  • "Couple of small issues."

Some of the rugs were very slippy and some had upturned corners, both issues are of a safety concern. Other small issue, curtains over the two side windows in the main bedroom would stop the light coming in at edges, which the blinds do not stop. Apart from that, a lovely property too which we will return, thank you

  • "We absolutely loved Harbour Lights."

For once the photos did not do the house justice!! It was well equipped and everything functioned well. Worked very well for four adults on girls trip away. The house is brilliantly positioned just outside the narrow streets of Mousehole overlooking the sea. The parking at the rear is a tad scary, but out of season you can park on the road. We used the little bus between Mousehole and Penzance a few times which was rasy and really good value. We had already read the reviews about the loo seat so approached it with caution!! We would definitely re-book this house and recommend to friends.

  • "We have been three times now and have already booked for next Easter because all of us love it."

The house is lovely and the views onto the sea amazing. A shame that the price has gone through the roof- I do believe the summer rental price in particular is totally unreasonable - I can book an all inclusive for the whole extended family for that price I would guess… really a shame…. Anyway, we DO love the house for our extending family and can’t wait for our grandchild going on an Easter egg hunt in the beautiful garden. In practical terms: non-stick pans would be useful- had to abort my pancaking session to quickly nip out to the supermarket in Penzance to buy a good pan…

Thank you for your kind comments and we are delighted that you so enjoy staying at Harbour Lights. I am so sorry about the non stick pans as they were all replaced in February and must have been subsequently damaged by guests. I am delighted that you are returning next year! Property Owner

  • "Lovely house with a well thought out living area in a stunning location."

Lots of walks nearby (both coast and inland) and great pubs nearby. Only issues were a very tired mattress in the main bed (went to find another room after the first night), some general maintenance and a lack of comms leading up to arrival - an old housekeeper number was provided, then no comms. Also be aware if you have a low car the angle of the drive could ground the car - knowing what I know now I'd have left it on the main road side.

We loved sitting on the balcony watching the boats, seals and paddle boarders. It’s a very easy walk down to the harbour, lots of good places to eat and have a drink. We would def recommend a stay here and hope to return soon.

  • "Harbour Lights is a comfortable cottage in a fantastic location."

It was spotlessly clean inside but we did have to clean down the outside furniture before use. The cottage is obviously well used (as it should be given its excellent location) and some furnishings like the pillows could do with being replaced. The detailed listing correctly described the cottage layout but the headline fact that it had 3 bathrooms was incorrect. It has one bathroom, a shower room, without WC, and a cloakroom, at best summarised as 2 bathrooms.

Thank you for feedback which we always welcome. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and found the property comfortable. We have checked your comment regarding bathrooms and although the property details do state 3 bathrooms at the top of the page, a little further down, in the amenities description, one bathroom is stated as being a shower room. Really easy to find, great for parking, didn’t have any issues. Property is situated right by the sea and plenty to do. There were restaurants and a bar a short walk away. Plenty to do in and around the area. Would love to come back to Harbour Lights and stay here again! 100% recommend to anyone.

Had previously been in summer so it was nice to feel the heat from the central heating this time round. Lovely bunch of daffodils and tea and biscuit and bottle of milk were also most welcome on our arrival. A lovely place for family reunions- already booked for next Easter!

Pleasant cheerful decor and well equipped kitchen. Lovely welcome with gifts, thank you. I hate to be critical because it is a wonderful property but I feel it was let down by the main bedroom which needs an update especially the pillows.

Thank you for your feedback. We have never had any comments about the pillows before, and this is partly down to personal preference. It can be very hard to cater for everyone. We are sorry it did not suit you on this occasion. Property Owner

Great location. Could do with new mattresses but other than that all good. Sadly due to exorbitant increases in prices it is now unlikely we will be returning any time in the near future and have found alternative accommodation for 2022 (we would normally go at least twice a year).

  • "Great location, stunning property, nicely furnished."

Minor points: we struggled to watch TV on the very small screen, a larger screen would be helpful and in keeping with the standard of the house. The floorboards in the hall and twin room near the front door creak terribly, they need screwing down like the rest of the house.

Thank you for taking the time to send us your review. We are glad that you found the location, and property stunning, the views are amazing! We can confirm that the TV has been replaced for one with a larger screen. We look forward to welcoming you again, Property Owner

A very welcoming arrangement of flowers , tea, coffee , sugar . milk and clotted cream shortbread waiting for us did not expect with the current covid restriction's know the check in was later in the day but as we could park up and explore Mousehole this was not a problem. Did read on one of your other reviews that parking was difficult there due to the narrow lane behind but don't let that put you off as we did not meet any other cars when we were coming and going from the property. The house is light, spacious and very clean. There is an easily accessible private parking space on the lower road (with access to the house via several garden steps) or additional parking behind the house accessed via a narrow lane. The 3 bedrooms are all large and share access to 2 good quality bath/ shower rooms and an additional toilet. The house was well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable holiday. • "Harbour Lights is a spacious, well equipped house in a fantastic position."

It is very well maintained and it was lovely and clean. The views across Mounts bay from the balcony were wonderful, with lovely sunrises and beautiful moonlit nights. It is within easy walking distance to the picturesque harbour where there are several galleries and shops and places to eat and drink if needed. It is served by a very regular bus service to Penzance via Newlyn, which means you have no need to worry about parking, which as many will know, can be difficult in this part of the world, particularly during the summer months. I would not hesitate to recommend Harbour Lights to anyone and look forward to returning there in the future. I would also like to mention the excellent service from Sykes Holidays, very efficient and helpful.

Also thought the mattresses pillows ect substandard given the price of the property, The tv could have been at least 45 inches - family wanted to watch some movies in rsi Rh days and it was entirely too small, The style of decorating was lovely,

We came back after a nine year break, complete with grown -up daughters and hangers-on. Better than we all remembered it and we had a fantastic holiday. The lady who looks after the cottage was very helpful (I had to phone her to fid the cutlery! It’s in a drawer within a drawer below the hob!) and keeps the place spectacularly clean and tidy. Cream tea, milk and butter all in the fridge waiting for us. We are still debating whether Sting did actually stay there back in the ‘90s!!! (See previous visitors books!) jury still out....!

  • "Loved harbour lights."

Outstanding views. Property was well equipped and comfortable. Lovely décor. Parking: although plenty of space at back of property could be tricky for some people. Although lane down from property is narrow we did not encounter any problems. There is also one space that could be used on front. Loved the wood burner in middle of room although the property was well heated if you didn't want to use the log burner. Pipes are being laid on the road just as we left which could be a nuisance for coming guests. Many of the shops restaurants are closed for season in Mousehole but the little post office/shop is open and was handy for forgotten bits and bobs and within easy walking distance as is the Ships Inn which serves good pub food. Would recommend Geevor tin mine on a guided tour as we found that very interesting. Also a trip to Falmouth was good. Some exceptional coast line around that part of Cornwall and Lands End for walking.

We hope to return for many more years because we enjoy it so much. Situated in the charming fishing village of Mousehole, it has all the ingredients for a great holiday. All the rooms are good size, light and airy with windows and sliding doors providing ever changing views of the sea, Saint Michael's Mount, the Lizard and the hardy fisherman in their boats who brave all weathers. The house and the garden are well maintained. The large balcony/deck provides a fun place to eat outside and further enjoy the views. Parking, which is a much valued commodity in Mousehole, can accomodate 3 cars. The Mousehole Harbour, first class restaurants, cafes and a local shop/Post Office are within a short walk. Our favorite activity is to walk along the beaches and cliffs in the area, but there are a multitude of other family activities to be enjoyed.

Situated on the edge of this charming village and built into the side of a hill, the top floor boasts a fabulous open plan living area where the whole family can spend some quality time together.

Light and bright the sitting area will tempt you to relax and unwind but first, slide open the patio doors and step onto the balcony and exhale as you take in the fabulous views.

Walk to the modern kitchen area and you will find everything you need to prepare tasty treats.

With its high open beamed ceiling and feature fireplace and chimney this area is the true hub of the house.

The three lovely bedrooms offer plenty of space and sea views with the two bedrooms on the lower ground floor benefitting from the luxury of patio doors leading out onto the terrace, ideal for that early morning coffee.

Bring your binoculars and watch the constant procession of fishing boats and yachts passing by just yards from your front window.

Bursting with original character, charm and beauty, Mousehole is a tiny fishing village with a picturesque harbour surrounded by narrow streets housing art galleries, gift shops and restaurants.

In the harbour itself you will find a safe, sandy beach at low tide.

This is a wonderful place to spend your vacation, however if you wish to tour the area, Penzance is a short drive away, along with Lands End - definitely a photo moment, and the amazing St Michael's Mount or why not pack a Cornish picnic and take in a show at the open air Minack Theatre.

A superb house for making those cherished family moments together.
