  • "We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage."

It's really comfortable! Everyone is so friendly. The local Red Lion pub does good food and drink. The walk down to Mousehole is easy enough with not much traffic. The footpath across the fields is challenging in parts! A bit overgrown so watch out! We used it as a base to visit St Ives and Sennen Cove. St Ives is much easier by train from St Erth. Thanks very much for having us!

  • "Lovely little granite cottage in a friendly pretty village."

The wood burning stove was great. We bought some wood in Penzance and it really made the downstairs cosy. Lovely seating area at the front of the property. The bathroom is compact but very well fitted. We loved it.

  • "We had a nice stay and the biggest problem was the weather."

The only slight negatives was the very tight roads in and around the property and parking was abit of a pain at times. The property had everything you need and beds we’re comfortable.

  • "Unfortunately there was a serious leak under the kitchen sink caused by a burst expansion chamber which meant that we had to shut the water valve off and deal with the initial emergency ourselves by disconnecting plugs which had been soaked through."

This left us without drinking water overnight and the fridge had to be disconnected. The property owner arranged for a plumber as quickly as possible for the next day but in the meantime we had to clean up the flooded units and kitchen floor our selves in the meantime and hot water couldn’t be restored until two days later as the plumber told us he had to order in the right part first. We allowed the sockets time to dry out before reconnecting but even then we werent confident from a safety point of view. Unfortunately this did effect our experience and given what the plumber told us about the condition of the part that had blown and the hot water unit we wouldnt feel confident returning to the cottage as nice as it is in terms of location cleanliness and comfort.

Thank you for your feedback. We have discussed the issues you encountered during your stay with the property owners. The owners advised us that after being informed of the leak they arranged a plumber as quickly as possible. The plumber fixed the problem on receipt of the ordered part and water supply to the upstairs of the property was unaffected while the issue downstairs was being resolved. All the appliances in the property receive regular services as per our guidelines. Unfortunately, occasionally such issues arise and we are sorry that this affected your stay. Property Owner

  • "Had a lovely stay in 3 trungle cottage my family also stayed in the next door property harvon Lea to celebrate my birthday."

The properties were spotlessly clean and are at a high standard of comfort. Paul is a great place to explore the area and whilst only a short walk from beautiful mousehole they are still situated far enough away to avoid what I imagine can be a fairly busy area of Cornwall during the holiday periods I would return to the properties in a heartbeat

  • "Lovely little cottage, good sound quality on the tv which was a pleasant surprise, location is superb for walking down to the harbour and accessing the stunning SW coast path."

Plenty of parking. Two nice bedrooms and all the facilities you would need for a stay - very good shower. I am quite tall and therefore found the sofas a little too small and didn’t check to see if there was a washing machine as we didn’t need one for the week we were there. Cottage was clean with no signs of disrepair

  • "The cottage was clean and well presented."

The little extras were much appreciated - milk, fresh flowers, games, DVDs and tourist pamphlets. It is well placed for visiting tourist spots and beaches and is in a quiet, pretty village where the neighbours are friendly and welcoming. The seats and table on the decking outside the front of the property are nice to use, especially on a warm evening. The passage to the rear of the property is a sun trap so is perfect for sitting out for morning coffee or for drying washing. All in all a good place to stay.

  • "We had a wonderful week at Trungle cottage."

The cottage was beautiful, very tastefully decorated, comfortable and inviting. It had a very well equipped kitchen and it was lovely to light the coal fire on an evening. The location was perfect for a walk down to Mousehole and within easy reach to other places of interest. The hosts left milk and some biscuits and a fresh flowers were a nice touch. Thank you. The stunning cove of Porthcurno is only 8 miles away and well worth a visit. The walk over the cliff tops from Porthcurno Beach to Porthgwarra It’s breathtaking and takes you past it’s secluded Cove Porth Chapel. This is definitely a place we will go back to.

  • "No washing machine even though it said it did Key collection is around the back, spent 30 minutes looking for it as not clearly stated Building works next door went on for 10 hours a day for whole duration Left early due to not be happy with facilities I asked owner about washing machine and had no reply, we didn’t bring enough clothes due to this Downstairs very cold even with radiator left on."

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry that the washing machine was not operational during your stay and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. The washing machine only recently broke down and a replacement has been ordered. We have now amended the key collection details, however this has not previously been an issue. We understand that one of our neighbours (two cottages away) may have been carrying out some exterior works and we will contact them regarding this. In addition to the radiator, there is a log fire available for guests' use in the sitting room for extra warmth. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage with plenty of warm, running water."

Well equipped. Cookies, milk and flowers were a nice touch. We appreciated the bigger quilt on the double bed! TV in bedroom seemed to suffer a lot with weather and we did not use it. We needed to buy matches and kindling to light the fire - we would have brought them with us if we'd known to do that. Beautiful location, plenty of walks and we love the immediate locality. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Parking at cottage not always easy - got our car scraped by unidentified passing vehicle when parked outside the cottage. Dog owners need to be aware there is no garden at the rear. However we enjoyed our visit immensely.

The cottage itself is very comfortable with a lovely log burner. My only suggestion would be a slimline dishwasher would be very useful in the kitchen as the hot water doesn’t last very long when trying to wash up!

  • "Lovely cottage in a peaceful and beautiful location."

A perfect hub for exploring all that the furthest reaches of Cornwall have to offer and within walking distance of the picturesque harbour town/village of Mousehole, which has plenty of things to do without being quite so frenetic as some of the other tourist locations. Also a short walk to Newlyn, which is a working harbour town and very near Penzance so plenty of everything. Will definitely be back if possible

  • "This is a lovely cottage, proper home from home."

But it is in a village called Paul, not Mousehole. Mousehole is a good 20minute walk away down a very steep hill which is even steeper on the way back once you’ve eaten a big tea and had a drink!! Not a problem if you’re fit! Parking is very limited in Mousehole so taking the car is not a good option.

The property

Half a mile from Mousehole, arguably the prettiest of Cornish fishing villages, are Trungle Cottages.

Dating back to the 18th century, No 3 is mid-row and has been beautifully restored to become an inviting holiday home.

Enter through stable doors to a bright kitchen and dining area with tiled floor, off which sliding doors lead to the cosy living room, heated by a wood burning stove set in a feature stone fireplace.

From the kitchen, steep stairs lead to two bedrooms, a stylish double room and a bunk room with double and single over - they share a shower-room.

At the front of the cottage is a decked seating area, ideal for 'sundowners' after a day of exploring the area.

Number Three is in an excellent location, handy for walking the Coast Path and a five minute stroll from a pub.

Just down the road, neighbouring Mousehole (pronounced 'Mouzzle' by the locals) has a selection of shops and good places to eat around its historic harbour.

Further afield at Newlyn, you can watch the fishing fleet landing its catch, or spend a day exploring Penzance and St Michaels Mount.

Take in a show at the internationally renowned Minack Theatre, a superb open air venue perched high on the cliffs, or at Lands End you'll find fun for all the family accompanied by breathtaking sea views.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
