  • "Fantastic place to stay."

Very clean when we arrived. Lovely property even with a small seating area and BBQ outside. Kitchen was large and fully equipped. Location was great. Easy to get to main routes around Cornwall but on a quiet holiday park. And location within holiday park was great too, close to the main building but still very quiet. Would highly recommend this property.

  • "Chyandour is a lovely cottage, beautifully decorated and furnished."

Very comfortable beds and sofa. Good TV and other facilities. Great sized kitchen. Excellent shower in the en-suite (I can't stand low water pressure, and you had us covered - literally!). One of the best we have stayed at in Pendra Loweth (this is our 14th visit - a home from home). I would definitely book this cottage again.

  • "This was our 30th+ stay on the Pendra Loweth site in the last 20 years but the first in Chyandour as our usual cottages were both unavailable this time."

Chyandour was comfortable with a good layout BUT not very clean: • thick layer of dust around edges / skirtings of bedrooms • thick layer of dust on light fittings and extractor fans / cobwebs • missing glass shelf over basin in main bathroom - remaining brackets dangerous- as reported by a previous guest • dead flea type insects on mattresses • stains on some cushions • hot water so scalding hot that it was dangerous even with showers on full cold they were too hot • some crockery chipped and glasses cracked • sticky surfaces especially TV cabinet front / doors • bathroom floors "sticky" especially around WC pans • heated towel rail in downstairs cloakroom did not work In summary, standard of housekeeping very poor. Are the owners aware?? Would only use this cottage again if it is deep cleaned.

  • "Very well appointed and equipped property."

Kitchen was very well supplied, good quality crockery and cutlery. Fabulous to have WiFi and Netflix on TV. The site is so quiet, slept very well. Food and drink in the cafe/bar was excellent and convenient. Tiny fly in the ointment was the toilet seat in the en suite. Pinched my leg on the seat every time! As the actual seat was broken. The glass shelf in the main bathroom was also missing. Would definitely recommend

  • "Lovely place to stay,we have stayed here before but we're a bit disappointed this time with the cleanliness,I noticed something under the sideboard while I was sitting on the sofa so got down to have a look and it was a book,a piece of jigsaw and a foam butterfly and lots of dust and crumbs."

2 of the bedroom windows and the dining room mirror had heavy smears over them as if they had been wiped but with a dirty cloth. My husband also said he was unable to get any of the shaver points to work. Its a real shame about these things because as I said at the beginning it really is a lovely place to stay.

  • "The cottage is lovely as is location."

Our grandson enjoyed watching the robot lawnmower all holiday. We were disappointed with the en-suite as this really does need the grouting looking at, we ended up not using the en-suite due to this as it did not feel clean. The property needs a really good clean the edges have a large build up of dust and stains on the kitchen floor by the dishwasher . I think the owners are being let down by their cleaners as if it had been cleaner it would have been perfect. We even swept up long blonde hair from the floor. Shame as the owners have provided everything you need for a wonderful stay even paints and colouring material for children.

Thank you for your feedback that we always welcome and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your holiday. We have been in contact with the cleaning company and will make sure that all points you raised are rectified. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Chyandour."

The cottage is extremely well-equipped and tastefully decorated, with lovely touches such as a coffee machine, top-of-the-line stereo system, an excellent Smart TV, and comfortable patio furniture. The property made for a fantastic base to explore the region. Pendra Loweth itself is peaceful and relaxing, and we would love to stay here again. Although the property was spotlessly clean, some of the fixtures and fittings (especially in the upstairs bathrooms) could do with being replaced - some toilet seats were loose, and the bath and shower seals would look dirty no matter how much they were cleaned. The beds were all comfortable and clean. Overall, this is the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in, and we would highly recommend this property to anybody wishing to stay in Falmouth.

  • "Excellent holiday home, and very well maintained."

During our stay, we did note the following which may require owners attention. 1. Extractor fan in master bedroom en-suite, was not working. 2. Wash machine made terrible noise when on spinning mode. Not sue if loose balancing weights are to blame? 3. The main sofa in the lounge, left hand side has you look, still has some stain marks on it. Other than that, all was found in good condition, very warm accommodation during those cold nights. Definitely will be booing again, perfect location and excellent condition.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback and your lovely comments. We are glad that you had an enjoyable stay. The extractor fan is being replaced. We will arrange for someone to take a look at the washing machine. The sofa was professionally cleaned not long ago, so the sofa will be checked. We look forward to welcoming you back to the property again, hopefully in the not too distant future. Property Owner

It was spotlessly clean, every kitchen utensil you could think of. The beds were lovely and comfy, big fluffy white bath towels and brilliant showers. Tasteful decor, well tended shared garden area with outdoor seating area and bbq. Ideal base to visit anywhere in Cornwall. We had lovely days out to Carbis Bay Beach (a bit pricey for parking), Gylly Beach, Perranporth and Swanpool. A shopping trip to Truro and a visit to the Cathedral is a must. Falmouth is a lovely place to shop, eat or browse. We enjoyed afternoon tea at Dolly's Tearoom and Gin place. We've stayed within 8 miles of Falmouth for the last 12 years and love it. Thank to the owners of Chyandour for allowing us to stay in their beautiful holiday home, we will be back..

  • "We read the comments of previous visitors and anything wrong with the cottage had still not been rectified."

The double bed slats were broken so we fixed them as best we could. The sofa smelled bad and was dirty and needs a clean desperately. The single bed duvets were summer weight and too small, so we were cold at night. Those things aside, the house was very nice and clean and comfortable and we enjoyed ourselves. Just worth paying attention to maintenance.

We would like to thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback regarding your stay at Chyandour. We are very sorry to hear that you encountered these issues and pleased to confirm that the double bed has now been repaired and the sofa has undergone a deep clean. The owner will also be checking on the single bed duvets before the start of the 2020 season. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "The location was perfect."

Just a short way (by car for me but by foot for my daughter) to the nearest beach and Falmouth town centre. The setting, in Pendra Loweth, was excellent. Beautiful communal gardens and private terrace with high quality garden furniture and barbeque. The cottage, attractively styled in grey and white, was clean and bright. The kitchen was outstanding. Adequately equipped for six guests so big pans, roasting tins, carving knives etc. we're there in the kitchen cupboards. The dishwasher stopped working after one load but phone call to Sykes Cottages resulted in next day engineer call out and repair was done. Bedrooms were good and en suite to master bedroom had powerful shower. Somewhere to hold shampoo and soap would have been welcomed. This was a perfect holiday cottage. Sykes Cottages were efficient, supportive and easy to contact when needed. I would recommend their service to others.
