  • "We have had a really lovely week."

Very nice cottage and very friendly owners could not fault anything. Loved all the little extra, Tea and milk and cleaning stuff.

We found the barn very comfortable but not having any opening windows does make it very hot in warm weather The outside space was to say the least a mess and would benefit from a good clear up Having what appeared to be an abandoned vehicle permanently on the car park didn’t exactly add to the general ambiance

  • "The property is modern and well appointed, and spotlessly clean."

Although the property owners live in the next property along, they respect your privacy whilst making it clear that you can contact them at any time. The property is south facing and we stayed during very warm weather. We came prepared and brought fans, but the owners were more than happy to provide more if needed. The only negative comment I can make is the very rough farm track leading to the property - it is a real bone shaker! We had a great stay, with nothing being too much trouble - would definitely book again

  • "We have just spent a wonderful week at Brambles Barn."

Both Neal and Judith were very friendly and hospitable. The accommodation was spotless and well equipped for the 2 of us. The decor was lovely and the bath towels were good quality (even the loo rolls were good quality!) It can get warm but the hosts will provide fans if necessary. The only negative thing is that we had to leave

  • "The lane into the property is very disappointing and needs urgent maintenance."

The sides need cutting as brambles scrape your car. Deep pot holes are the majority of the drive which means you can only travel about one mile per hour and can catch the bottom of your car. When it has been raining it looks like you have been off road with the dirt stuck to your tyres. It has put us off staying again. Also there are no windows to open just the doors so there isn't much fresh air. It needs air conditioning as in the summer it would be too hot. Just bearable in May. The owner did offer fans but they would only circulate warm air as no windows to open. Shower doesn't have much water pressure. Great location, clean and the owner was very friendly. If all the above was rectified we would stay again.

  • "We had a lovely stay and the cottage was clean and perfectly sized for 2 people."

The location was perfect for us with an amazing farm shop with restaurant nearby. Facilities were good and the owner checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed which was very kind and thoughtful. The only negatives and the reason I would not revisit is the lack of a gate to fully enclose the garden which meant we couldn’t let our dog sit outside. Also unfortunately there are no windows which was a struggle at night when it got hot and stuffy. This of course may not be a problem for most people but being of a certain age an open window even in winter is a must for me ! Apart from the gate and window the property was faultless. The tea, milk and toiletries were a nice gesture.

  • "My husband and I had a fantastic stay."

The annex was very cosy, well equipped and finished to a very high standard. Apatranent is situated in a perfect location for exploring all that Cornwall has to offer whilst situated in a very quiet and peaceful location for a relaxing stay. Both Nill and His wife were fantastic hosts, extremely friendly and helpful, and were able to offer recommendations for the local area or to just have a chat! We will definitely come back again .

  • "The location of the property is excellent for easy access to so many delightful places."

The property is very comfortable and peaceful.Neal is very helpful with any help or information you might need. Wouldn’t want to make too much of it,as it is in the country side , but the lane leading to the property has a very rough surface and maybe some brambles could be cut back at the side. We had a lovely stay.

  • "Perfect for two people and a brilliant location."

The approach road is a bit tight with potholes but ok with care. The facilities were very good but it did get quite warm internally during the lovely warm weather. The owner Neil, who was very friendly and helpful did say that he was going to install air conditioning which would be great.

  • "1.Leakage under sink required a jug to be emptied 2."

No baking trays to put food on when in oven 3.No bread bin or board 4.Shower tray slippery when wet - dangerous, needs a rubber mat 5.Shelf under bathroom cabinet would be useful for toiletries 6.Hanging space for clothes inadequate - better solution required 7.No ventilation in bedroom without opening an external door. Owner did provide a pedestal fan when asked. This will be a must during the summer months.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We take this very seriously and would like to respond to the issues you have raised. There is no leakage under the sink, this is a pressure release valve installed as a temporary measure and if asked by you when seeing you all week we would be happy to empty the jug for you. There is plenty of equipment in the kitchen and baking trays and a chopping board are supplied. We would have provided a rubber mat for the shower if you had requested this at any time. There are four shelves within the bathroom cabinets, as well as a soap dish holder on sink for your convenience. We do not provide a wardrobe; however, wall mounted hangers are provided - this perhaps a matter of personal preference. As explained to yourselves at the time bedroom patio doors adhere to Building Regulations and provide an additional Fire Exit. We apologise if you felt too hot, but as you have mentioned we did provide a pedestal fan straight away on request. Had you mentioned the other issues when you were here, we would have been happy to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible. Property Owner

St Ives 6.3 miles; Penzance 7.4 miles.

Hayle is in the far-flung south western corner of Cornwall and sits on an important RSPB wildlife estuary flowing out to the beautiful St Ives Bay, where visitors can enjoy three miles of golden sandy beaches, walks, history and wildlife. Hayle has plenty of activities out of the water too; Paradise Park is a wildlife park, home to some spectacular parrots, otters, and red pandas. Hayle has a range of shops, restaurants and bars scattered around the estuary and harbour area. There are skittles and karting for the family, and for golfers, one of the best links golf courses in Cornwall is at Lelant, a mile out of Hayle. But the jewel of Hayle is the three miles of golden sandy beach, with fantastic surfing at Gwithian where there is a surf shop, lessons and hire of equipment. For the less energetic there are beach cafés where you can take in the views and watch the children play. As Hayle is centrally located you can easily access many other places by either public transport (there is a train station at Hayle) or driving. St. Ives is a short drive away where you can wander through the narrow streets, visit the art galleries, or admire the colourful sub-tropical gardens. St Ives harbour has its own small fishing fleet and there are plentiful boat trips skippered by locals keen to showcase the best that Cornwall has to offer, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, a couple of hours' mackerel fishing or a relaxing trip to Godrevy Lighthouse. Within easy reach of Hayle is the Minack Theatre, Falmouth Maritime Museum, Eden Project, St. Michael’s Mount and many other fantastic tourist attractions for dry or wet days.
