  • "A perfect cottage for a family holiday in Cornwall."

The house is very warm and homely, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with quality furnishings and nice artwork. We immediately felt at home and we loved the welcome basket with everything for a cream tea provided, such a nice gesture for tired travellers! The location is ideal for exploring the coastline with nearby St Agnes and Chapel Porth being our favourites, and Perranporth for surf lessons. We would certainly recommend this house for a cosy and comfortable family retreat.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Goshen Farm and hope you will return in the future. The Trenerry family, owners of Goshen Farm. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful property in an idyllic location, very peaceful."

The property was really clean and provided all the amenities we needed, rooms were spacious and comfortable, and we were left a tasty welcome gift. St.Agnes is a pretty village, the beach is not really suitable for young children and it is not accessible from the property with a pram due to the narrow roads. The Miners Arms is a very short walk and the food was excellent, they also have a good beer garden. We found Porth Towan beach which was great for children, only a short drive, good parking (before 11:30 arrival), rock pools, sandy park, cafés & toilets, much quieter than others as well. A really enjoyable stay, we loved the tranquility but be prepared for a lot of driving each day as very limited activities on foot.

  • "The house was perfect for our needs and everything provided that we requested and very clean and comfortable."

A lovely welcome package of fresh flowers and cream tea etc was a lovely gesture and much appreciated. There was some discrepancy with the rubbish and recycling information. Bags for recycling were mentioned but no sign of them anywhere, or how and if to separate them. There were three bins outside but not obvious which was which. Yellow bags provided for general waste but black bags were in the bin provided and pink in the waste paper bins! Also we would have appreciated a more comprehensive list of items provided as we brought some things that we didn’t need to and didn’t bring others we needed! Extra towels for bathroom hand towels should be provided too. The very late check in and very early checkout is really unacceptable and frankly unnecessary in the post covid time we are now in. We had a very full car so we’re unable to do a food shop until we had unloaded the car. We also had our baby grandson with us so the early checkout wasn’t ideal with everything else we were required to do. ( stripping beds shouldn’t be the job of guests) We loved the house but would be unlikely to stay again because of the distance to the village and beach. We have stayed many times in and around St Agnes and love to walk from where we stay to the village and beach and buy groceries locally. The extremely narrow lane back towards the Miners Arms wasn’t easy when it’s two way and was a diversion route for the main road closure made it pretty chaotic and hazardous outside the cottage. We were also told by the very kind neighbours that the space next to Goshen Barn directly opposite was a parking bay for the cottage but not until day 5! So had struggled parking two fairly large cars in the small drive. It would have been very useful to have been told this on arrival if not before! We appreciate that much of this is out of your control but perhaps will be useful to be aware of for future guests.

  • "Wonderful property with easy access from the A30."

The kids enjoyed a surf school (west country surf) at watergate bay only 30 minutes away although there are nearer beaches. Pleased we purchased wetsuits in advance although these were provided by the surf school. The property is set on a farm location so expected a few flies out when the cattle were close but these were fine. 2 showers came in useful after a day at the beach with good off-road parking. A30 currently has road works so worth setting off early and worth booking the miners arms in advance as it’s popular. Enjoyed the spacious and clean house and felt at home after day 1. Family and dog a great holiday - thank you.

  • "We had a lovely relaxing week at Goshen Farm."

The house was spotlessly clean and comfortable. It’s large bright and airy rooms were lovely and nice to see some period features had been kept. The welcome pack was very much appreciated and a lovely treat, it even included treats for our dog, very thoughtful. The location is so peaceful and only a short drive to some of the coastal towns. We enjoyed our cliff top walks taking in the magnificent views and some of Cornwalls mining history. A wonderful holiday thank you.

  • "We went to Cornwall with our adult children expecting to do so surfing, unfortunately in October the weather is not always reliable and there was a red flag on the beach every day of the holiday."

Nevertheless we had a great time in Goshen Farm and surrounding areas. The house is very well located and very welcoming and cosy, great place to come back to after a long walk. Very well equipped, luminous and spacious. We highly recommend this lovely farm and hope we can go back sometime soon.

  • "The cottage was in a lovely situation, but was not quite as we had expected from the description."

It had a damp quality on entering; it was not nearly as clean as it should have been and in comparison to other cottages, in which we have stayed. It was described as having two bathrooms and, while this was true objectively, the shower room downstairs was more of a cold cloakroom rather than a place where one would have wanted to strip down and wash. There was uncleaned mould all around the room. The cottage came on to the let market in around 2006 according to the information pack and not much appears to have changed since then. The duvets were old and "heavy" thus making sleep rather difficult. Fortunately, we were only four rather than six and staying there with six people would have been a bit of a squeeze. May I suggest that the washing line is moved to other side of the garden, where there is much more sun, as it spends most of the day in the shade. On a positive note, there was plenty of hot water and the bathroom upstairs was light and spacious with a good availability of clean large towels. The bedrooms were fine. The local area was lovely and the location of the house is fine for holidaying in this part of Cornwall. However, it is described as "a five-minute drive from the picturesque beach at Trevaunance Cove". It is actually a 2½ mile drive and takes a good 15 - 20 minutes along some narrow lanes, but the surrounding area is certainly worth visiting All of these issues can be easily overcome and, with greater attention, this cottage would give a better experience. We never saw or had any contact with the housekeeper. In our previous experiences, we have stayed in places, where there has been a private owner, who is interested to meet the guests and (i) be on hand to deal with any issues and (ii) give information on the locality. We were under the impression that this cottage is more under the control of a commercial company.

The kitchen was like home from home and my boys made themselves very comfortable in the front room. We were greeted each morning and evening by the cows which by the end of the weekend we had named them all. If you want a very comfortable stay in a peaceful surrounding then this is the place for you, thank you for a great weekend.p.s. There is a good pub 5 minutes down the road which is walkable from the cottage just remember a torch to help you get home.

Thoughtfully provided are maps and walking books on the local area and there are plenty of places to eat out. The house has everything you need for a ‘home from home’ experience including a welcome cream tea on arrival. Would definitely stay here again.

  • "Overall a very enjoyable holiday in a house that was convenient for our family and reasonable for the time of year in terms of price."

The house needs a thourough clean however, the carpets were dirty, we hovered as soon as we arrived, the sofas were dirty and the bathroom was covered in bugs, which again we cleaned up when we arrived. Appreciate the rural country location however there was also a problem with flies which was slightly off putting. The general comfort of the house is adequate and it was cosy but walls, skirting boards etc are scuffed and marked. The whole house needs a deep clean and redecoration in parts to keep it to a nice standard.
