The property

A characterful cottage resting a mere stone's throw away from the picturesque harbour of Mevagissey.

Tucked away within a winding cobbled alleyway, Smuggler's Cottage promises to be a superb romantic getaway for a couple seeking to explore all of the delights of this fishing village and this endearing corner of Cornwall, boasting a magnitude of attractions and activities to suit a couple of all and tastes.

Upon entering the property, you are immediately charmed by the character of this cottage, rich with a history of smuggling and calming hues of blue and white to ensure a romantic haven for two.

Look forward to unwinding within the open-plan living room, where smugglers once dashed from the sea and accessed the cottage via the secret hatch.

Today, you and your loved one will find a brightly decorated space with carefully selected furnishings.

The kitchen comes with everything you could possibly need to cater your own delicious meals before you plan the next day's adventure at the dining table and tune into the Smart TV.

As the evening draws to a close, climb the open tread staircase to find a well-presented double bedroom, where you will be delighted to find characterful exposed beams and a well-appointed shower room.

Throw open the front door during a summer's morning, soak up the wonderful surroundings and stroll down the alleyway to discover the bustling harbour, filled with boats and a picture postcard scene.

From here, you will be spoilt for choice by the selection of pubs and restaurants that await you for those special occasions, as well as a choice of shops for picking up the essentials.

To enjoy a traditional Cornish getaway, hop onto a ferry and venture to Fowey or a short car journey will find you to the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Further afield attractions include the Tall Ships harbour at Charlestown and the glorious beaches on the Roseland Peninsula.

Smuggler's Cottage is a wonderful base for a romantic retreat to this part of Cornwall.

About the location


St. Austell 5.5 miles; Truro 16 miles.

The perfect Cornish fishing village, with winding cobbled streets and a picturesque harbour full of boats. Stunning walks lead along the coast in both directions, with sandy beaches, high cliffs and hidden coves to explore. The village has an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, whilst just up the road are the Lost Gardens of Heligan. A ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey also runs daily between Easter and September. Spend some time at the Tall Ships harbour at Charlestown (7 miles) with its shipwreck museum, or among the tropical biomes of the world-famous Eden Project (11 miles). The stunning coastline, fabulous beaches and renowned gardens of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula are a short drive down the coast while Truro, with its shops, restaurants, theatre and cathedral can be reached by car in half an hour.
