  • "Really lovely cottage, warm, cosy and well appointed , thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

Loved the lake and would have spent more time there fishing and enjoying the wildlife if the weather had been better!

  • "Lovely stay, such a pretty little cottage with so much character."

Lovely garden and grounds. Really peaceful, the owner was on hand if we needed to ask anything, but it was also wonderfully secluded and private. Everything you could need in the house and all in good working order. Fabulous area- plenty of amenities locally and very pretty countryside. Great for exploring Cornwall, Devon and Dartmoor as the A30 is within easy reach, so plenty to do within an hour of the house. Loads of beautiful walks, cycling, shopping, swimming and places to eat out within 5-30 mins drive of the house which are less touristy than better known areas of Cornwall and Devon. Check out the guest book for recommendations or ask the owners.

Many Thanks for feedback , Pleased you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "This was our second stay at Jane's Place."

We stayed on the hottest week of the year and really appreciated the coolness of the very old house-as did our little dog Harry who hates the heat. The pond was wonderful-you walk down the beautiful garden into this wonderfully sculptured paradise that is surrounded by trees which kept us sheltered and cool all week whilst fishing. The beds and sofas were very comfortable, the shower was great and the cooker easy to use. The only minor niggle was the WIFI signal-very poor and you can't get an unbroken 4G signal in the house and it isn't a smart TV so anyone wanting to screencast from a phone is out of luck. If you have kids you might need to bring extra games for entertainment. Very clean and tidy and the flowers are a lovely touch. Brian, Ginette and Inky were great hosts and we would be happy to stay again in the future.

Thank you for your feedback. It is great to hear you enjoyed your stay. The cottage is very old with thick walls so the 4G signal can be unpredictable at times but the WiFi does work. We hope to see you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "What a great experience we had at Jane’s Cottage."

The views, the cottage itself and the owners was five star. It was so peaceful we came home feeling truly rested. It is in easy reach of many places of interest both in Cornwall and Devon eg we visited the Castle in Launceston, the beach at Bude, Pencarrow Manor House. Ideal for both couples and families with children. So many places to sit in the lovely garden at the cottage and follow the sun around. You must visit and see for yourselves. Sue and friends.

  • "What a beautiful cosy cottage!"

It is really old and quaint but renovated tastefully with all mod cons. It was great to light the log burner after a day out or evening fishing. The garden and lake are so peaceful and we saw woodpeckers on the bird feeders. If you are looking for a peaceful holiday, Jane’s place is highly recommended. Thanks to Jeanette, Brian and Inky for the lovely welcome and hospitality!

The gardens are fantastic, so much space and the fish pond is a bonus. The owners are lovely, left us to on with the holiday but available if you have any questions or fancy a quick natter! Please note though there is no enclosed garden area. It's all open plan. We require an enclosed garden because of our dog, this is always the first thing we look for when booking a holiday. Not a great start to the holiday! This was the only issue we had. Everything else was perfect!

The kitchen had everything you needed ,the lounge had two sofas and good reception tv, not that we watched much as there was too much to do and see. It would also be lovely to visit in the winter and curl up in front of the log burner The cottage is on the border of Devon and Cornwall so great for exploring so many places, there is a wonderful farm shop about 2 miles away and we found everything we wanted there plus it has a good selection of food takeaway and sit in. The grounds at Jane's place are fabulous and has a wonderful lake if you are interested in fishing otherwise you can stroll around the beautiful gardens and take in amazing scenery.. the gardens are so relaxing it was difficult to tear ourselves away and visit places. Ginette's husband Brian was so friendly and explained about the Cornish craft of Cornish pilot gigs a six oared rowing boat which are still used today for racing. Our week went too quickly and we cannot wait to return. Thank you Ginette Brian & Inky

Lovely comfortable lounge. Beds really first class. Very well equipped kitchen. Beautiful gardens with an an amazing’hidden’ lake full of fish!! We would not hesitate to recommend. One small caveat- WiFi was poor and we couldn’t connect our iPhones. Unfortunately for us WiFi important as we run an internet business. But only a minor point. Very doggie friendly. A very chilled holiday inspire of the awful weather.

The cottage was beautiful, and the location was so peaceful. We wanted a rest from our hectic working lives and janes place was the perfect place to do that. They have a private fishing lake which you can use and my husband was in his own world resting but also catching plenty of tench and beautiful crucian carp. Our hosts ginnete and Bryan were there if we needed them and nothing was too much trouble. We didn’t want to come home. We will definitely be returning to janes place as soon as we can and we have told our friends how wonderful it is to escape the madness of our hectic lives. Best relaxing holiday we have ever had.
