  • "Well positioned property."

Neighbours friendly. On entry we had to clean all the worktops in bathroom, kitchen & living room, they were not clean. For the last 3 days the builders moved in downstairs and drilled and hammered until 6 or 7pm. The last thing we wanted was the noise of a building site all day. Wasn’t what we expected.

  • "Firstly its a nice place to be, spotlessly clean and very quiet area."

The bad points. We could not get the heaters to work. The sofas were very uncomfortable. The TV is 2 small. The Bathroom needs re doing taking away the jacuzzi bath and re modelling the shower, its far 2 small as it is. That's about it. Don't get me wrong for what we payed and over the Christmas period it was good value.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and we are pleased to hear that you found the property lovely and clean. The property is presented as depicted in the photos on the listing and the TV was selected to suit the size of the room. The heaters are new electric heaters and as such they are quite user-friendly - nevertheless we will ensure they are checked! Property Owner

  • "The property wasn’t cleaned adequately."

The only space to store our bags was under the single beds and they came out dirtier than they went in. One of the single beds didn’t have a fitted sheet so we had to remake the bed every day. The weather was wet and there was nowhere to dry our washing. It didn’t dry inside, we ended up having to put the heaters on and it took 2 days for things to dry. The fridge was small and had not been defrosted so froze all our food that was at the back of the fridge.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear you had a few issues, should you have contacted us during your stay we would have been happy to help. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay. Property Owner

  • "Big mistake!"

! No cleaning products available upon arrival including bathroom soap, just the one bin bag that was in the bin. Grotty used washing up sponge and cloth on the sink. Sticky dining table that stunk of fish oil, I later realised the sofa stunk of the same. The stink and stickiness. won’t go. It must be a dodgy varnish. Dirty fridge. We went straight to Asda in Hayle to buy a trolley full of cleaning products to clean the filthy place. The vacuum cleaner worked but poorly and stunk the place out upon each use. The bathroom tap is so stiff it sprays water everywhere as it’s default so the kids were soaked each time. We washed the cutlery, plates and glasses we were going to use and washed them in the dishwasher before we used anything. Drawers and lamps were broken. The shower was gross. In the end we left a full day early. The kids were upset but we had reached our limit. We left it much cleaner than we had found it. The location is perfect and parking is great. The beds were comfortable. These were the only positives. It’s genuinely put me off returning to Cornwall. Last years stay in a gorgeous cottage in Hayle was so perfect that we had to return. As it was unavailable we decided to stay in Carbis Bay as St Ives is more accessible from there. Shocked at how bad it was. Have now found and read many other similar reviews on from Trustpilot. I wish I had read these before. WORST PLACE EVER for a family stay.

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to see that you didn't get in touch to raise any of these concerns during your holiday. Our team were there to quality-check the property prior to your arrival so were surprised to see your review. Needless to say, the property will be checked again with your feedback in mind. • "The apartment was great just what we wanted."

Only a couple of things disappointing. The lounge suite was uncomfortable. Or it was for my wife and I others may disagree. Heating was adequate could do with a plumbed in system rather than portable heaters. Otherwise a really nice place to stay.

  • "The cottage was lovely and easy to find."

We just found the surfaces to be a bit grimy and in need of a spring clean. There was limited cleaning products available, so we went and bought some to give the place a once over on the first day. From there on it was smooth sailing and we loved every minute of it.

It was very well equipped. The location was ideal and facilities on the beach for hiring boards etc was a bonus. Lovely coastal walk to St Ives and Hayle.

Comfortably furnished, the open plan living space spans the front aspect and there are two neat bedrooms at the back with ample storage which share a modern bathroom with a spa bath.

There is a little balcony with furniture at the front of the apartment as well as a small communal garden.

Carbis Bay is a coastal village with a good range of local shops and restaurants and a cafe overlooking the beach making it the perfect base for a fun filled family break.

Magical St Ives is within twenty minutes walk along the undulating coastal path or just a couple of minutes by train from the nearby branch line station.

This picturesque harbour town is a maze of tiny cobbled lanes with quaint shops and breath-taking seaside vistas.

Bask in the sunshine at one of the quayside eateries and enjoy the amazing view across to Godrevy Lighthouse.

A well kept secret, Porth Kidney Sands can be reached at low tide around Hawkes Point to the east of Carbis Bay and if you are lucky you may have it all to yourselves.

Make sure you take supplies though as there is no cafe here.

For rainy day entertainment take the children to Paradise Park in nearby Hayle, a wildlife and bird sanctuary with an indoor play centre.
