“We were a bit upset to find we didn't have any hot water on arrival!”

After a very long journey a hot shower would have been welcome! It took until the following day for hot water to happen. Apart from that the cottage was great but a little further away from civilisation than we had realised. A pack of local info would have been useful as well as maps of local walks etc. And why no Wi Fi in this day and age!! Also it was very dark walking back from the restaurant at night. Why no proper lighting?

“Delighted on arrival the cottage lived up to expectations.”

“This cottage is adequate but along with many other guests comments, the mattresses on the beds are very uncomfortable.”

It seems that no attention is given to previous guests comments. Such a shame because reviews would be better if a fact sheet was provided. We took a while to find the internet code. Also I was taken ill while there and there were no details about hospitals or nearest doctor etc. These simple things would be so helpful. Some of the light bulbs had failed and the kitchen extractor fan did not work. These are niggles and so easy to put right.

“The booking was simple with Sykes, we were happy with the price, the accommodation was excellent BUT the later customer service from Sykes was terrible.”

I tried repeatedly to phone you, but could never get through. I was worried that as we were due to arrive after 17.00 on a Friday, that if there were any issues on arrival, ( ie key safe ) I wanted to know that I could call someone. I tried at various times on different days and never got through to you, so I cannot imagine I would have got through after 17.00 on a Friday. I cannot imagine using your services again.

“All round, a very good holiday.”

We had 1 issue - Heating in the property was unpredictable. No hot water on 2 separate days (irritating with 2 small children) and radiators on full for 24 hours after being turned off.

“Broken fridge, broken light, worn and stained carpet downstairs.”

These and other complaints have all been highlighted in the visitors book over the past years and not addressed. The immersion heater was not capable of heating a bathful of water even using the manual boost. The sofas are well past their sell-by date - not comfortable and smell of dog. However the cottages at Pendra Loweth are ideal for break in Falmouth. This is our second cottage with you, perhaps we will try a different one next year!!

“A great shame the heating had not been put on and being storage heater downstairs, the house was cold.”

Needs an update in places. Decoration in bathroom makes it feel dirty and slick of paint would see that right. Dripping shower head very annoying. Great to have a washing machine. Perhaps more practical flooring is required knowing it is a dog friendly cottage. Location excellent. Used Pendra Loweth as a base many times.

“The crockery had not been washed and was filthy, the DVD player did not work, the shower is very old/filthy and dripped all night (we had to wrap a towel around it) and the furniture is dreadfully uncomfortable which after a 10 mile walk isn't great.”

We left early on Sunday. Very disappointing

Intermittent signal aĺl week. However it did not impact on the overall excellent facilities in the cottage. will def be booking again. one of the best holiday this year.

“As a dog owner you get used to staying in all sorts of accommodation with your pet.”

The pictures looked lovely and description met my criteria, however I was left disappointed. The carpets were stained, the paintwork bashed, some of the kitchen units also bashed. Upstairs the lampshades had a thick layer of dust. The dvd player didn't work neither could I get the heating to come on (luckily I always take a fan heater). I didn't report to reception about it as i'm on holiday trying to enjoy myself. The staff behind the bar were very friendly. The owner needs to address the issues i've mentioned, I know it''s a holiday let, but I still expect a level of clenliness etc and this wasn't met, there were also only 2 manuals, 1 for oven the other for microwave, not much good for heating etc.

“The cottage was clean on arrival.”

We received a phone call on our way telling us that the fridge and washing machine were not working properly and to leave the keys in the key safe so that they could be repaired. Neither item was fixed during our stay and both were replaced as we were leaving. When you book a property with both items you expect them to work. The washing machine stopped during the cycle and we were left with wet washing. The bed was very uncomfortable and could do with a new mattress, the 2 sofas were also uncomfortable and creaked quite a lot. The outside area could do with some comfortable chairs to enjoy the sunshine. There is a picnic table but it is not very comfortable to sit at for long periods of time.

Most of the properties being dog friendly make it not only an ideal base to explore the surrounding countryside but provide a very comfortable and relaxing environment to unwind. The setting, in well maintained gardens, makes the perfect place to have that well earned rest.

The facilities at the cottage and location far exceeded expectations. and I can find nothing to complain. about. The location was superb for getting around . Staff at the complex very friendly and our two little dogs had a great time .safe clean and overall for 1st time visit will definitely be booking with Sykes again and again. Well done for making our stay extremely pleasent.

It is set in a lovely location. Just a couple of niggles, the sofas are uncomfortable, and the toaster you need to hold the lever down until the toast is cooked. Other than that the bed was comfortable and having the outside space is lovely. We enjoyed it so much we plan to book again.
