    Mrs Owen

“The apartment was extremely well equipped the kitchen facilities were brilliant and even had a slow cooker so we could come home to a lovely warm stew after a great day out.”

The owners were great with communication and even left local cakes and biscuits as well as an immediate fridge supply- just great!

The property

If you are looking for a wildly romantic, coastal bolt hole, this cosy barn conversion is the ideal getaway, perfect for couples, friends or a small family.

Peacefully tucked away, amid a cluster of granite barn conversions, surrounded by farmland, Fishing Buoy is a 10 minute walk down a steep footpath to Sennen Cove, a surfer and beach lovers paradise, famous for its Blue Flag beach, incredible waves and spectacular scenery.

Accessed by a flight of external steps you enter a coastal inspired living room with tall beams and exposed granite walls.

Warmed by a woodburner there is a dining area and an open ladder staircase that leads to the double bedroom on a mezzanine floor with low ceilings set in the eaves.

Leading off the living room there is a modern kitchen, shower room and twin room.

Outside a sheltered garden with seating and a BBQ and secure storage for surfboards and bikes.

If you prefer to eat out there is an excellent pub within a 5 minute walk and a number of pubs, restaurants and a super beach café at Sennen Cove where you can dine overlooking the beach.

The beach is patrolled by lifeguards during the summer and there is a surf school with hire and tuition on the beach.

A trip to the area would be incomplete without visiting the famous Minack Theatre an open-air cliff top at Porthcurno just over 3 miles.

Penzance, Mousehole and Marazion are less than a 20 minute drive as is the resort of St Ives.

Fishing Buoy is the perfect destination for a beach holiday at any time of year and is a wonderful getaway for families or couples looking to explore the far south west of Cornwall.

About the location

SENNEN

Land’s End 1 mile; St Just 5 miles; Penzance 9 miles.

The most westerly village in mainland Britain, Sennen has a lovely mile-long beach of pure white sand and is a very popular holiday destination. With excellent surfing conditions, the village has its own surf school – overlooked by a super-cool beach bar/restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows which make the most of the wonderful views. Once a hub of smuggling activity, Sennen still retains many secret passages – one of which is said to lead to the covered well in the Old Success Inn. Largely unchanged over time, this lovely village has a timeless appeal and is home to a gallery, a medieval church, an Iron Age fort and a small selection of shops where you can buy beachware, gifts and souvenirs, and a range of groceries. There is also a weekly Farmers’ Market in the village Community Centre each Tuesday morning. During the summer, the beach bar becomes a hub of activity and entertainment, with live music, weekly barbecues and popular surfing competitions.
