We struggled to find the apartment but were talked over the phone to find it which was a big help. Lovely surprise of local delicacies for us to enjoy. WiFi great, loved being able to connect to Netflix on TV. Kitchen very well equipped We had a couple of little issues which were sorted straight away. It’s an old building, damp issues however damp traps scattered around. Blind essential on the front door to block out light which has been mentioned on previous reviews On the whole a good stay

Everything we could wish for was provided, the apartment is really comfortable and warm, and it was spotlessly clean. I would highly recommend Potters and we would definitely like to return. I would also like to commend the owners Sue and Michelle. They sent a lovely welcoming message and follow-up call to make sure we were happy with the arrangements and the property, furthermore, it was a particularly lovely touch to arrive to a warm and welcoming home-from-home, complete with fresh flowers and a cream tea. Thank you!

  • "Really enjoyable stay in this comfortable property."

Close to Sennen Cove and Lands End. Great walking area and local pub just a few minutes walk away. Our only concern was that we had to ask (at the pub) to find the property as the directions could be better. Possibly to note turning left just before local shop after the roundabout.

They were over the moon with it. They even put up Christmas decorations, making it feel like home. The owners phone me on the day to double check everything was ok and give us additional info. I really cannot fault it. Loved the fact dogs were allowed, think they loved it and all the amazing walks they had. We had a pub meal in the village which was very friendly and the food was good.

The bed is very comfortable and the kitchen quite well equipped. It was cleaned to a good standard and the owners were helpful. The cream tea on arrival was much appreciated. The location is convenient for local buses and walking to Sennen but is let down by rather drab surroundings which don't seem well cared for.

The apartment is charming and beautifully decorated with everything you could need for a self catering break. It’s also spotlessly clean.we loved the beachy artwork . It’s set in a pretty development with a shared garden in Mayon . The owners Michelle and Sue are super friendly and phoned on the arrival day to make sure we had their phone numbers in case we had any problems and there was a nice cream tea waiting for us . They love Potters as much as we do . It’s the most beautiful place for a holiday with footpaths to Lands End and Sennen beach just across the road . The only problem is that a week isn’t enough time to stay at Potters so we are booking two weeks for next year. Thank you Michelle and Sue for a wonderful holiday .

  • "Directions given were inaccurate and sat nav took us to First and Last Inn."

We eventually found the cottage which is a second floor apartment on a complex of holiday and residential properties some of which are empty and being renovated. The apartment is lovely just as described and seen in the photos, very cosy and quaint with some lovely touches and everything you need to make your stay comfortable; we really appreciated the welcome cream tea. There is however a feel of damp which is being managed by humidifiers which need to be refilled with crystal blocks. The access to the property and communal space is quite run down and in need of a bit of care and maintenance. Overall an enjoyable stay with good access to walks and beaches.

  • "The cottage was adequately furnished and everything was clean and serviceable with some nice touches to the decor."

The staircase to the entrance could present some difficulties to the less able being quite steep and narrow and somewhat difficult when carrying suitcases. The key safe was problematic and took us several attempts to open it and upon leaving we failed completely to open it. Our one main concern was the amount of mildew in the bathroom. Which was obviously caused by lack of ventilation. Something that needs addressing before the situation becomes serious. On the plus side the owners are very caring over their visitors and there are some nice touches like a welcoming pack and a personal 'phone call from the owner on arrival to make sure that everything is OK. However we would certainly consider revisiting in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there despite very wet and stormy weather. Cream tea there on arrival, how nice and milk in the fridge. Loved the beach ornaments around too. Convenient store and fish and chip shop round the corner. Cleaned to COVID Regulations which was a great relief. Such a comfortable sofa to relax on at the end of the evening. • "The cottage itself was presented absolutely beautifully."

The owners had gone above and beyond to make the Appartment as homely and comfortable as possible. It was decorated in a very tasteful nautical style. The owners rang us on our way down to Cornwall and gave very clear directions to the property. We were greeted with a lovely cream tea, home made scones, clotted cream and homemade jam even the tea and milk was provided! There was very high grade antibacterial spray provided plus hand sanitiser. The Appartment was situated in a mixed residential and holiday let small stone complex just off the main A30 which made it really handy for exploring southern Cornwall. The only downsides were the slightly damp smell in the bedroom, the washer drier didn’t seem to function correctly and there was quite a bit of dust That had been overlooked in the nooks and crannies even though the rest of the Appartment was very clean!

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Potters by the Sea!"

Sue and Michelle have created a little gem here - it's been well thought out, it's modern and with everything that you'd need for a great stay. The decor is tastefully done too, it's stylish and it's very comfortable. Great care has been taken to get this right for the guests and they've done just that. The cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch too. What was also great was the courtesy call on arrival day, from Sue & Michelle, to see that everything was ok and to answer any questions that we might have. They were friendly and chatty - it's evident that they care for the property and the guests, really wanting you to have an enjoyable stay, which we did. You can access Land's End, the SW Coastal Path and Sennen Cove on foot, as well as getting on bikes - we went to a number of places including the stunning Porthcorno Beach and Mousehole. we really didn't need to use the car at all, which was how we hoped it would be. I would definitely stay at Potters by the Sea again, if we were to re-visit this area.

  • "Really enjoyed staying at Potters by the sea, although small it was comfortable and cosy."

On the brochure outlining facilities,it said there was a washing he place would have benefited machine we couldn’t find one. Also the place would have benefited from a freezer as shopping was a long way away , a freezer if only small would have been a help. where you are in Sennen you are quite a long way from anywhere so we found every time we went out it was a car drive away. But nice scenery and nice to be able to see the sea. We sat out in the garden most days as the weather was gorgeous. But a bit too remote for us.

Thank you for your feedback and we are glad that the sun was shining and you could enjoy the lovely scenery that Cornwall has to offer. We are sorry that you didn't find the combined washing machine and tumble drier which is located under the large breakfast bar (picture number 3)on the other side to the fridge/freezer in the left hand corner facing the seating area. If we'd known at the time, we would of course have helped with advise on the location of the appliances. However, we do thank you for your helpful feedback and aim to adjust the information booklet within the property to signpost future guests to the location of the washing machine dryer and the small freezer that is part of the integral fridge.' The house was spotless and so modern with a beachy feel, with lots of added extras like a yummy cream tea on arrival! It was in the perfect location, so close to the beach, pubs, shops and amenities, but offered a quiet a secluded get away that you can actually see the sea from! What more can you ask for! Everything was beyond hotel quality, and I have told my partner we definitely need new duvets and sheets after such a lovely nights sleep. The best of all was that it was doggie friendly which is a rarity to find in these parts, our little dachshund absolutely loved running in the waves, and she even had some treats on arrival which was very kind! I cannot stress enough that this is a true Cornish gem, and Michelle and Sue were so lovely when they spoke to us on the phone and so helpful, it really is a treasure we wish we had discovered sooner!

About the location

SENNEN

Land’s End 1 mile; St Just 5 miles; Penzance 9 miles.

The most westerly village in mainland Britain, Sennen has a lovely mile-long beach of pure white sand and is a very popular holiday destination. With excellent surfing conditions, the village has its own surf school – overlooked by a super-cool beach bar/restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows which make the most of the wonderful views. Once a hub of smuggling activity, Sennen still retains many secret passages – one of which is said to lead to the covered well in the Old Success Inn. Largely unchanged over time, this lovely village has a timeless appeal and is home to a gallery, a medieval church, an Iron Age fort and a small selection of shops where you can buy beachware, gifts and souvenirs, and a range of groceries. There is also a weekly Farmers’ Market in the village Community Centre each Tuesday morning. During the summer, the beach bar becomes a hub of activity and entertainment, with live music, weekly barbecues and popular surfing competitions.
