  • "The property was nice but unloading and parking tricky."

Hadn't really appreciated that its a good 10 minute walk from the long stay car park which was £76 for the week! Garden maybe suitable for smaller dogs but our lab found the step steps a bit tricky. The nearest grass for her to do her business was also a walk. House very well equipped and clean and house keeper lovely. Share theres no fire in the main room even if it was a fake one!! Would stay again but probably not with the dog!

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Chy An Meneth. We confirm the property does not have a car park or a wood burner and both these features are not listed in the property description. Regarding the garden, the steps are quite steep as it can be seen from the images but they are safe with handrails and lights. We hope you will visit Chy An Meneth again for more lovely holidays. The team have been sympathetic and professional throughout. 10/10 for the quality from start to finish in a beautiful Cornish cottage.

  • "This cottage is a bit of a gem."

Beautifully presented and clean. We had a wonderful relaxing stay. Would have been nice to have slightly larger towels and more information on how to set the radiators, but we would definitely book a return visit. The housekeeping staff were very helpful and friendly.

  • "The cottage was spotlessly clean, decorated to a high standard and full of character."

It is on the main road, so very busy and with no front gate we were really glad that we had not taken our dogs. ( dangerous for little children too as the lock is not a Yale lock and has to be locked on entry as well as exit) the back garden is tiered , with sheer drops and not child friendly at all. Stairs are very steep but it is an old house so cant be helped The beds were a real dissapointment . The fairly thin mattress on the double bed is on wooden slats and I suffered badly with backache each morning. the 2 single beds in one room are 2'6" wide and with small duvet covers too, they are fine for children but totally unsuitable for adults. The other single bed was fine. there were no drawers at all for clothes so we used to clothes airer. car parking is just under half a mile away and costs £12.30 a day to park, £50 for a week.( we feel the distance should be made clear in the advert) instructions sparse for the TV and cooker and a few hand writen instructions would have been very welcome all in all, a lovely house but needs a few things done to make it better and safer.

Thank you for your feedback. The owners are looking to fix a gate and it does mention in the description that some areas are steep. There are wardrobes in every room that also include shelving within. The lack of parking and chargeable car park are also mentioned in the description. The owner will look to address the instructions too. Thanks again for your comments. Property Owner

  • "Really lovely property in great location."

House very well equipped in the kitchen and lovely garden area to sit out in. Very steep stairs in house. Would be good to get a gate out at the front of the house, busy road and we had a little dog we had to make sure was secure inside the house if front door was open. Same if there were small children. Marazion is lovely!

Thank you for your feedback. The owner is looking to get a gate fitted and the steep stairs are mentioned in the description. Glad to hear you liked the location of the house. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay and honestly if you had any weeks in August free we’d be back again."

My only suggestion is updating the pictures of your living room and the 3rd single room so potential guests can see you have a sofa and also an accessible bed in the 3rd room. I was worried at first that there wasn’t a sofa and you only had arm chairs. I’d also add a picture of the garden as it’s a nice space with direct sunlight. Lovely place to have a meal. Overall your home was lovely and extremely comfortable. It was so clean I was completely amazed. Normally I have to do some additional cleaning when I arrive at a holiday let but your place was spotless, warm and very cosy. Thank you.

  • "A very comfortable, well thought out cottage."

The stairs to the first floor are quite deep and steep. Outside the owners have made excellent use of the space, but again the steps into the garden are quite steep. My brother and his wife were going to join us but we put them off because he’s quite disabled and wouldn’t have managed too well. However David and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall. It was also lovely to enjoy the paintings and artwork in the cottage, there was a particularly lovely stained glass window. I would definitely recommend Sykes as your customer service was excellent, thank you.

Very spacious kitchen and really stunning cottage garden. The only downside was the lack of parking but it was a fantastic location and very comfortable bed and furnishings.

  • "Excellent cottage, had everything and more than we needed in the kitchen."

Spotlessly clean. Great yard in the back for an evening drink and to watch the stars.

  • "The cottage was great and was suitable for us as a couple and our small dog."

It was well equipped and perfectly located, and we would be more than happy to return. If I was to raise a couple of negative points, they would be that the garden area does need a tidy up and be made safer for families with small children and whilst the cottage sleeps up to 5, there were only 4 armchairs, and these were not very comfortable. 2 settees should replace them, especially as there is plenty of room in the lounge. Otherwise, it had everything we would want. The scones, cream and jam and fresh milk there on arrival was a nice gesture from the owners also.

  • "The house was very conveniently placed."

Couple of minutes walk to buses to Penzance or St Ives. Kitchen was clean with all essential equipment. If chilly electric radiators soon warmed the house up. The feed back book found same faults: Smell of damp but I suppose in an old stone cottage that is probably unavoidable, but was noticeable all the time even with windows open. Sitting room furniture could have been more comfortable as previous visitors have also noted. Bedrooms mostly comfortable except for one of the mattresses in presumably the main bedroom, one next to separate bathroom was very uncomfortable. Lever plug in shower room not working.
