Bathroom - the light over the washbasin does not work, probably the bulb needs changing, and the plug in the basin needs adjusting because it fails to keep water in the basin. The torches provided in the bedrooms need new batteries- fortunately I took my own torch! The local general (food) store is excellent. It had everything, and more, of what is needed for a self-catering holiday. Highly recommended. Visitors beware. In spite of the 20mph speed limit throughout the village traffic is FAST! Also parking outside the cottage at school times (dropping and picking up) makes access to the narrow cottage entrance difficult.

Briony Cottage is a charming detached traditional family house on two levels, close to the centre of Mylor Bridge and the creek.
Step in to the reception hall and to one side is a living room and the other side, a dining room with French windows to the garden.
At the back of the cottage is the neat fitted kitchen with beamed ceiling and a small utility room with a back door.
Head up the stairs to the two bedrooms, a king-size double and a twin, both with views over the garden and distant countryside; spacious family bathroom.

A sought-after and picturesque village at the head of Mylor Creek that runs up from the Carrick Roads, the World’s third largest deep water harbour. Boats and sailing, wooded creeks, softly gliding water, riverside pubs and fabulous gardens epitomise the area. This friendly village has a superb selection of local shops (try the fresh fish!), a Post Office, a good pub and several restaurants within easy reach. The nearby harbour town of Falmouth with its exciting Maritime Museum and its castle, beaches and marina makes a great day out while the Cathedral city of Truro famous for its cobbled streets, theatre, museums and vibrant shopping centre should not be missed. Take the car, or a boat from Falmouth, for a trip up the stunningly beautiful Helford River and while there, call in at Glendurgan and Trebah Gardens for the horticultural treat of the year. The area is perfectly placed too for exploring the rugged cliffs, sandy coves and fishing villages of the Lizard Peninsula, also The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are both within an hour’s drive.
