This property is part of the Cornish & Devonshire Cottage Holidays collection.
Over 500 carefully selected and perfectly located Cornwall and Devon properties, helping you create your perfect holiday.

The property

This smart coastal residence sits atop the cliff overlooking the sea at fabulous Mawgan Porth, 5 miles from Newquay, Cornwall's surfing capital and just a 20 minute drive to Padstow.

With the beautiful sandy beach and the town’s amenities a 10-minute walk away and the famous Bedruthan Hotel on the doorstep, this makes a fine choice for a seaside holiday any time of the year.

The newly fitted kitchen is well equipped, off which you'll find a useful utility room.

The dining room with patio doors, large table and chairs is perfect for everyone to enjoy a meal together, after which you can retire to the comfortable sitting room with large sofas to relax and chat over a glass of wine.

A large, separate TV room with DVD player allows the family to spread out and enjoy freedom of space.

Two ground floor bedrooms, a double room with sea views and twin share a sparkling new bathroom.

Stairs leads to two further spacious bedrooms, a double room with a sea view and a twin.

These share a smart bathroom, with a bath.

Outside is a paved area to the rear of the property which is useful for drying and storing beach equipment, and to the front is a lawned garden with table and chairs - ideal for watching the sunset over dinner.

Mawgan Porth lies between Watergate Bay and Padstow, a lesser known cove than the busy beaches in Newquay.

It sits in an area of outstanding natural beauty and its sheltered beach is flanked by tall granite cliffs.

The famous South West Coastal Path can be picked up at the beach.

As with all the beaches in the area it's popular for its Atlantic rollers and ranked high among Cornwall's top surfing destinations.

There is professional surfing tuition and hire available on the beach for all ages with RNLI lifeguards in operation during the main season.

The beach is also dog friendly year round.

For days out, head up the coast to the pretty harbour town of Padstow or into the vibrant resort of Newquay where there are a whole host of activities on offer should you encounter a rainy day.

Whatever the time of year, a stay at Pepperpots is sure be a happy one.

About the location

No village

Chatsworth 1 mile; Bakewell 5 miles.

The pretty village of Baslow lies at the north end of stately Chatsworth House - home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. The village has many unusual and picturesque features including a triple-arched river bridge guarded by a toll house whose doorway is only 3 1/2 feet high! Baslow offers a range of village amenities including shops, pubs and restaurants. Close by is Bakewell, the capital of the Peak District, and home of the famous Bakewell pudding (definitely not tart!), still made locally to an old and secret recipe. Bakewell is at the scenic heart of the Peak District, and with Alton Towers also within easy touring distance, there is plenty for the whole family to enjoy.
