“Lovely cottage with a fully enclosed garden for the dogs.”

The cottage lacked for nothing and was clean and comfortable which was a plus having spent most of the week indoors due to the coronavirus. It is centrally placed, just a few miles from Perranporth, to reach other parts, north and south, of the Cornish coast. Just a word of warning, the sloping bedroom ceilings. I got used to it after a couple of days. Someone mentioned the traffic noise, you can barely hear it indoors and I’m sure if the weather was fine enough for us to sit outside we would have got used to it. Rebecca isn’t too far away and if there’s any problems she will soon sort them out as she did with us. We thoroughly recommend this cottage and hopefully will be back.

“Cottage photos are very complimentary for the house and it is not quite what the photos show.”

Although very roomy, comfortable and well appointed we would think twice about using it again. The main reason is the close proximity to a main road. Traffic noise was very loud in the upstairs and garden of the property. Your paperwork stated close to a minor road with no mention that the garden is parallel to the main “A” road from New Quay to Redruth.

“Wonderful cottage in a great location.”

Garden was safe and brilliant for our 2 dogs to run around in. Weather was disappointing but as we were well positioned for Truro, Redruth and Falmouth we made the most of visiting the local towns. Nearby Perranporth & Newquay beaches were lovely with plenty of shops and places for shopping. Facilities in the cottage were excellent and we made good use of the kitchen for cooking. Will be great when WiFi is available although it’s not a major problem. Definitely worth staying at this lovely cottage.

There are often dogs in the cottage and you can smell that. The matras in the double bedroom was in a bad condition, the owner changed that on our request the next day after we arrived. We don't think this is a 3 star locatie.

It was clean, immaculate and the garden was fully enclosed and safe for our dogs as suggested. The accommodation was roomy for 2 adults and 1 child and we would not hesitate in recommending this cottage. Nice little touches on arrival such as biscuits for our dogs, scones & jam for us and even some fresh milk in the fridge. Ideal location for two attractions we visited and close to the vast beach at Perranporth.

“very relaxing”

“Great base for exploring Cornwall”

Only downside to this property is its location next to the main road. Side of garden overlooks a3075 which can get very busy but it does give you a quick access to the main roads when you want to get out and about. If you can put up with the road noise, which is only really noticeable in the garden, everything else about the property is brilliant. Good welcome pack on arrival and the property was spotless, well equipped and spacious. Pub down the road has a large beer garden and good food with numerous other pubs in the area. Tv reception was dodgy but that is true for a lot of Cornwall. Cider farm is within staggering distance, apart from a short stretch of the a3075. Would like to stay there again but we consider the price for 2012 to be excessive.

The delightful hamlet of Penhallow sits on the coast road between Newquay and Redruth. Rolling countryside, flower-filled hedges, majestic coastal scenery, great beaches nearby and a wealth of visitor attractions make this area a popular holiday destination. Sample the shops in beautiful Truro, wander the coastal path, ride the waves or sand yacht on Perranporth beach. Visit the local cider farm or try the attractions of Newquay Zoo, the Eden Project and the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth - all less than a 40 minute car ride.
