Beautiful apartment, comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well appointed. We loved the location, close to the river and village. Access by train was excellent and had we had more time, we could have explored further. Great walks nearby. Hamish loved the dog treats as we did the other treats! We really hope to come back soon.

Lostwithiel is in such a great spot…30 mins to loads of cool places. Also, Lostwithiel feels like a proper community spirited place…friendly pubs and shops. Accommodation is great, really nice artwork, quite spot, well kitted out. Highly recommend this place if you want a comfortable base to sightsee the local area.

It has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The fittings and furnishings are of a very high quality and so is all the equipment throughout the accommodation. We had a very busy time during our stay and the supremely comfortable beds were just what we needed. Sam is a great host and left us a wonderful welcome pack with all the essentials and information we needed for our stay plus some delightful extras. • "What a pleasure to be able to stay in this very comfortable apartment and bring our dog."

In our experience dog friendly accommodation and good quality fixtures, fittings and furnishings do not usually go together. The thoughtful details here were much appreciated. This apartment is spacious and very conveniently located for the village. The railway line is nearby but did not disturb anyone in our party, instead we just appreciated the convenience of being so close to the station. I guess anyone who is looking for a scenic view from the balcony might be a little disappointed but Lostwithiel is quaint and the bridge over the river Fowey which is very close by is beautiful. In the summer the river beach there is packed with bathers. Lostwithiel does not have masses of easy parking so the apartment's location and its two designated parking spots are a great asset. We particularly appreciated the cream tea we found in the kitchen and the seasonal Christmas tree. This was a lovely venue for our family Christmas.

  • "Amazing apartment, the best equipped accommodation I’ve ever stayed in."

Great location for walking right from the doorstep but also train station on the doorstep to take you a little further afield or right down to st Ives and Penzance in barely an hour. The walks and bays along the costal path from par to Fowey on one side of the bay and then from Par to Carlyon and onto Charlestown and Duporth on the other are fabulous. Lostwithiel is a beautiful village four great pubs out favourite was the Earl Of Chatham, fabulous bakery in the village plus butchers, coffee shop and fish and chip shop. Oh and 2 curry houses and yet still so beautiful and tranquil, in fact a perfect holiday !

The owner has thought of everything u would want and need. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and the beds are very comfortable. • "Stunning apartment close to all amenities and tourist locations within the village with every conceivable cooking aid, my open criticism's would be the misleading images of the external view of the apartments - the one view shows apartments overlooking the river Fowey, whereas the view is of a 1960's factory and the railway line and the constant noise of the GWR service and the China Clay containers parked up outside for hours with there diesel engines running."

Thank you for your feedback and we are glad to hear the apartment’s facilities were to your liking. With regard to your views on the images shown, we support your response and have changed the images accordingly. These were of a nearby development called Brunel One and showed Lostwithiel’s tranquil river setting and weren’t intended to mislead anyone into showing a potential view but of the nearby picturesque town within just a few minutes’ walk. The proximity to the railway line and the more modern, quieter trains will undoubtedly result in some noise but for many is preferable to road traffic or large crowds of tourists and whilst isn’t a concern to many guests, we do appreciate the china clay train can be somewhat more annoying, although I’m happy to report most procedures are now undertaken across and further up the line. I’m sorry that during your stay you were less fortunate and heard the train nearer the apartment, which does happen from time to time. The factory opposite is the original Trewithen dairy and now houses a variety of local businesses including a brewery and distillery and I’m glad to report rarely causes any noise or other pollution. We hope that in all other respects the apartments excellent location with easy rail and road transport links, local shops and hostelries and facilities were to your liking. Property Owner

  • "We go to Cornwall a lot as a family and have stayed in some great places but Sidings tops them all!"

A recent development so everything in pristine order, every room we walked into released a ‘wow’. A really incredible property, beautifully maintained and decorated with every mod-con, gadget and utensil you could want, not just for a week or so, you could move in and not need to buy anything! Literally like staying in a show-home, the furnishings are beautiful and ‘designer inspired’ like a glossy home decor magazine. Lostwithiel is a great hub whereby all areas of Cornwall can be accessed, good local amenities, pubs, well stocked Co-op, cute little shops etc. My favourite day was when we stayed local, walked to Restormel Castle ruins then to the Duchy of Cornwall Nurseries for lunch, no car travel, just a worn out dog. Even after a really great, long day out we looked forward to getting back ‘home’ (I wish) to enjoy the property. Very impressed and very sad to leave. Made some warm memories to cherish though!

  • "Certainly well above average and very well appointed holiday accommodation, unfortunately marred slightly by the views of the commercial/industrial units immediately opposite and the constant noise from busy main railway line to Penzance just over the road."

Also, later in the week my wife was upset when we had a call from Sykes to say that they had received a complaint from a neighbour/owner that we had broken the terms of the rental by going out and leaving our dog unattended as he could hear him barking. As we NEVER go anywhere without taking him and as it is the nature of dogs to bark on occasion I can only assume that a nearby neighbour is unhappy with the way the property is being used.

Plenty of space for 3 couples. Perfect location for exploring area and close by station for train excursions. (Train noise could be a problem for some and Sunday night engineering works right opposite wasn't ideal) The welcome basket was excellent. Those little extras make it an ideal base and certainly worth another visit if in Cornwall again

  • "We had a fantastic week at the Sidings."

The place is very comfortable and very cosy. It's furnished to a high standard and it's very well equipped with everything could ever need on holiday. The only thing was the train at 5 o'clock a few mornings wasn't the best it was quite noisy (and we do live by a railway line at home so we are used to train noise) that aside it was the only slight negative and definitely wouldn't stop us staying again .....well already looking for next year.

Thank you for your feedback. The owner is glad that you had a lovely stay at their apartment. The china clay train runs about once a week and is audible from the front bedrooms with the windows open. There are plans to move it to a more distant siding. It's great to hear you are so happy with the comfort and equipment at Sidings at Brunel 2. The owner strives to make sure no guests want for anything during their stay The early morning china clay train runs on average once a week and can be audible with the windows open from the front bedrooms. The residents association along with Lostwithiel Town Council and the developer are making attempts to have this moved to the “up” siding some distance away. We look forward to seeing you again next year! Property Owner
