  • "We stayed at the property whilst undergoing some renovations at home, the property was superb, beautifully furnished and everything you need."

In terms of cleanliness it immaculate and very COVID safe. The property is located in a quiet, peaceful country location, but if you were on holiday its situated in a great spot to enjoy what Cornwall has to offer. Perfect cottage, perfect for our needs. Plus, fabulous, friendly hosts too...

  • "Absolutely beautiful cottage, quiet location, comfortable bed."

Over the course of our stay there was nothing we needed that wasn’t supplied. Fully fenced off garden to let our little dog out without us worrying. The two amazing welcome hampers for us & our dog were exceptional. We weren’t ready to go home!

Everything about it showed attention detail and the finest quality. Location was quiet but not too far from Looe. Highly recommend ,

  • "Excellent cottage and a friendly welcome."

The human and dog welcome packs were above and beyond and much appreciated. The cottage was clean, light and airy and had an enclosed garden - perfect for the dog. The facilities were good and location was central to the areas we wanted to explore. The local pub (the Rod and Line) was also friendly and served good food. The only downside was the abundance of flies. There was no obvious source (bad smells for instance) but the presence of fly spray and a electric bug zapper suggests we weren't the first to have this issue. It didn't detract much from our stay though - it just meant we had to keep the bedroom door and window shut as much as possible. Overall - would definitely recommend.

  • "We found the cottage absolutely amazing and was so surprised to find everything we could ever need inside."

The cottage is lovely and we enjoyed sitting in the garden looking over the fields into the distance. The walk to the pub is lovely if you have the weather and is just enough to walk off the amazing food they serve. Just be careful of the traffic, and when we realised we forgot a torch for the walk back, we found one in the cottage. We couldn't have wished for a nicer place to stay during our week in Cornwall and will definitely look to book again in the future.

  • "Very small country road leading to property beware of oncoming farm vehicles as nowhere to pull over on approach, nothing in the village apart from a pub and butchers and quite a trek if you were to walk to them."

But a very good quiet base for travelling in the car to various other places.

The cottage, which has been furnished and equipped to a high standard, delivered what we had expected, and a great deal more. The owners, who made us feel very welcome, provided some lovely touches that we appreciated: a review of local beaches / pubs etc; a lovely welcome pack of local items; some binoculars to look at birds from the property.

We really cannot praise the place sufficiently. Easy to reach . Near enough to walk to the local pub for a meal handy for the A38 giving access to most Cornish points of interest. Ideal.

  • "My husband and I had a very enjoying break at Whitsand."

We were greeted by the owner upon arrival which was very nice. We had a lovely welcome and even a welcome pack for our dog. The back garden was private and enclosed, which was perfect and safe for our dog. We had a problem with the shower which was dealt with immediately. Could not fault anything at Whitsand and would highly recommend.

Lisa and Felix have done an amazing job to make the cottage Covid safe, whilst keeping it homely and brilliantly equipped. The cottage is ideally placed to get to the coast and inland attractions, and we really enjoyed food at the Rod and Line, and delicious pasties from the local butcher! Would highly recommend staying here.

It was well equipped and had lovely individual touches throughout. Our hosts were great, friendly and helpful. Our dogs enjoyed the garden which was secure and secluded. The cottage is in a great location for touring around both north and south coast and some good NT properties were close by. Sykes Cottages website was easy to use and the booking process easy with good email communication. We would definitely recommend and would love to return.
