10 Customer Reviews

  • "A lovely apartment on 2 floors some of the door and window locking took a bit of working out but not a problem."

Lots of space good bathrooms and showers the water did go cold in the shower then warmed up again I didn't work out if it was related to someone running a tap. Comfortable beds a blind on one window was stuck Lovely views from the balcony kitchen large and well equipped good TV and selection of dvds. Hardly noticed the trains Had decided to book again within an hour of arrival

  • "Whilst the property was clean we did encounter silverbacks in all 3 bathrooms and the kitchen."

The decor and upholstery had a general "tired" feel and a new patio door to the balcony is most definitely required, as is a new balcony table with the balcony in need of a good clean. We had stayed 3 years previously in an identical property on the Quay which was of a much higher standard.

  • "Property should mention the stairs up to the living area as if a person was disabled the property would not be suitable for them."

Patio doors are not easy to open and outside one of the doors is badly damaged at the bottom of the door, when you unlock door the handle is loose and could easily pull out the screws that attach doors as it does not open with ease. In the bedroom with three beds the linen basket has a wire protruding which could be dangerous if a child were to catch on it. Shower cubicle in master bedroom needs the grout either cleaned or re grouted. On arrival the rooms were quite hot and when we open the first velux window with the pole supplied the hook snapped straight off so had to use a chair to open and close windows during our week long stay. I informed Skyes as soon as this happened as did not want to be charge £350.for damages and was told the call would be logged with owner and they would give me a call, logged call at 14.35 hours and by 17.40 no call from owner so I ended up calling the owners number to explain the situation. Overall good location of property had everything you would need. ..

  • "This property in Lostwithial was ideally placed for our holiday."

One of the doors onto the balcony could not be opened because the bottom of it was broken and coming away from the frame. We were worried that if we forced it open (all locks being off) then the door would have broken into pieces. The paint on the walls of both top floor bedrooms continually flaked off and was constantly being vacuumed up. The waste in both the en-suite and upstairs bathroom really needed a thorough cleaning. We took 2 cars with us and had no problems parking the second vehicle.

Thank you for the feedback. The ceilings were freshly painted last year and we haven't had this issue since, but we will visit and inspect. The balcony doors are Scandinavian so pretty tough. Nevertheless, Cornish weather has affected the woodwork, but they do work. The plan is to replace them over the winter, as the time lag for getting new ones is quite long. We have a a very good cleaning team so I will ask them to pay attention to the sinks. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely couple of nights at Tresero."

Previous comments on limited kitchen pots and pans have definitely been addressed as there we plenty of everything. We also met with another family whilst there and had 9 for a roast Sunday lunch and we had plenty which rarely isn't the case in holiday lets. Also the property was very clean and linen/towel all very fresh smelling and plush so good to have have got the cheap options to make guests feel more at home. My only niggle is that the lounge was not very comfy... what I mean is just not an inviting space to relax. Two formal, not particularly comfy sofas...so we spent most time in the kitchen at the table and that was a shame as we hardly used the lounge other than look out of the balcony doors or collect a board game (a nice touch to leave for guests) Of course if this wasn't the UK and you could rely on it not raining then these things don't matter that much but maybe some reconsideration here would be a good thing. Overall a very pleasant property and ticks the boxes for a couple of nights well located in Cornwall.

  • "We all had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend."

Lostwithiel is a hidden gem such a lovely town with plenty of places to eat. There is a lovely kids play area with basketball court and skateboard and bike ramps which the children loved. You can also paddle swim in the river or hire canoe’s etc. Also next to a train station where you could travel to places like Penzance and Truro for a very reasonable price. Also Par Sands was a nice beach and only about 15 minutes' drive away. The holiday home was a lovely size and easily accommodated our party of 6. It was nicely furnished with comfortable beds. Washing machine a bonus in a well equipped kitchen could have done with couple of pans as only 1 frying pan and no small pan. Only downside for me was the cleanliness, surface clean but could benefit from a good deep clean as I don’t think the cleaners are very thorough. Will definitely be going back though.

We are so sorry to hear that the home was not clean and will be discussing this with the cleaners as our reputation relies on them cleaning to our specification Property Owner

  • "We loved this duplex, amazingly quiet considering the closeness of the town and railway but then we love trains!"

This holiday let would have been five star across the board if a few issues were addressed. It was frustrating not to be able to open both doors to the balcony especially as we were there in a week of hot weather. The shower en suite was very clean but the shower itself was diabolical, never consistent temperature even when there was no one else using the water system, the metal bar of the shower got too hot to touch and the shower door was extremely hard to open from the inside. It would have been nice to have the option of lower tog duvets but then I do appreciate this was uncommonly hot weather for Cornwall. Being experienced self catering holiday makers we saw the weather forecast and brought two fans with us. In spite of these small criticisms we had a lovely holiday and look forward to renting Tresero again, and again etc!

Thank you for this and glad you had a lovely holiday. We are currently at the property for a holiday and the quilt is definitely warm so understand that comment...the weather is a bit less tropical this week though so that helps. We had the balcony doors serviced before the season and have just tested them. There are openers at the top and bottom of the edge of the left hand door which allow that door to open- they aren't very obvious but they would have given you a bit more air. We will look into the issues you raise about the shower-I've felt it cool down at times but assumed one of the other taps were being run. This is our first year of renting and really value the feedback- hope to see you back soon... Property Owner
