  • "The cottage is great, large for only having two bedrooms."

We had a great stay and the owners are very friendly. It is a working farm that you are situated on so please remember that when booking but I can't complain about our holiday at all. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Thank you for your feedback and recommendation. Glad you had a great stay and found the cottage comfortable. Property Owner

  • "Great cottage but the noise from others was excessive."

Very thin walls. Some families were up at 6am and still awake and shouting at midnight. We got very little sleep due to this. Ceilings shook excessively like they were close to caving in. Mentioned this to the owner. Everything else about the cottage was amazing!!!

We do hope this did' tmar your holiday experience with us. Yes, the young chidren were quite excited, weren't they. Property Owner

  • "Do not follow the final directions provided by Sykes Cottages."

From there directions 'Turn right onto the A39' do not then turn left onto Stamford Hill instead stay on the A39 turn left at a junction approximately 1.5 miles the other side of Kilkhampton signed Stursdon Lee and Coombe. Follow the road for approximately 2 miles until you see Lee Barton Farm and Cottages on your left.

Thank you for your feedback. We will shortly be updating the directions to the property for all arriving guests. Property Owner

  • "Perfect location for touring North Devon and Cornwall, and not too far to visit relatives in South Devon."

We found the road leading north from the farm leading just north of Kilkhampton to reach the A39 much easier to use than the route given in the directions to the property. We used this route regardless of whether we travelled north or south

Thank you for your feedback. Glad you had a good holiday. Property Owner

  • "Could do with details of local area and comment book."

Only half a loo roll left in bathroom, extra would be really handy. We had a lovely stay in the Roundhouse, comfortable property in a beautiful part of Cornwall.

Thank you for your feedback. We are looking into redoing local information packs. Each bathroom usually has a new toilet roll, this was missed on this occasion. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

Also, we discovered there was a children's play area which included a sand pit and kids tractor. She loved playing here. A great place to stay and we would definitely consider returning in the future.

  • "The location is very peaceful on a working farm but is remote as we expected and you do need a car."

The hosts Mr and Mrs Hobbs are great there if you need them but not intrusive. The description for the bedroom in the eaves I think needs to be made clearer for the round house. It is completely open to the seating are below and there is no door on the bedroom. If someone is in bed and there are people in the kitchen/seating area they would be disturbed as happened for us. I do not sleep well but did not want to get up in the middle of the night and disturb my daughter in the upstairs room. Some of the property is looking tired - the bathroom is very dark and has dark wall covering and there is no natural light and the seal around the bath is looking very tired - I found the bathroom rather depressing. The kitchen is also looking rather tired but has plenty of items for any kind of cooking and the cooker and hob worked fine. The settee is also very old and rather uncomfortable. The surrounding grounds are lovely on this property and there are a number of picnic tables you can make use of but no seating area outside this property as it opens up onto the side where cars park. There is a table outside the window to the side of the kitchen which we used a few times. There can be a number of large trucks passing through to the next farm and they do go rather fast - more a warning for anyone with dogs and children - not enough to spoil the amazing peace of this property. We would stay at Lee Barton Farm again but not in the round house if there were more than 2 of us due to the bedroom being so open and the bathroom. Had a great week and walked to Duckpool a steep walk but lovely when you get there.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, we have taken your comments on board. With regard to the bedroom upstairs, this is described as a gallery twin bedroom nestled under the eaves and a balcony overlooking the ground floor. We're pleased to hear you had great week and enjoyed the peaceful location and look forward to welcoming you at Lee Barton Farm in the future. Property Owner

  • "Wonderful place where you can enjoy country side."

Cottage was clean, beautifully presented. Mr and Mrs Hobbs are there to guide you just in case of any need. Ground floor double bed mattress is quite comfortable but 1st floor single bed mattresses are not that comfortable. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

  • "We have no complaints about our stay."

The accomadation was spacious & very comfortable. The facilities on the whole met our expectation. There is currently an issue with the wi-fi that Jonathan, the owner, explained would be sorted out next month but it didn't really affect our stay. On the whole a lovely place & so nice to be greeted by Jonathan on arrival.

  • "Just a few things."

The noise from the cottage that goes over the downstairs bedroom is excessively noisey. To us it didnt matter to much because we were out most of the time, but it usually went on till about 9pmish very loud, hear people thumping across the flooring, children sounded very loud as they ran across the floor. Also no programe guide on the downstairs tv, and the tv in the bedroom most of the channels didnt work. The barn conversion its self was lovely, very clean and tidy, its location is ideal with some very beautiful country side surrounding it.We loved staying there and would deffinately stay again.A dish washer would be very handy also.

About the location

BUDE

Tintagel 17 miles.

Kilkhampton is an historic Cornish village, 4 miles from the popular Victorian seaside resort of Bude, one of Cornwall’s premier holiday locations. With its old church, village shops and atmospheric village pubs, Kilkhampton is a lovely place to relax after a hard day exploring the stunning beaches and spectacular coastal scenery for which the area is famous. Bude’s beaches attract surfers from all over the country and when conditions are right you’d be hard pushed to find better surf. When the tide is out, miles of golden sand and hundreds of rock pools keep visitors occupied for hours. The South West Coast Path, and many other rights-of-way winding over the clifftops and through lush green fields looking out over the sea, make this area a haven for walkers and lovers of the open countryside. For those who prefer staying closer to home, a good shopping centre and a selection of pubs, two clubs and restaurants are on offer. Bude canal, a registered nature reserve, passes through the town, and rowing a boat along its calm waters or walking the towpath among the beautiful (and friendly) water fowl that live among the reeds is a great way to spend an hour or two. Within the area there are also 2 golf courses, an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley at the leisure centre. A perfect location for all that North Cornwall has to offer.
