  • "WOW!!!"

What a Cottage, the place is spacious with a great flow from opening the front door to the downstairs bedrooms, shower room, into the lounge for the most fantastic view to the kitchen. Then upstairs to the 2 bedrooms with the fantastic view to wake up to. Plus the hidden on-suite shower room. Easy the walk down to either of the 2 beaches (hard part walking back). A great place for a week or two. Highly recommended

  • "The second stay at this property and still found it comfortable and more than adequately equiped."

On site parking at Cornish holiday cottages can be a rarity, Treverrion has private parking for two family sized cars. The location is good for exploring Gorran Haven and its nice beach and coastal paths, nearby Portmellon and Mevagissey too. Fearless, skilled drivers will also venture forth into the Roseland Peninsula, however, the profusion of narrow country lanes, farm vehicles and multiple on comming delivery vans is not for the faint hearted. Being after the main summer holiday period and before the Autumn half term, it was also competitively priced.

Loved the view of the sea , just visible. Everything you could need. In lovely village with popular cove. Also cafe, store and fish and chip shop. One of the best places we have been to.

David Thank you for your comments, we are glad you enjoyed Treverrion and Gorran Haven, which is a very special place for us as a family. Our parents built the house in 1968, we are now on the fourth generation, digging sandcastles and enjoying Cakebreads. Please come again. Property Owner

  • "As a veteran holiday cottage renter of >30+ years; I would say that this one ticks most boxes for the majority of peoples' aspirations and demands."

Normally a person/family to constantly challenge the "value for money" aspects of holiday home rentals, I was encouraged by the common sense attitude to pricing here, particularly for the "off season". Gorran Haven is an attractive Cornish coastal location, however, it may not suit everyone as it lacks the typical maritime pub by the seafront.

The owners were flexible an thoughtful - they even provided us with travel bed, changing mat and a little bath for our baby. They also left us some bread, butter and eggs on our arrival. We had a great time and we would be happy to stay there again.

  • "What a fantastic location for us to spend a peaceful week in South Cornwall."

Treverrion was tucked away in a quiet residential road, with views of the sea and a decking area outside. The cottage was comfortable, clean and well-appointed, with a friendly and helpful host. On arrival, we discovered a handy welcome pack of food essentials. During our stay, we enjoyed the beautiful coastal walks and beaches and the fabulous countryside views. It was a short drive to explore the gardens at Heligan, also not far to drive to the Eden Project for a great day out. The fish and chips at the Haven were especially tasty for me (a Coeliac) as they could make them gluten-free! All in all, Treverrion was a sanctuary for us to unwind, explore and enjoy Cornwall and we’d definitely like to return.

  • "The property was very spacious and comfortable, and exactly as described, with wonderful views."

It was extremely well equipped, and we were also surprised and delighted to find a "welcome pack" of supplies such as bread, milk and eggs. Booking was very easy, and reminder emails were timely and helpful. We will most definitely use Sykes Cottages again, and indeed have already started to investigate possibilities for next spring.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the brilliant Treverrion!"

It is a gorgeous property, located on a lovely, quiet street with great sea views and just a short walk to the beach. For those who are keen walkers, Treverrion is also situated perfectly for scenic coastal walks right from the front door. One of our holiday highlights was walking the Dodman Long Loop. We couldn't be happier with the cleanliness of the property. It really was faultless! The comfort in each room and the fact that it was so well-equipped made us feel immediately at home too. I made contact with the owner directly to arrange for a highchair to be made available to us for our stay and they went above and beyond for us! The communication was excellent; enough to reassure me that I could contact them if ever I needed to but not at all overbearing or intrusive. We would definitely recommend this holiday home to others and would happily return ourselves. Thank you for a wonderful week!

  • "This holiday home is much nearer to the sea than I'd assumed from the photos."

It is 10 minutes walk to the beach but the coastal path is just at the end of the road and many nights I could hear the waves and where else could one shower with a view of the sea (from the skylight window in the ensuite). The raised terrace is a lovely area to sit at any time of the day and has stunning views which can also be seen from the living room. The beach at Gorran Haven with its cafe is family friendly. There is a cliff top walk from Gorran Haven to Mevagissey along the coastal path which is not too demanding. We would definitely like to stay again.

  • "It was refreshing to walk into a cottage that was so clean ."

We had a great time and loved the wild flowers out at this time of year in the giant hedgerows and on the cliff tops. We followed the dry weather on both north and south coasts. We enjoyed fish and chips at the restaurant by our beach . It was always good to come back to the cottage after a long day exploring. It was so well equipped that we didn’t unpack a couple of bags that we thought we would need.

A good base to explore the local coastal paths with a pleasant beach to relax on. Although the walk to the beach is only about five minutes it is down a steep hill and could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.

  • "We had a fab time and would recommend the cottage for sure."

Probably my only complaint was it wasn't quite as clean as expected in places (but i am just a fuss pot in that area) The cottage is a very beautiful cottage, cosy and welcoming and perfect for a group of us for the weekend. Nice and spacious and in a lovely quiet spot over looking the sea. Gorgeous views, and very comfy beds.

Owner Response: Great to know you would recommend the cottage, thank you. I'm an unashamed fuss pot too! I've inspected the property and I'm pleased to say its all sparkling clean. Property Owner

About the location

GORRAN HAVEN

Mevagissey 3 miles.

Once a crab fishing village, Gorran Haven on the south coast of Cornwall is ideally placed to explore the many beaches and coves in the area. Gorran Haven has a small sandy beach set behind a traditional sea wall, connecting with the longer Great Perhaver beach at low tide and is popular with families. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is readily accessible from the South West Coast Path that passes through Gorran Haven. Within walking distance are a number of more isolated beaches and the 370 feet high Dodman Point, rising above Gorran, which is thought to be one of Cornwall’s most dramatic headlands, and the cause of many a shipwreck. From its gorse-covered heights there are views across Veryan Bay to the west and Vault Beach to the east. Alternatively, you may wish to walk the coastal path to the harbour village of Mevagissey. Near Gorran Haven, in a beautiful setting of woodland, stream and pasture, is Caerhays Castle, an informal 60-acre garden on the coast near Porthluney Cove. Nearby attractions are the wonderful Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project, Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum and the cathedral town of Truro, with an excellent range of quality shopping and dining.
