  • "What a beautiful cosy cottage!"

It is really old and quaint but renovated tastefully with all mod cons. It was great to light the log burner after a day out or evening fishing. The garden and lake are so peaceful and we saw woodpeckers on the bird feeders. If you are looking for a peaceful holiday, Jane’s place is highly recommended. Thanks to Jeanette, Brian and Inky for the lovely welcome and hospitality!

  • "The cottage is beautiful, with its beams, log burner and country kitchen."

The gardens are fantastic, so much space and the fish pond is a bonus. The owners are lovely, left us to on with the holiday but available if you have any questions or fancy a quick natter! Please note though there is no enclosed garden area. It's all open plan. We require an enclosed garden because of our dog, this is always the first thing we look for when booking a holiday. Not a great start to the holiday! This was the only issue we had. Everything else was perfect!

  • "We were welcomed by Ginette and her beautiful dog Inky and straight away felt at home everything in the cottage was spotless and the flowers made a very homely touch, the two bedrooms are roomy and the bathroom upstairs has a bath while the bathroom downstairs has a shower so excellent if 2 couples are sharing."

The kitchen had everything you needed ,the lounge had two sofas and good reception tv, not that we watched much as there was too much to do and see. It would also be lovely to visit in the winter and curl up in front of the log burner The cottage is on the border of Devon and Cornwall so great for exploring so many places, there is a wonderful farm shop about 2 miles away and we found everything we wanted there plus it has a good selection of food takeaway and sit in. The grounds at Jane's place are fabulous and has a wonderful lake if you are interested in fishing otherwise you can stroll around the beautiful gardens and take in amazing scenery.. the gardens are so relaxing it was difficult to tear ourselves away and visit places. Ginette's husband Brian was so friendly and explained about the Cornish craft of Cornish pilot gigs a six oared rowing boat which are still used today for racing. Our week went too quickly and we cannot wait to return. Thank you Ginette Brian & Inky

  • "Great location."

Lovely comfortable lounge. Beds really first class. Very well equipped kitchen. Beautiful gardens with an an amazing’hidden’ lake full of fish!! We would not hesitate to recommend. One small caveat- WiFi was poor and we couldn’t connect our iPhones. Unfortunately for us WiFi important as we run an internet business. But only a minor point. Very doggie friendly. A very chilled holiday inspire of the awful weather.

The area has plenty of exploring, walking, cycling, etc. Returning to such a comfortable cottage made the holiday even more enjoyable. Gardens around the cottage are beautifully kept and the tranquil fishing lake was a bonus! The owners our super friendly and helpful with suggestions for great days out. We felt really relaxed and enjoyed our 2 week holiday. Would definitely recommend Jane’s Place for a perfect stay in Devon.

I could only get 4G upstairs. Wouldn't have bothered us in the summer months but took our laptop to watch Netflix as cottage was out in the countryside so early dark nights.

There is superfast fibre broadband in the property. It is all checked and is working. Property Owner

  • "Janes place is the idyllic Devon cottage that is the picture box life we long for."

The cottage was beautiful, and the location was so peaceful. We wanted a rest from our hectic working lives and janes place was the perfect place to do that. They have a private fishing lake which you can use and my husband was in his own world resting but also catching plenty of tench and beautiful crucian carp. Our hosts ginnete and Bryan were there if we needed them and nothing was too much trouble. We didn’t want to come home. We will definitely be returning to janes place as soon as we can and we have told our friends how wonderful it is to escape the madness of our hectic lives. Best relaxing holiday we have ever had.

  • "What a lovely cottage it had a real Devonshire feel about it , with a beautiful huge garden and lake, it was a pity we couldn't spend more time sitting out side in the garden because every day we had terrible rain that lasted most of the day."

We did find a few good restaurants locally, near to the cottage was "The Strawberry Farm", fantastic cafe/restaurant for fresh home maid cooked food . If you want a quiet restful holiday Jane"s Place is the one for you .

This isn't clear on reading the listing and looking at photos. Lovely, warm, homely comfy cottage in a great location.Bathrooms need updating and could have been cleaner. Wifi is sporadic at best.

Thank you for your feedback, your comments have been taken on board and this month, a number of improvements have been made to the cottage including renovations to the bathrooms. Kind regards, Property Owner
