  • "Although this isn’t the easiest of properties to get to (very narrow one track roads) its well worth it,, the property is beautiful, tasteful decor and fantastic views across the country side and ocean."

Storage in the bedroom is lacking though especially for a longer stay and personally would have preferred a wardrobe over a bath ..but that’s only because I brought a lot of clothes. A full length mirror would be nice or a mirror close to a plug socket for hair drying. No complaints just feedback. Would definitely recommend this property it’s stunning, well equipped and relaxing.

  • "A great week at The Roost enhanced by the Sunshine though it made using the fab log burner redundant however it is a great 'looker' and feature."

The whole place oozes charm and a quality refurbishment that was worthy of the price paid. Everything we needed was available to us and the hosts friendly, welcoming and living on site were on hand should they be needed - though all was good. The Roost was a lovely place to relax and just enjoy the countryside if that was your want or reasonably placed to visit places of interest Lands End, Falmouth, St Ives, Minnack Theatre and St Micheal's Mount all with a 25 mile radius or thereabouts. Kynance Cove, a little more local, is definitely worth a visit and the Sea whilst bracing could give the Caribbean a run for its money - stunning in the Sun. If I was to recommend an enhancement, I may change the dinning table chairs for something a little more sturdy but note I'm at the upper end of the scales ! Speaking of which the Clotted Cream Scones, Dog treats and fresh flowers on the table were a lovely surprise on our arrival and together with basic condiments, tea, coffee and bathroom toiletries was a nice touch. The shared garden was fine and useful meadow for dog walking a bonus. We walked to the pub a couple of times using the lanes and footpath which was fine but care must be taken on the lanes. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend a stay here and would look to maybe book again together with one or other of the other three properties on the site for a family gathering which I believe could accommodate up to twelve folk whereby The Roost would be ideal as a Nana and Papa's bolt hole! Overall - we had a great time at The Roost and would highlighy reccommend it for a stay on the Lizard peninsula and for visiting Western Cornwall. Barry & Ellen - Kent

The place was very modern and had top of the range facilities inside. The bed was especially comfy and with the noise of the birds alone was so tranquil and ideal for a quiet break away. Situated not far from the main roads to fan out to any area. Nearby pubs and a lovely cafe to have breakfast at. The Hosts lived on site and always available if needed, very friendly and welcoming. No concerns with us bringing our house cat along who also after a day felt like she was at home. Thank you Alan and Amanda and hope to see you again next year. X

I cooked a full Easter Sunday roast without a problem. The quality of appliances and furnishings is to a high standard which was refreshing for a rental property. Gorgeous log burner which we used as storm noa battered the coast. Lovely welcome pack for us and the dogs on arrival and everything for a well needed cuppa after a long drive. Well kept garden and a great meadow for walking the dogs. Will highly recommend and would love to stay again.

It felt like home immediately. Lovely walks from the door and many more a short drive away. Once the renovation next door is finished it would be good to have the shared garden secure from the road for dogs.

Thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the property. There are no plans to make the shared garden secure from the road. However, there is a secure 2-acre field behind the property which is available to all guests to use to walk their dogs. Property Owner

This is the ideal holiday location if you want to get away from it all and enjoy the peace of the countryside. A walk to a small beach is about a mile away. You do need a car but there are plenty of beaches to get to and Falmouth, Penzance and St Ives can all be driven to easily. The location was beautiful although challenging to drive to because of the very narrow lanes leading to the cottage. The tiny lanes were to be expected and were beautiful with summer flowers but had to be negotiated slowly because of the huge number of farm vehicles also using the lanes. This was not a problem for us but something that others planning to book the cottage may wish to know. We loved the owner's art work on display in the cottage. He is really talented. One minor point. It would be good to have a full length mirror in the cottage.

Amazing views and the interior was decorated to a high speck. Comfy bed and the reclining sofa was a special touch! The cottage had only just been finished and any teething problems we had then Alan and Amanda were speedy to sort. A couple of things that we found the property may benefit from is a mirror in the bedroom by a plug. I struggled to dry my hair without a mirror and also to see what clothes looked like. Added to this was the need for a tongs and poker set for the log fire. Saying this I would highly recommend this property, beautiful setting with wildlife galore, even a pheasant wondered into the garden. Alan & Amanda were helpful and lovely people. We will definitely look to return to this property if we visit Cornwall again.
