  • "The front door was jammed and so couldn't be opened."

we .only one set of keys to the patio that worked, and the washbasin in the main bathroom wouldn't retain water. Otherwise a very pleasant and comfortable stay.

Really appreciated allowing dogs. Many thanks.

  • "Very nice property."

Let down by first impression of a lot of dogs mess left in the garden area. We have dogs ourselves but always clean up after them. We had to clean 8 poo bags of mess. Other than this the car parking space is very small. We thorougly enjoyed the property and location.

  • "A lovely house with unbeatable views across the river valleys."

The parking space was just a fit for our Astra. The front garden fence was a little too low to be classed as enclosed for our dog. Very friendly neighbours who made us feel very welcome. Nearest dog friendly beach is at Seaton but fabulous walks in the woods around the rivers. The weather was kind to us considering it was mid October 22

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed a week here, especially since we got lucky with the weather in October."

It's a very comfortable, well-equipped house with lovely views over the valley. Despite being a short walk (albeit steep) to the busy town, the house is peaceful and quiet. Looe itself was great. Being able to head along to the coast, along a river or through woodland makes it a great location for walking. The car parking space was a little too small for our car (Skoda Octavia estate for reference) but we had no trouble finding space to park on the road. Some instructions what to do with things like bedding and towels on the day we left would have been helpful.

It’s not detached as advertised, it’s a semi detached. The maid turned up on the Saturday at 9:30AM, quite cross as she told us that we should have been out by 9AM. I assured her it was 10 AM but she wasn’t very happy about it. I had to show her the email from Sykes that stipulated 10AM

The bin collection doesn't work as the new clients shouldn't be expected to put out previous clients rubbish. Cleaner needs to do this or invest in plastic bins at the bottom of stairs ready for collection.

It was a lovely house and we had a lovely time it just felt very odd that a place that allows dogs wouldn't supply a broom or hoover to pick up the dog hair

About the location

LOOE

Polperro 5 miles.

Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. You can also catch the river taxi between East and West Looe. East Looe has narrow cobbled streets, twisting alleyways and plenty of tourist shops, whilst West Looe has a lovely outlook across the harbour. Looe’s viewpoint, Banjo Pier, can be reached from the quay and is a great spot to watch the returning fishing trawlers and look across the bay to Looe Island, which can be walked to occasionally at very low tides. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. There is also a great rock pool area at Hannafore that children will love. West Looe has a Heritage Centre that recently opened in the Old Sardine Factory with a climbing wall and a cafe and the delightful Kilminorth Woods have way marked walks through the majestic oak wood, rich in plant, insect and bird life. Apart from beach activities in this part of south east Cornwall, there are many mining remains on Bodmin Moor and in the Tamar Valley and much of the mining landscape has World Heritage status. This area of Cornwall has inspired writers, such as Daphne du Maurier and much of Bodmin Moor has inspired legends linked with King Arthur. There is much to explore in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
