    House situated for well for touring Cornwall. Lock to front door was difficult at times to unlock from outside. We couldn't find any information on local amenities ie;numbers for doctors, hospital,dentist etc.hopefully never needed but emergencies arise sometimes. Instructions for use of the cooker. More toilet rolls would have been welcome we were left one in the bathroom and one in downstairs loo and they were like tissue paper luckily there was only two of us even so we had to buy some. Also it needed a very thorough dusting, lounge floor could have done with a wash. Sad to say we have stayed in much better equipped cottages for less money.

This attractive, modern, semi-detached house is positioned within a short drive of some of the most desirable beaches and the picturesque town of St Ives.

Furnished with two cream leather sofas, the living room boasts French doors leading outside and a gas flame fire to keep you toasty off-season.

The patio garden is fully enclosed and a safe haven for children where parents can relax with a chilled drink whilst enjoying an alfresco family meal.

Ideally located close to the train station where the branch line to St Ives joins the main line to St Erth (the branch line to St Ives runs behind the cottage's garden), this truly is a perfect destination for anyone who wishes to leave the car behind.

From the cottage, a three minute stroll will take you to a choice of two character pubs for a home cooked meals, and within a short walk the scenic coastal railway will take you to the charming resort of St Ives, famous for its galleries and magnificent beaches.

A short 5 mile drive will take you to the wonderful beaches at Hayle Towans and the must see St Michael's Mount that rises dramatically out of the sea at Marazion can be explored just 7 miles away.

Here you can walk across the cobbled causeway at low tide or board a ferry that will take you across to the magical isle.

Saffron Cottage is a great choice for sightseeing and enjoying the magnificent beaches and coastline of this beautiful region at any time of year.

About the location

HAYLE

St Ives 7 miles; Penzance 7.5 miles.

Hayle is in the far-flung south western corner of Cornwall and sits on an important RSPB wildlife estuary flowing out to the beautiful St Ives Bay, where visitors can enjoy three miles of golden sandy beaches, walks, history and wildlife. St Ives harbour has its own small fishing fleet and there are plentiful boat trips skippered by locals keen to showcase the best that Cornwall has to offer, whether it be seal watching at Seal Island, a couple of hours' mackerel fishing or a relaxing trip to Godrevy Lighthouse. Hayle has plenty of activities out of the water too; Paradise Park is a wildlife park, home to some spectacular parrots, otters and red pandas. Hayle has a range of shops, restaurants and bars scattered around the estuary and harbour area. There are skittles and karting for the family, and for golfers, one of the best links golf courses in Cornwall is at Lelant, a mile out of Hayle. But the jewel of Hayle is the three miles of golden sandy beach, with fantastic surfing at Gwithian where there is a surf shop, lessons and hire of equipment. For the less energetic there are beach cafes where you can take in the views and watch the children play. As Hayle is centrally located you can easily access many other places by either public transport (there is a train station at Hayle) or driving. St. Ives is a short drive away where you can wander through the narrow streets, visit the art galleries or admire the colourful sub tropical gardens. Within easy reach of Hayle is the Minack Theatre (35 mins), Falmouth Maritime Museum (40 mins), Eden Project (40 mins), St. Michael’s Mount (15 mins) and many other fantastic tourist attractions for dry or wet days.
