  • "It'll do is a well appointed, comfortable holiday home that is ideally situated close to the beaches and coves of north Cornwall."

Whilst Mount Hawke has convenience stores and nearby eating pubs with good reputations, the proximity to several beaches frequented by the surfing enthusiasts is a added bonus. At It'll do, there is a convenient storage for surf boards, wet suits etc, and the secure rear garden is ideal for dogs. Matt and Sharon are welcoming hosts and the premises are clean, tidy, comfortable and very convenient for touring all parts of western Cornwall. Excellent WiFi and friendly neighbours. We really enjoyed our stay at It' ll Do.

Nice little walk through park to village shop and on to woodland walks. Beaches magnificent and dog friendly in October, possibly September also. Garden dog proof. Nice good food pubs nearby. Convenient location.

  • "Lovely week spent at It’ll Do with 2 teenagers."

Couldn’t fault the property at all, spotlessly clean and everything you could need there for a great stay. Lovely personal touches of flowers, milk and biscuits when we arrived. Loved Dad’s shed for storage of beach stuff. Just a short drive to Porthtowan beach but get there early to get a parking spot. Plenty more beaches along the coast though and all within 30 mins drive. It’ll Do is the perfect base for exploring Cornwall and we would not hesitate to stay there again!

  • "It'll Do was a perfect base for us to stay with our dog."

It was very clean, light and comfortable with a securely enclosed garden. The only thing that would have improved it (apart from a bit less rain!) was that the duvet was quite hot and heavy for the time of year. The location was quiet but well located to visit many beaches, villages etc We would definitely stay here again. Thank you we had a it lovely week.

The bungalow was really clean on arrival and had everything we needed for a weeks stay. The beds were super comfy and we have never slept so well! The garden was also very secure for our dog. There's a little shop close by to grab bits and bobs and a little children's play park 2 min walk away for our 2 year old. Will definitely come again!

Nothing is too much trouble. Their advice on places to eat was much appreciated. I found the kitchen well equipped on the days we ate in. The property is well maintained and scrupulously clean throughout. Touches like flowers and treats for us and the dogs made us feel very welcome. We would recommend It’ll Do to anyone

  • "We have just spent two very enjoyable weeks at ‘It’ll Do’ in what was the holiday we should have had in the same two weeks in June last year!"

It’s actually our second visit as we were there at the end of October last year when we were able to make an unexpected late booking after we had to cancel our normal October holiday in Cornwall, with our son and family due to the rule of six. For some reason Sykes were not allowing reviews at the time, probably because the internet was busy as the second lockdown came in while we were there. So, I can now report that we have spent two very enjoyable holidays there and that ‘It’ll Do’ is a great place to holiday all year round! On both visits I concur with all the reviews that say, ‘It’ll Do’ is spotlessly clean and a credit to the owners Matt and Sharon who are really helpful and welcoming. It has a nice garden which has been improved since our first visit with a new high fence and new gate, making it really secluded. We were fortunate to have good weather with a number of sunny days, so were able to spend time relaxing in the garden using the excellent new loungers and sun umbrella. We now spend all our holidays in Cornwall as my wife’s brother lives close bye and we would have no hesitation in returning to ‘It’ll Do’ in the future!!

  • "We’ve just had a fabulous week at It’ll do."

Information from the owner before our arrival was perfect and they were on hand to help point us the direction of garages when our car decided to break down on day 1!!!! The bungalow was immaculate when we arrived, absolutely spotless and there was a lovely little welcome gift on arrival.... even the dogs got a little something too! The owners have thought of everything..... the property is well equipped with everything you need for a stay away from home. It is located in a quiet residential area with a local shop and is a great base for getting around Cornwall. There are 2 gorgeous beaches close by.... 1 is within walking disctance (about 30 minute walk....but uphill coming back so bear that in mind!) The other is a 10 minute drive away. Also not far to drive to Crantock beach which is beautiful. We couldn’t fault our stay at all.... comfy beds, enclosed garden for the dogs, driveway for easy parking, washing machine for the beach towels....we highly recommend this property and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Thankyou Sharon, Matt and Podge for a lovely stay

It was in a lovely location as I was able to jog down to Porthtowan beach in minutes. The bunglow was clean, cozy and had everything we needed. The host left some added extras such as local shortbread, Buck’s Fizz to begin our Christmas Day as well as leaving a couple of gifts wrapped under the Christmas tree. I had to sleep in the bunk bed but it was still comfortable with good quality bedding. Plenty of storage for bikes or surfboard with a drive big enough for 2 cars. A great size front and back garden too. The only thing to report is that the Tv kept turning off or kept freezing . Tried to watch a film on a few occasion but had to restart the film a couple of times after turning the tv off at the wall. i would recommend this lovely bunglow and I would be more then happy to return.

About the location

Porthtowan 2 miles ; St Agnes 2.5 miles ; Truro 7.5 miles

Mount Hawke is a small village just outside St Agnes and Porthtowan on the north Cornish coast. Once heavily involved in the local copper mining industry, today Mount Hawke is quiet and mainly residential. There is a church which is dedicated to St John the Baptist, and a very good gastro pub – The Old School Bar & Kitchen – which is, as the name suggests, in a restored, traditional school building. There is also a Post Office, a couple of shops, a primary school, village park and Cornwall’s largest indoor skate park. Porthtowan beach is a pleasant walk from the village, through woodland and a pretty valley, and St Agnes Beacon and the coastal footpath are also within easy reach. Kayak hire and tours are available at St Agnes, as are surf lessons. There are also riding stables at nearby Goonbell, which offer countryside hacks and treks as well as pub hacks, summer picnic rides and children’s Pony Days.
