  • "Lovely light cottage with huge bathroom and beautiful large conservatory."

. We even had Alpacas in the field behind. We had fab weather and visited Lydford Gorge, Noss Mayo circular walk, Endsleigh House Gardens.....stunning.... £8 .....pay at Reception to get a sneak peak at inside and had coffee on the terrace on our return. You must visit The Garden House.....charming valley garden with good lunches and teas. Buckland Abbey gardens too. Boscastle..... walk out of Car Park along river and up onto coast path to Lookout and back down to harbour to miss the crowds and have an ice cream in NT shop....delicious. Minor issues were no dishcloth ,tiny scissors in kitchen and Welcome booklet needs to be more professional and not just hand-written. Please get a Mira shower as they are robust and don’t leak. Some flowers or pot of jam or something to welcome you would be nice. A great holiday........

  • "This was a fantastic cottage in most respects, apart from some very specific issues: 1) Refuse collection was unclear and confused us 2) Wifi & TV reception was poor 3) Location was from miles anywhere."

We tried the walk to the nearest pub, which was a bad idea, going through fields of bullocks, and the pub wasn't even serving food! 4) One of the beds was squeaky 5) The fridge smelt bad But those things aside, it was genuinely a really lovely place to stay! The conservatory was a lovely place to sit in the hot evenings, the bathroom & kitchen were just right for the four of us. It was nice to be in the quiet countryside away from a city too.

  • "The 3 people in our party had a good time at the cottage, although the second to last night one of us went to have a bath and found it started leaking into the kitchen!"

We advised the owners in the comments book. We have been having a shower each day so hadn't noticed, apart from that we had a good stay in a quiet cottage. S chard

  • "Had an absolutely perfect stay at 1 Arthur Cottages, peaceful surroundings and it was nice to come back from our day trips to a nicely presented garden for a bbq."

The cottage was well equipped, and everything was easy to find, wish we could of stayed a week longer but it was superb nonetheless. P. s. Just wish the pub was slightly closer but the walk to the pub was nice.

  • "We stayed at 1 Arthur Cottages twice this year during August and October."

It's a fantastic place to stay and being located on the Devonshire/Cornish border, equidistant from the north and south coasts making it convenient for sightseeing in both counties. The house is well appointed and the attached conservatory does provide plenty of space for relaxing after a hard days exploring. There are a few good pubs and restaurants located in nearby Lifton and while there is a small shop there too, the supermarkets in Launceston are only a 10 minutes drive away. We wish that we didn't have to give the property such 'high praise' as we'd like to keep it for ourselves. We will be back in 2019!

  • "The cottage, it's garden and peaceful rural location were all lovely and just what we were looking for on a get-away-from-it-all break."

The cottage was comfortable, well furnished and well appointed. The conservatory was great to sit in as the autumn evenings began to cool. We were greeted by quizzical alpacas in the field behind the cottage and a very friendly little cat from next door. A perfect base to explore Cornwall and Devon.

  • "We enjoyed staying in your cottage very much."

It was well situated, clean and comfortable. We were visiting friends in Tavistock and Plymouth so the location was really convenient. I must apologise though. We were expected to take the rubbish that had accumulated since the collection on Wednesday home with us, but unfortunately we couldn't as the car was full and also we weren't going straight home. The recycled rubbish in the blue box wasn't actually collected on the Wednesday so we had to leave that also. Hope we didn't upset anyone! We would certainly stay there again and also recommend it. Re question below. Please don't print the bit about the rubbish!!
