  • "The perfect place to completely unwind and do absolutely nothing!"

Loads to do in the local area if you want to explore. We were met by Sarah who was an absolute fantastic host, who had baked some beautiful home made Scones, with cream and Jam to go with them- A welcome sight after a long but worthwhile drive! The hardest bit of the holiday was trying to establish if you put either the cream or jam on first!

  • "We really loved our stay at the Hayloft, it’s very homely and cosy and decorated with great style."

It is very well equipped with appliances and everything else you may need. It was quite chilly when we stayed and it was lovely just to turn the heating on and it was warm in a few minutes. Lovely homemade scones and cream tea to greet you on arrival. I really recommend the Hayloft

The Hayloft was like home from home, very tidy and clean and tastefully decorated. We unfortunately had a leave a bit earlier because of family issues. I would most definitely recommend and return myself. 10/10 stars!

Would not work without a car though, and a lot of hills in all directions! Helpful but unobtrusive host.

  • "Wonderful location, well appointed and perfectly furnished - and the most perfect hosts."

Had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay - and everything worked! Very comfortable and the welcome from the hosts was most considerate. On a very wet week walking SWCP from Cremyll to Portloe, it was great to be able to come back for a hot shower and be able to relax and recover in comfort before the next day's efforts.

! From the moment you walk through the front door we felt so at home!! Such a lovely gesture was the cream tea that was waiting for us after such a long drive!! Cornwall was as lovely as it always is but the Hayloft made it all the more special and romantic with the log burner!! Will be coming back again early in 2023 and will definitely stay here again!! Thank you so much Frank & Michelle x

Sarah was wonderful and laid out an anniversary tea for us, so special. The view across the meadow was gorgeous, saw the pheasants, buzzards and a fox appeared. Cannot wait to return.

  • "I’ve already recommended The Hayloft to a friend, I was that impressed with it."

A beautiful barn conversion, hidden away in the hills of Lostwithiel, and I mean hidden. My husband and I wished we’d had more time to enjoy the barn - we only really ate our breakfasts there as we were out all day with our family, who live locally. The Hayloft had everything we needed for a stress free stay, and with a comfortable bed, a spotless bathroom and a well equipped kitchen, we wanted for nothing and hope to visit again one day. Sarah was a delight and very approachable and her cream tea was probably my favourite of our holiday - and I managed to eat 5 in a week!!!!!!

  • "This is a lovely cottage, very comfortable, and in a great location for exploring Cornwall."

The owners are very welcoming, and nice touches were the cream tea on arrival and fresh flowers throughout. There is plenty to do within a short drive of both the north and south coasts, NT properties close by plus Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan. Lostwithiel is a short walk away with great pubs, cafes and local shops. Highly recommended.

It's in peaceful and open surroundings while being a short distance from Lostwithiel and within easy reach of the many attractions of the region. I would certainly stay there again as there was so much I didn't get to see.

Set in a peaceful location and very well equipped, what set it apart for us was the attention to detail - delicious home-made cream tea waiting for us on arrival, fresh flowers in the rooms and eco-friendly products provided. Sarah was the perfect host, friendly and informative without being at all intrusive. A fly past by one of the resident barn owls one evening was the high point of our stay!

Good bed. Some nice extra touches. Great place to stay, never felt overshadowed by the property next door (The Mill). Superb surroundings, lots of really good walks. Asquith restaurants better service than on TripAdvisor. Lostwhithiel deli still a must for us. Our hosts where nearby, always on hand but never intrusive Rain or shine I recommend staying here.

It was comfortable and well equipped and our hosts Sarah and Richard were welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. Sarah’s scones were delicious with Cornish cream and jam. The location is ideal for visits to both north and south coasts but beware your Satnav at times, NB the Crown Inn and Bedruthan Steps. • "The Hayloft is wonderful, and the owners, Sarah and Richard, are really friendly and accommodating - while at the same time leaving guests to their own devices."

The property itself is neatly laid out, comfortable, well maintained, and well equipped. It really is a home from home! Access is via a long private drive and parking is easy (being adjacent to the property). We loved the splendid isolation and being surrounded by the tranquil countryside - while being within a short drive of both the north and south coasts. This meant we were really spoiled for choice as far as things to do and places to visit are concerned. We had days out at Lanydrock, Looe, Fowey, Tintagel, St Ives (by train) and not forgetting Lostwithiel which is on the doorstep and is definitely worth exploring - as well as being good for daily provisions and eateries. I never give a place 10/10 as usually there is always room for improvement. However, I can't think of any reason to give the Hayloft anything but a 10! If there was ever a perfect model for a self-catering experience, then this is it. Thanks Sarah and Richard. Your passion and hard work have really paid off. Best wishes, Steve & Anne
