The property

A fabulously stylish barn conversion, The Lost Barn is tucked away in the idyllic grounds of the former landed Figg-Hoblyn estate near Mawgan Porth.

The owners of this Grade II listed property have taken great care in tastefully transforming the barn into a luxurious holiday home, fitted and furnished to the highest of standards.

On the ground floor is a generous sitting room with plush sofas, faux wood burner and dining area.

Elegant floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of natural light.

Just off the sitting room, a well-equipped kitchen with sociable breakfast bar and range cooker provides a homely hub in which to prepare delicious family suppers.

Stairs lead from the sitting room to the first floor, where there are two bedrooms and a family bathroom.

The bedrooms (one of which can be presented as either a super king or twin room) both boast beautiful high, beamed ceilings and unique pieces of antique French furniture.

In the bathroom, guests will find a freestanding Jacuzzi bath as well as a separate shower cubicle.

On sunny days, the property's terrace provides a lovely spot for a morning coffee; see if you can spot the Koi Carp in the ornamental pond.

Guests also have shared access to the property's orchard and paddock.

Blissfully peaceful and secluded, you are unlikely to see anyone else during your stay, perhaps only the property owners or guests of the adjoining barn, The Hideaway.

Out and about, this part of the county offers some fantastic surfing beaches, namely Watergate Bay, Fistral, Porth, Mawgan Porth and Holywell Bay ?

as well as some highly-acclaimed restaurants with famous connections; Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant at Watergate Bay enjoys a superb location just above the beach.

Choose to do as much or as little as you like at this beautifully magical retreat.

About the location

MAWGAN PORTH

Watergate Bay 2 miles; Newquay 5 miles; Padstow 10 miles.

Nestled between Newquay and Padstow on the beautiful north Cornish coast, Mawgan Porth is a sheltered cove with golden sandy beach, great surf and plenty of caves and coastal footpath to explore. With little distraction from its golden sands, life here revolves around the beach. Laze in the summer sun, learn to ride the waves, or watch over stormy seas on a refreshing cliff top stroll. Mawgan Porth is also home to the fabulous adults-only Scarlet Hotel, which offers Spa treatments and facilities to non-residents - and nearby Watergate Bay is the setting for Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant, which sits in a fantastic location just above the beach. Mawgan Porth has a handful of shops, including a village store and deli, and a farm shop selling locally sourced meat, eggs, vegetables, bread and pasties, as well as tennis courts, a pitch and putt, and an 18-hole golf course overlooking the Atlantic.
