  • "Born and bred in Falmouth, I have visited Cornwall many times over the years and stayed in a lot of cottages and I must say Woodbine Cottage is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in."

Spacious with room for 8 people, the cottage has a nice balance of comfort and practicality. The lounge/diner was cosy with plenty of seating for our party and the kitchen was very well equipped. The 4 good sized bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 3 WCs, were key in our decision to book the cottage. It was good to be able to enter the cottage via the large utility room and to be able to remove dirty outdoor clothing and use the handy downstairs bathroom before entering the living areas. There was plenty of off-road parking for our 2 cars and a lovely secluded patio area with seating and a fire pit. On our arrival, the cottage was a little cool, but the underfloor heating and panel heaters soon had it lovely and warm. Regrettably, it was not cold enough to warrant firing up the woodburning stove. Must come back in the winter and try it out. The cottage is set in the beautiful village of Mylor Bridge which has everything you could want. There is a lovely pub in the village serving Cornish ales and an extensive menu. The village has two shops including a post office, a butchers and a fresh fish shop. There is a large well equipped play park for children of all ages. The scenic walk from Mylor Bridge around the headland to Restronguet Creek and the Pandora Inn with its floating jetty, is not to be missed. Close by, the town of Falmouth offers a bustling town centre with plenty of restaurants and shops. Falmouth has several good beaches. Pleasure boat cruises on the Fal and Helford rivers are a great way to take in the coastline. Within a short drive, you can access the world class visitor attractions of The Eden Project, St Michaels Mount and The Lost gardens of Heligan. Despite the inclement weather, we managed to fit in a visit to the Eden Project, a Fal river cruise, a walk to the Pandora Inn and several trips to the beach. We had a great holiday and look forward to staying in Woodbine Cottage again in the near future.

This delightful, detached, dog-friendly cottage boasts a spectacular location close to the endless wonders of Cornwall and its picturesque coast as well as a charming interior with period features paying homage to its creation in the 18th century, four beautifully appointed bedrooms and a patio with furniture; the perfect setting for families or friends looking to explore all Cornwall has to offer.

Return from your day of sightseeing and enter into your new home-from-home, stepping straight into a living/dining room with a crackling woodburning stove at its heart; the perfect place to unwind.

Later, head into the fully-equipped kitchen where you can help prepare a delicious meal to be enjoyed around the dining table or alfresco at the patio furniture, if the weather permits!

When the evening draws to a close, wash off the day in either the ground-floor wet room, which can be accessed via the utility if you have been swimming, or a refreshing shower room on the first floor.

When it comes to catching your rest; choose from a king-size with TV, perfect for lazy mornings, a double, a twin and a small twin well which has a single bed with a full-size pull out bed.

If you can tear yourself away from this delightful abode, just opposite the park is a children’s play area or take a short stroll into the heart of Mylor Bridge where you can stock up on necessities at the local store, butchers and fishmongers, with the latter two having seasonal opening hours.

Treat your loved ones to delicious food in the stone-built Lemon Arms; alternatively, take a short drive to the famous Pandora Inn, a thatched pub dating back to the 13th century, and dine there.

The coast is also easily accessible, venture into the idyllic coastal town of Falmouth to enjoy days upon Castle Beach where you can splash around with the kids in the rock pools, or continue along the coast to bask in the sun on Gyllyngvase Beach where you can partake in kayaking, swimming or simply admire the unbeatable views across the sea.
