  • "A lovely property and location wise it is ideal and the two parking spots are a godsend."

Spotlessly clean. The house book stated the refuse collection was a Friday but it was uplifted in the Thursday so that was a pain as obviously we still had refuse overnight and as there was only one black bag left we had to put that waste into a shopping bag, a couple of bags would be good . Decor wise the house is good although the Velux window in the upstairs bathroom needs attention, it is also unfortunate that you have no way of opening either of the roof windows. Those two issues aside we would recommend this property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I think it is important to mention in the advert that there is no garden, it might not suit a family with young children.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you back anytime in the future. Your comments have been passed on to the team here at John Bray Cornish Holidays. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "Lovely clean house in a great location with 2 parking spaces."

The only thing I would suggest is to have some storage cupboards in the kitchen for food and a comfy armchair in the lounge as the sofas were a tight fit for 6 adults.

What a great surprise we got when we went round the side. What a fantastic cottage just a short walk to the harbour. Everything was near at hand. Cottage modern with coaster theme. all you want in such a great position

  • "The reason we wasn’t completely happy was due to the late check in of 4pm and the early checkout of 9am, we are also unsure of why this is such a large window when the checking out details for the property to be cleaned to the standard of how we received the property, this doesn’t comply with covid cleaning."

Cleaning wasn’t done to a high standard either, there was cobwebs throughout on the ceiling and floors wasn’t hoovered. Also another important reason we wasn’t happy with John bray is that on Monday afternoon, a member of John bray entered the property without our consent or even being notified, my mother was in the property with my daughter and our dog, the staff member did not inform us of him visiting and said his here to change a light bulb, we did not report this at all and neither did we have a lightbulb needing to be replaced. It made us worry for the rest of the week that if another member of staff would visit the property as we have all our personal belongings in the property and some were very expensive (watches and jewellery) we shouldn’t be made to feel like this and neither did we receive any form of apology.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Firstly, our apologies that the message of our checkout times changing to 9.30am were not relayed to you and that the cleaning was not up to our usual high standards. Regarding the maintenance team member, once again our apologies that you were not notified beforehand that they were going in to replace a lightbulb for you. We understand how this must have made you feel but please be assured these were not our intentions at all. We hope you still enjoyed your stay regardless of these and we would love to be able to invite you back in the future. - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "'The property is perfect and in a great location."

We travelled to many parts of the south coast from here. There is everything you need. Everything had been thought of. We found the property to be very clean and smelt lovely. The beds are comfortable and linen lovely. Parking was great - enough space for two cars. I drive a Navara and still had plenty of space to get it parked with another car next to mine. It’s a beautiful place port Isaac and Pendragon House is a perfect place to stay, made even better that my 4 legged best friend was able to come along. We will 100% be returning. Thank you so for having us & for our bottle of wine!'

  • "The house is tired and needs better cleaning."

I spoke to John Bray locally who you sublet from. The towel rail in upstairs bathroom is not working and outside the back door was filthy. This was swept when I complained. The sofas are tired and need a hoover. The pouffe in the lounge needs its cover removing and cleaning. The beds need to be swept under as does the sofa. The windows are not being cleaned inside, there were sticky hand marks on the lounge windows. The house is in a good position and has lots of equipment but it is in need of painting and better cleaning.

  • "'A really beautiful holiday cottage situated at top of Port Isaac & equidistant to Port Gaverne."

Excellently situated with the luxury of 2 car parking spaces!. Wonderfully designed interior to make the most of the building...3 bath/shower rooms to compliment the 3 bedrooms which were all extremely comfortable & with lovely crisp white linen. The owners appear to have thought of everything & we appreciated the seating area at end of hallway to take off shoes etc to deposit in the Shoe Box to make everything tidy & easily accessible. Loved the kitchen, which is extremely spacious & exceptionally well equipped as was the living room which was cosy & comfortable with many cushions & throws. We didn't need to use the log burner as the sun shone for 7 days, but a great addition for those who may have cooler weather. First grandson appreciated the many birds who frequented the next door garden (aged 12 months) & provided aerial displays for us first thing in the morning~ He was mesmerised. We really liked the star lights in the kitchen! We have stayed in many cottages in Port Isaac, over the years & Pendragon House is outstanding, certainly one of the best. Thankyou for a wonderful week away~ We had a great time visiting Padstow, Mevagissey, Charlestown, St.Ives, Eden & Polzeath & enjoyed many walks around the harbour. Dinner @ The Mote House by the harbour in Port Isaac is highly recommended by my son & partner who enjoyed it immensely. Doc Martin is currently on Location Shooting & there are a few familiar faces around & about. We noted the Director of Doc Martin stayed for a lengthy period @ Pendragon & there is an interesting file in the cottage to peruse. Overall, 5 * ~Thanks again! We would definitely rebook & highly recommend. The Langmans' Sheffield S.Yorkshire'.

  • "Pendragon is a great cottage in a superb location slightly away for the busy centre but literally a five minutes walk."

The best feature is two parking spaces crucial in Port Isaac and handy for loading and unloading. There is no garden or outside space however most evenings we sat down in the harbour which is stunning. The cottage is in a tiny courtyard with a book / gift shop and a fresh fish restaurant which is extremely popular. We were concerned we may have noise from the shops but nothing at all . The house was very well equipped great size bedrooms . We found the house had unexplained noises at night and wondered if it may be haunted !!! A great stay in a beautiful part of the country and central for many beautiful beaches. If you are planning on eating out book in advance . Recommend the Mote and the School House restaurant also Pilchards in Port Gaverne .

  • "You need to provide information on how to work the television."

You also need to explain that there is a hook on the wall in the parking area for the wetsuits. One of the local shop owners explained it to us. You gave a map for the house and parking but it would be better if you said *turn immediately left after the shop*. Another very small thing. When we arrived and throughout our visit after the house had been closed up there was a slight fish smell. This can sometimes be an electrical fault. We loved the ease of where the house was and the local co-op was very handy. Thanks for making everything right for a perfect holiday.

The property

Pendragon House is a contemporary holiday cottage in Port Isaac, ideally situated between the old fishing harbour, and also the beach of Port Gaverne, both within an easy five minute walk.

Offering stylish and contemporary accommodation, a particular feature of the property are the spectacular views that stretch out to sea.

Pendragon House is the perfect getaway for a group of friends, or the whole family including a canine companion, looking for a coastal base from which to explore the North Cornwall coast.

Designed with the views in mind, the sociable living space is located on the first floor with sea views towards Tregardock from the sitting room and rural views over to Roscarrock Hill from the kitchen.

Flooded with natural light, the first floor is the ultimate place to relax after a long day exploring the coast; sink down into one of the comfortable sofas in front of the open fire, or prepare a home cooked meal in the well-equipped custom-made, hand painted kitchen.

The third bedroom and separate shower room are also situated on this floor, whilst the ground floor offers two generous sized bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, and the other with an en-suite bathroom and separate shower.

All of the bedrooms have zip and link beds providing either super king-size beds, or two single beds for added flexibility. Guests can enjoy a wealth of doorstep adventures from Pendragon House.

Walk out onto Lobber Point and follow the South West Coast Path over the cliff tops towards Port Quin and the bays of Epphaven and Lundy - finishing up at ‘Fresh from the Sea’ café, just a stone’s throw from Pendragon House’s front door.

Food lover’s will not be disappointed, with Nathan Outlaw’s Michelin Star restaurant just a short stroll away.

Whilst there is so much to see and do by foot, further afield, the town of Wadebridge and the thriving village of Rock (8 miles) is well worth exploring, as are the popular beaches of Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Rock, with a foot ferry across to Padstow.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
