  • "Had a truly fantastic stay at Morton Cottage."

We were lucky to book for 3 weeks for our honeymoon and we couldn't have chosen a nicer place. The cottage was so clean and tidy and was tastefully done. It was well equipped too with everything you would need for your stay. We went in early autumn and the holiday site was very peaceful and quiet, in fact i never saw anyone else in the communal garden area the whole time! The cottage is so close to falmouth and surrounding beaches, which we enjoyed. I would like to big thank you to the owners for letting us stay in their beautiful home. We will certainly return in the future.

  • "Cottage was very comfortable and well located on a quiet holiday village."

We had a lovely stay and would book again however, I would suggest that more attention is paid by the housekeeper. The amount of spiders and cobwebs that I hoovered up on arrival was crazy, not a problem for some but my daughter is terrified of spiders. The cottage could also benefit from a little tlc, it is definitely looking a little tired in places but this didn't spoil our enjoyment. Overall a lovely cottage

Dear Guest, We very sorry that you needed to sweep up spiders when you arrived. Our cleaner is normally very efficient but we have referred your comment to the housekeeper. As for the cottage looking tired you will understand, I am sure, that the amount of TLC that can be shown in the few hours of a change over is limited, during a very busy season. We do our very best to maintain the property. We are glad you enjoyed your holiday. Property Owner

Listing said short walk to beach which was incorrect it was a good 7-10 minute drive to nearest one. Didn’t know it was narrow road to site!! But…good location point, good facilities and nice house.

Thank you for your feedback. If there is mobile signal at the property, this will be specified and listed in the property features/amenities. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee the strength or speed of the WiFi, but nay issues mentioned during your stay will be dealt with. Our listing states that it the beach is one mile, which is about a 7 minute drive. Property Owner

On the positive the double bed was very comfortable and this ensured a good nights sleep for us both. Please get the decorators in and clean the windows inside and out, not to mention the dust on the top of the picture on the stairs!!! This is the third property i have stayed in at Pendra Loweth and it needs some TLC

Thank you for your feedback. Your comments have been passed on to the housekeeper. The windows however are cleaned every 3 weeks. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely and comfortable."

(And extremely clean) The owners have thought about absolutely everything to make it feel like a home from home. They had everything from dishwasher tablets to towels and bedding. Normally when we go away to places in the UK we have to take things like tin foil, cooking oil but this was all provided. All we really needed was our clothes and food. We had one problem while we where there. The TV broke down. After we reported it the owner was very prompt and arrived that day with a brand new smart TV. They respected social distancing. I would highly recommend staying in this lovely well kept cottage.

  • "Its been a long time since we did self catering in the uk, when cottage provisions were very basic."

We were pleasantly surprised how well equipped the cottage was with a lot of duplicated kitchen stuff. The property was very clean & well maintained and they use a laundry service so a plus in our view re combatting covid germs. We would have liked some laminated walk routes from the cottage to the sea, which could be wiped down after each visit and had to rely on goggle maps. A small wish on our wish list would have been a larger fridge, as the shops are some distance away. Perhaps on the list when a refurb is due. The tv reception was not brilliant with ghosting, so we resorted to playing cards a lot. We loved the exotic planting around the site, and really appreciated the planting as we are great gardeners. We did a lot of lovely trips to the Lizard, Trebah gardens & to see the seals at Gweek. Overall a lovely property in a nice setting and a good base for visiting places. Mrs Mccrave- Sept 2020

Staff in restaurant/bar lovely as always. Great new play area for the children. Morton is a lovely home, similar set up to the others. From staying at other properties. The only down sides of staying at the property with a young child would be: No washing machine. With a child, it’s evenings in, rather than going out. So TV is important. The Tv was difficult to watch on an evening due to lines through the screen. A smart tv with apps for Netflix, prime etc would be a good addition and gives families more options. Overall a nice place to stay.

I would definitely stay there again and I have no hesitation in recommending the cottage. Everything you need for a week away was there and free use of a tennis court!! Set in a small village of cottages, it was great for families or couples of all ages. Swanpool beach was the best!! Hooked on the Rocks was great for food & drinks and Trelowarren Arms was great for Sunday lunch & mid week meal. Minack theatre & beach visit was incredible and we never miss an opportunity to visit St Michael's Mount when we’re in the area...we visit Cornwall every year and will be back!!

  • "It was a really good location."

Quiet and secluded but close enough to Falmouth and the beaches. My little boy loved the garden at the back and enjoyed the visits from the local rabbits and robins. It really could do with some WiFi in the property to plan trips etc (particularly as the 3G/4G signal was almost non-existent) but a week without it was no bad thing. Some small gripes was the bath mat and toys had a bit of mould on them so were unused (and should really be replaced) and the bed was a very soft (could feel the springs underneath). We really had no issues though and found it to be a very pleasant and enjoyable place to spend some time.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. We are pleased to let you know that the property now has WiFi. Property Owner

Hope to stay again as we are regular visitors to Falmouth my son and his family live just up the road. My only negative is that there was no wi fi in the cottage, it didn't spoil anything for us just a bit disappointing, it might be worth mentioning this in the advertising of the cottage, if it is and I totally missed it, please accept my apologies. • "Just wanted to give you a little feed back my our experience at Morton Cottage."

Over all we have had a fine stay here, the holiday village set up is nice, very pretty and peaceful. The cottage looks very beautiful, the inside looks set out nicely with the open plan design. However there were a few things which did let our stay down. Our daughter is 3 and she has quite a phobia of crawling things, so every morning coming down stairs to approximately 30 ants running around the dinning area really wasn’t ideal (no food had been left on the floor etc, we brushed up every evening), we couldn’t work out what was causing the influx every morning, there is a considerable gap between the front door and frame so I can only imagine they come in through there. A holiday is so lovely to get away from every day pressures and stresses, having no signal on our phones was very nice, completely understandable that this is more than likely part and parcel of Cornwall, however the cottage also lacked and WiFi, which again is nice to have that break from any reality but not being able to make or receive a single phone call unless walking to the top of the complex was far from ideal. I think a small amount of internet access would have made the world of difference, that peace of mind that I would be able to hear from home if somebody needed me. It wasn’t advertised that Morton Cottage had WiFi, but equally if wasn’t suggested that it didn’t either. Just a quick note incase the house keepers / owners aren’t aware the lounge lights when the dimmer switch is pressed a sparking noise is heard and the light flickers. This resulted in interference with the tele and radio also, so potentially an electrical issue here somewhere. Lastly just a very small point, loved how this Cottage seemed to advise it was child friendly with the toys, games and ‘treasures’ in the cottage, the high chair and cot bed use. Which can be so hard to find and seemed ideal so the little ones wouldn’t need to take a whole cars worth of toys to keep them entertained in the evenings. Although this was very much the truth, there were also so many lovely ornaments everywhere. Which I completely understand makes the place look homely and adds to the character etc but my gosh was it hard work stoping any thing from getting dropped, pulled off, and generally played with that didn’t need to be. Although we still enjoyed our first family holiday, and have a new found love for Cornwall and will most definitely be back, we won’t be heading back to Morton Cottage with my young family, no criticism intended here just simply wanted to give some feed back from a family with young children, which I felt this cottage was advertised for.

The property

A welcoming and well-equipped family home set in a quiet corner of the Village of Gardens holiday complex at Pendra Loweth, Morton Cottage is just a short drive from Falmouth.

Located at the end of a terrace near the onsite tennis courts and a pathway leading down to Maenporth beach, the cottage backs on to a streamside path and enjoys a pleasant aspect.

On the ground floor is a well-equipped kitchen and an open plan dining and lounge area, from where, doors lead out on to a west facing patio complete with outdoor table and chairs – the perfect spot for sunny breakfasts and somewhere to relax whilst the children play on the shared lawn beyond.

On the first floor are two comfortable bedrooms; the twin room aimed at children but perfectly suitable for adults too.

The family bathroom is also located on the first floor.

Morton Cottage has been equipped very much with the family in mind, and guests will no doubt enjoy the games, toys, books and films left by the owners.

The Village of Gardens itself is also ideal for young families, with a small plunge pool and children’s play area onsite, as well as the tennis courts and a Jacuzzi (seasonal opening times).

When you want to explore further, the sheltered beaches at Maenporth and Swanpool are very popular with families and offer good conditions for bathing and kayaking – and the town of Falmouth is just a short drive away.

Falmouth is home to a range of shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as the National Maritime Museum, Pendennis Castle and several beautiful gardens.

A fantastic base for a family holiday throughout the year, Morton Cottage is a great option for those seeking a combination of beach and sightseeing.
