  • "This was the without doubt the best cottage we've ever stayed at."

The rooms were beautifully furnished and so well equipped it had everything possible you'd need, like a home from home. The beds were super comfortable, lovely soft and bouncy which made a welcome change from the usual firm mattresses you get in most holiday homes. We were fortunate enough to stay during the Queen's platinum jubilee and were made most welcome not only by the lovely hosts, but also by the friendly local community. An absolute gem of a cottage in good location for visiting surrounding areas of the lizard. We certainly hope to return.

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 2 Trerise Cottage Manaccan, Cornwall."

The village is a lovely place, a great local pub, which offered good value food and drink. Tuesday fish and chip night a welcome relief from cooking. The property is well presented and the great little touches of fresh flowers, and home baked chocolate fudge cakes were a lovely thought. My family and I would love to come for another break away at 2 Trerise Cottage.

The garden hose was great to have for our dog. We had a lovely time. Susie was very helpful recommending local suppliers and pubs. Gear Farm pasties were fabulous.

Lots of thought has gone into the fixture and furnishings. The garden is brilliant for dogs and totally enclosed. Lots of walks and things to see in the local area. • "The property is very cosy with everything you would need for a relaxing holiday."

Lovely safe garden for children and dogs. Located in a very picturesque area with plenty of walks from the door and even more just a short drive away. This part of Cornwall is less commercialised than other areas of Cornwall which is quite refreshing particularly in relation to car parking and public loos which operate on honesty boxes in the main. We had a fabulous holiday and are likely to return another time.

We had a great holiday despite the wet weather. Some of the instructions in the property folder could do with updating e.g. instructions for the underfloor heating in the kitchen/diner which are not correct and clearer recycling information.

  • "Trerise Cottage is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in."

It is more of a home rather than a holiday let. Exceptionally clean and comfortable - the owners have provided everything that you could possibly need! As the weather was particularly awful during our stay we spent more time in the cottage than we would have done normally so the standard of the accommodation was extremely appreciated. The location is great for reaching lots of the beauty spots and we liked being able to walk from the cottage to Helford, where there is a great place to eat, and the wonderful Frenchman's Creek. We can't praise Trerise Cottage enough and highly recommend it for a brilliant stay in Cornwall.

  • "The cottage was lovely."

It probably had everything we needed, from a washing machine to salt and vinegar for our fish and chips. It was extremely clean, probably the cleanest place we have ever rented. One of the down sides was the layout of the living room, which meant everyone trying to watch the tv was difficult because of its position. Having the tv on a bracket that swings out would probably be better. The smallest bedroom also got very hot. Even though there was a fan in there, it really needs to be a bigger fan to make a difference. Having a washing machine and washing line to hang stuff out is a necessity with a family, however we discovered the washing line could have done with being over the opposite side of the garden. It only seemed to get the sun in a morning, so after lunch time it was in the shade, which meant washing didnt dry very well.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your recent stay at 2 Trerise Cottage . We love to hear from guests about their stays at our properties. The TV bracket is a bit stiff and will be treated with WD40. The Owners have asked the neighbours to trim the Buddleia Tree to open up the garden to even more light. We are pleased that despite the points raised you enjoyed your stay at 2 Trerise Cottage. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was superb."

A real home from home. Internally you couldn’t find fault. The bed in the master bedroom was too firm for us but that’s personal taste. The kitchen had everything in it you could possibly think of. The owner was lovely and happy to answer any questions. Cottage superbly located. Lots of walks so ideal for the dog. Fantastic local pub. Very friendly and excellent food, ate there twice during the week. My only suggestion to the owner, given the beautiful weather we were blessed with, is some nice external furniture would finish the place off nicely. There’s nothing to sit on to read a book in the sun, a couple of loungers/deck chairs would have been most welcomed. Other than that it was perfect.

The workmanship and quality is also very good and of high standard. It is in a nice peaceful and quiet location, with lots of lovely walks from the doorstep,a great base to visit the beautiful Cornwall from. On arrival we had a nice little tray of brownies ,but unlike other quality cottages like this there was no welcome tray set up with milk. However that was only the minor fault as everything else was good.

The attention to detail is outstanding. The cottage was very clean and tastefully decorated. The large garden was an added bonus as we had a dog with us. Unfortunately the local pub didn't provide evening pub metals during the week only Friday's and Saturday's due to the fact that the Community has taken it over. This mattered very little there is very good food to be had in the pubs in the surrounding villages. Hope to return

Dating back to the 19th century, this smart, semi-detached cottage has been lovingly refurbished to create charming, stylish home with a distinct holiday atmosphere.

From the large, bright kitchen with dining area an internal window looks through to cosy sitting room with exposed, beamed ceiling, pretty window seats and a wood burning stove sits in a traditional Cornish inglenook.

Stairs lead to three bedrooms – a king size double with en-suite shower-room and lovely countryside views, a second double with a vaulted ceiling and beams, and a single.

Behind the cottage is an enclosed lawned garden and sitting area with barbecue, from here, far-reaching views look over fields and the rugged Lizard peninsula landscape.

¼ mile away are the magical creeks of the Helford Passage, and 1 mile away is St Anthony-in-Meneage where you can hire boats, or indulge in a little wild river swimming.

Take the foot ferry across the Helford River to the village of Helford, or the larger town of Helston with plenty of amenities, is within a short drive.

About the location

Helston 10 miles ; Helford 1.5 miles ; Porthallow 3 miles

The village of Manaccan on the South Helford is small and friendly, with an excellent restaurant, friendly village inn and a beautiful 12th century church. The South Helford is arguably one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of Cornwall. With meandering country roads, picturesque creeks, tidal inlets and pretty waterside villages, the area can be summed up in three words: tranquil, charming and timeless. The perfect spot for enjoying outdoor living, the South Helford’s sheltered coves were made for messing around on the water and strolling leisurely along the banks. Leave your ‘phone behind and embrace the simple pleasures - while away time paddling in the shallows, explore hidden coves with a hire boat from St Anthony, and stroll through woodland to enjoy a picnic on the beach.
