

I especially liked the big bedroom upstairs with the big bed. The only thing I noticed was a few cobwebs in the corners of the windows in the upstairs bedroom and a few of the cups in the kitchen cupboard were a bit greasy. I liked being able to go for a swim in the pool. My family enjoyed pizza night at the restaurant on Wednesday. Maybe it’s a good idea to have a gluten free vegan option/pizza, like that I could have eaten in the restaurant with my family. The staff in the resort were all very friendly and helpful. We’re thinking about coming back next year to have a ‘non disaster’ version of our holiday, our car broke down, we had to sleep in it for a night so missed the first night in the house. We’ll maybe be back next year!

  • "We really enjoyed our stay here!"

Lovely property and location, well placed for exploring west Cornwall and nipping into Penzance. The house was clean and tidy and we really enjoyed the reclining chairs! There were 5 of staying for the week, plus 2 more family members who joined us for part of the holiday, using the snug with the sofa bed. The kitchen is well equipped and as a family that cooks quite a bit we appreciated that (just missing a whisk and weighing scales for making pancakes!). Everyone wanted the top floor master bedroom which is really bright and spacious, however if you are sensitive to light and don't want to be woken up early you'd be better off in the ground floor double. Both lovely rooms! The balcony was lovely for morning coffee and we enjoyed all the wildlife we could see - lots of birds, butterflies, moths and bats! Great that there are multiple bathrooms too as this can be challenging on a group holiday. There's one on the first floor (with toilet, sink, bath and shower) and a separate shower/washroom and toilet on the top floor. It's a peaceful holiday site and great to have some facilities nearby - launderette, pool, pub, small shop. Plenty of parking. Great value, and we were also grateful for the wifi and that towels were included, it made life much easier! Thank you so much for a lovely stay, we would love to come back again one day.

  • "Thank you for a wonderful and much-needed break!"

The kids chose the house and we were pleasantly surprised. perfectly located and despite a little rain, had a wonderful time. The only neglect is we didn't make use of the garden as much as we would have liked to but it is just an excuse to return.

  • "The cottage description stated that there were three bathrooms with a shower , not true ."

Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor with no bathroom facilities at all. As regards the cleanliness, I don’t think that the underneath of the reclining chairs has ever been cleaned.

Many thanks for providing these comments. We hadn't appreciated that the bathroom description is inaccurate and will ask Sykes Cottages to amend this (to reflect the bathroom, shower room and separate wc). In terms of two of the bedrooms being on the ground floor, the bathroom facilities are on the middle and upper floors - it would be unrealistic to have such facilities on all three floors (although do appreciate that the existing description could be misleading in this regard). The floor under the reclining sofas are cleaned at every changeover, however, we will ask our management company to double check this. The last time that somebody made a similar comment we investigated with our agent, and it was the 'velcro' stickers located on the underside of the sofa feet (to avoid scratching the floor) that appeared to have collected fluff - the floor itself was clean. Thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback Property Owner

  • "Shower on the Third Floor needs attention the head was letting water out of the sides so no pressure to the shower."

Hot water ran out too quick had to keep using the booster. A dishwasher would be handy.

Thank you for this valued feedback - even though you have highlighted some issues, your overall rating was high. The shower head had been damaged during a previous occupancy so has replaced in its entirety. The hot water issue was resultant from the timeclock having been altered (to the wrong settings) presumably by an earlier guest. The timeclock has been reset to the correct settings. Lastly, we can't disagree with this comment about the convenience of having a dishwasher, however, the current design/layout of the kitchen does not lend itself to having a dishwasher installed. We will address this of course when the kitchen is ultimately renewed. Thank you again and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay Property Owner
