About the location
Padstow 2.5 miles; Wadebridge 4.5 miles.
Set in a wooded valley at the head of a tidal creek running up from the Camel Estuary, this tiny hamlet of Cornish stone houses exudes peace and tranquillity. Footpaths lead in all directions - across the fields, over to the next village, down the creek to the estuary and along the water’s edge to Padstow. Wildlife, waterfowl and the sights and sounds of the country are everywhere, and yet, just ten minutes by car, and you are in Padstow with its winding streets, quaint fishing harbour, excellent pubs and top quality restaurants. The excellent surfing beaches of Harlyn and Constantine are ideal for safe family fun, and Constatine Bay is also home to a golf course, just a few miles away, while a passenger ferry across the river from Padstow to Rock takes you to the beach at Daymer Bay. Just around the corner toward Pentire Head is the surfing paradise at Polzeath, and when the beach no longer calls, there’s a golf course nearby, several stately homes and gardens to visit and the Camel Trail to walk or cycle. The fabulous Eden Project is just fifteen miles away.
