  • "The accommodation was as described and expected and was brilliant value for money."

It was well equipped, comfortable and ideal for two people and the location was fantastic. On arrival we discovered the TV didn't work. We rang the owner who offered to send some one to sort immediately but we were happy to wait and a new TV was fitted the following morning. We will definitely return. Don't be put off by negative reviews, some want 5* luxury for a budget price.

Thank you for your feedback much appreciated and we look forward to your return Regards Mark and Della Property Owner

  • "Well situated cottage, with potential to be a great holiday home, I think the owner is being let down by the standard of cleaning."

on arrival the floor was dirty, bathroom needed a good clean there are cobwebs in every corner of the bathroom and across the lights. The bedroom light does not work and plaster is falling off the walls in the bedroom and was in a heap under the radiator so it had obviously not been swept in there. We thought we would have a veiw of the harbour from the window but only had a view of a car that had parked in front of the window all week. The TV/Aerial/Channel/Remote did not work properly and we kept getting no signal or black screens. difficult to change the channels with the non responsive remote control. Altogether a disappointing stay and NOT good value for money.

Thank you for your feedback, we where unaware that you had any issues, we have sent your comments to the cleaning company as this is not what we pay for, Unfortunately we did not have any opportunity to rectify the issues on the day you arrived but thank you for making as aware via the feedback and we will arrange for the aerial/tv company that we use to rectify the issues Regards Property Owner

  • "The property was in a fantastic location, and had facilities such as the oven, fridge and freezer which was great to make home cooked meals a couple of times."

It was lovely to have a bench outside, and it was easy to drive into to off load our bags and pack up when we left. However the property wasn’t that clean unfortunately, behind the bed was really dusty and there were a lot of cobwebs. The sofa had bits on, and the glasses were sticky and had marks on them from people before. The main light wasn’t working either in the bedroom and the bed was really squeaky, we think some screws were loose and it was quire uncomfortable to sleep on.

!! Shower leaks over floor and curtains didn't fit properly as people cod see in. Need a curtain for glass main door again as people can look in

Thank you for your feedback, unfortunately most properties that close to the sea need protection against damp that’s why we have them running to prevent damp. We will have a look at the curtains as not sure what you mean about not fitting properly. Regards Property Owner

We would praise it and tell people to give it a try. The only negative thing about it is the cleaners could do a better job. John and Lynn, Farnworth, Lancashire.

Thank your for your feedback, we will send this to the cleaning company and hopefully they will act upon it. Regards Mark and Della Property Owner

  • "Property is ideally located but is tatty and in need of an upgrade and a thorough clean."

The floors felt like they hadn’t been mopped in a long while. The bedding inc. duvet, quilt cover and mattress protector were very worn, as were the towels. The fridge ice compartment was frozen solid and the door would not close. The bench outside the property is worn, with green moss on. I would not stay again and feel the property is very over priced.

Thank you for your feedback, we will send a copy of your concerns to the cleaning company and laundry company Property Owner

Adequately stocked facilities although could do with a lick of paint to freshen up cupboards and walls. Clean and tidy.

Good position on the harbour with entertaining views. No parking but does specify this. Noisy dehumidifier was the only negative but on a plus note we are going back again and looking forward to another stay.

  • "The cottage is in a great location-lots of walks nearby."

It lacks parking but there is long stay parking about 10 minutes walk away. The cottage is very tiny- but suits a couple. It is very tired- the floating floor needs replacing with gaps in the planks and the veneer peeling. The basin also leaks- they provide a squeegie for the shower but it leaves railway tracks on the glass. There is very few amenities- we had to buy toilet paper and dish detergent. The linen poor quality- the duvee/ quilt badly stained. There is a damp smell as well. Not value for money!

  • "Absolutely loved staying at Casa Del Mar and hope to visit again."

Lovely warm comfy dog friendly flat with excellent location in fabulous Mevagissey Harbour on SW Coastal path. However a few things to bare in mind; no parking at the property (was unexpected but not an issue in the end) and the 3 very noisy 24/7 droning dehumidifiers (gladly became tolerable white noise after a few days) but I feel both should’ve been mentioned by Sykes listing, note the Aerial/ TV/ WiFi temperamental & I couldn’t suss out the microwave, but neither affected my enjoyment.

  • "Great location but the accommodation is very tired and worn out I’ve stayed in various different rentals in mevagissey and this was by far the worst the kitchen cupboards have been painted but have chips and scuffs all over them the laminate floor is in desperate need of replacing the television aerial connection point was broken so signal on the tv was very poor and meant only channels 1 and 2 would work even then they where still crackling the WiFi was intermittent the shower fealt dirty as the grout had black mould the only positive I can say is great location, comfy sofa and a very comfortable bed with good linen."

The worst part is the three de humidifiers continuously running in such a small space it’s like a Boeing 747 taking off when your trying to sleep. Ive stayed in many cottages with Sykes and so far they have all been to a good standard with the condition of this property being below average I’m surprised they would even have it on there website sort it out Sykes.
