Beds comfortable, well furnished, big fluffy towels and kitchen great. Lots of space and nooks and crannies to sit and relax. Slight issue as heating turned off completely and no access to switch so we struggled to dry waterproof coats when we had a wet couple of days. Rang Sykes and owners refused to switch heating on 'as its summer' so we had a very chilly night and couldn't dry things on radiators. Were advised to just use tumble dryer, but can't put waterproof coats in a dryer and they were still wet the next day. Thankfully the weather improved after this and no further issues.

The property

A double fronted detached cottage in the heart of Marazion just 2 minutes walk from the beach.

Imaginative renovation has transformed the interior into a super individually designed home with reverse level accommodation.

The first floor living room where pine floorboards, panelled walls and lofty apex ceilings with sturdy timber trusses create a stylishly open and spacious aspect.

The adjoining kitchen is beautifully fitted with hand-crafted units, and a separate reading room has access to a lovely balcony.

Downstairs the bedrooms are tasteful and comfortable, and children will adore the crows nest play den that is a novel feature of their room.

A luxurious bathroom with a lavish bath, tiled walk-in shower and twin basins completes the accommodation on this floor. The garden to the rear is an asset to this property.

It is secluded and planted lavishly with Tuscan palms, fig trees and any number of sub tropical plants and is ideal for evening barbecues.

On reaching the second terrace you will be rewarded by wonderful views of St Michael's Mount and beyond.

Marazion Beach, which is favoured among families for its safe bathing, lies a stone's throw from this attractive top floor apartment as does the village centre with its charming blend of galleries, curio shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes.

A 20 minute drive north-west will transport you to the fishing village of St Ives and the north coast, famous for its surfing beaches and dramatic cliff top walks.

For a holiday in a character property within easy access of Marazion's superb facilities, Penmeneth is a great choice.
