  • "Cottage was well equipped and the site was lovely, couldn’t use the gym Saturday or Sunday due to the office being closed (we weren’t told this before staying) and we were only able to have very short showers with at least 20 minutes in between each one as the water would run out."

There were blood stains found on the bedding on the first day, as we had earlier check out and late check in times I would have expected this to be immaculate.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback and we are sorry and disappointed to hear you were unhappy with certain aspects of your stay particularly in light of the effort we make to ensure guests have a comfortable and pleasant holiday in our home. The current procedures for use of the gym are out of our control but were implemented to avoid too many people trying to use the limited facilities at the same time. Our shower is recently fitted and we have had no problems with the amount of water available nor with the temperature so can only speculate as to the problem you had. When you mentioned the issue at the office the Manager arranged for our plumber to visit the cottage and he confirmed everything was functioning properly. Any issues with the cleanliness of linen are obviously serious and we are sorry for this. We are aware that our housekeeper calls on guests once they have arrived to check that everything is ok. They have confirmed you seemed happy and did not tell them about any problems. It is a shame you didn't make use of our private email to alert us to your concerns earlier or take the opportunity to tell the housekeeper about the issue with the bedding. We would have been happy to change the linen and discuss other issues at the time Property Owner

Apart from that the cottage was good.

  • "The description doesnt mention downstairs cloakroom so that was a bonus."

Lovely estate. Beautifully kept. Great walking all around and easy to walk to Maenporth Beach and into Falmouth itself.

  • "Our yearly visit to pendra."

Such a perfect spot to get away from it all. Walk to maenporth beach. On site bar and play area. First time at Hawthorne and what a lovely little place it is. The best 2 bed home we’ve stayed in so far. A few things have wear and tear like cupboard handles broken but trivial things. Would have been nice to have garden chairs for the evening in the garden instead of the bench’s but that’s a personal preference.

  • "We have been pleasantly surprised at how well equipped your accommodation is!"

Upon our arrival we found the site with ease and did not realise how big the complex was. As a family our stay was extremely enjoyable and we managed to explore lots of different areas. Our biggest regret was not booking for 2 weeks! The house was so lovely that we had all mentioned we could easily live there! Obviously in these uncertain times we weren’t sure how our stay would be affected, but it wasn’t at all! We would be keen to book for August next year and wondered if we have to book online or can contact you directly?! Sorry for the essay, but I wanted you to know how happy your “home from home” made us! Many thanks Laura & Ryan Duckworth

  • "The only downside is that we were unable to get into the accommodation until 4pm."

We felt this a little late and our request for earlier admission was denied. We had travelled from Nottinghamshire the night before and would have appreciated not having to wander around Falmouth for the day, trying to fill in time. Apart from this, we were delighted with the property, its location and the price of the holiday. Although, I think that we could have stayed here for an extra 2 nights, for the same price. Would have been nice to have been made aware of this.

  • "Sykes Cottages are always our go to place for looking for cottages and again they didn't disappoint."

The holiday was easy to book and when we arrived to say we were very happy is an understatement. Everything we needed was there from all the kitchen utensils you could ever need to instruction booklets for every appliance (and I mean every one). The cottage was toasty warm, beds were made and clean towels all laid out for us. There was even milk, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits which we took advantage of before unpacking. It really did feel like home and we were sad when the week came to an end. My only fear is that so many people will want to book this cottage now that we might not get the opportunity to book it again.

  • "We wanted somewhere where we could feel safe with our 2 year old girl and where we had facilities to use if we wanted."

In the end we didn’t use the bar, pool or restaurant but it was good to have that option and a holiday village felt safe as far as traffic goes. A great central location to explore Cornwall and a peaceful location.

  • "My holidays are always a success!"

I have stayed in this holiday park before; i rented 2 separate cottages. Just a short break here in Falmouth. I liked staying on Pendra Loweth - it is peaceful and the properties are kept to a high standard of cleanliness. Hawthorne Cottage was a bit more crowded compared with my previous cottage. It has a large table taking up space plus a book case.In the bedrooms it is difficult to open the wardrobe doors as they are flush onto bedside cabinets. The neighbours were quite loud at this end of the holiday park, although no disturbance at night . The cleaning staff kindly ferried my suitcase as I am recovering from a broken wrist. The second cottage was lovely simple & not overly crowded.
