  • "Mattresses and pillows were too soft had difficulty getting a good night’s sleep."

Plenty of crockery provided but other items missing in order to cook ( could not afford to eat out every day!) A measuring jug would have been useful as would a tin opener that worked! Otherwise a lovely cottage in gorgeous surroundings.

  • "We spent 5 nights at this wonderful cottage and wouldn’t think twice about recommending it to anybody."

We were greeted by the owner Anna, who was very helpful and welcoming. There was a lovely cake waiting for us and the dinner table had been laid which was so thoughtful, the log fire had also been lit in the lounge room. This cottage is by far the best place we have ever stayed in, it has been superbly furnished in keeping with the period of the cottage. Nothing looked out of place and we loved the extensive selection of books in various rooms. If you are looking for peace and tranquility you will find it here, we will definitely be returning.Nikki & Martin

  • "Good cottage, very remote and peaceful."

Nice spacious garden, and a lovely stream at the back of the garden. Cottage itself is reasonably clean but does show its age in a few places - you could say this adds to the charm. The main issue is access to the cottage. The path is so narrow and so overgrown with bushes that a normal size car wouldn't fit. I had scratched my car going to and from the cottage just over 5 days. The description on the website should be updated to reflect this in my view - it is impossible to access the cottage without scratching the paint all over your car.

However, the Cottage was a perfect tranquil location.

  • "Foxgloves cottage offers complete relaxation, this rustic cottage is what I call “out of the way” if you want quiet I think you’ll hard to find another cottage so peaceful, surrounded by woods it has a large garden with bbq, table and seating for 6 persons and an added extra of a small stream at the bottom of the garden which adds a ambience atmosphere especially at night with the bedroom windows open."

Just one note the roads to the cottage you will find a bit tight especially for suv size cars. On arrival you will be friendly greeted by Anna who will give you the run of the cottage give you advice on the area shops, restaurant etc. We found the cottage well equipped for us and a bonus tea, coffee, milk and a lovely cake and surrounded by fresh flowers which we found a nice touch. We would like to say thank you again for a memorable relaxing peaceful holiday and to say if these tick your box I feel you won’t go wrong with Foxgloves. Paul & Susan

  • "The Cottage is in a very peaceful location."

It is just as you would expect a Cornish cottage to be, quirky stair case, beautiful fireplaces and flag stone floors. The owners are very friendly and helpful, once they show you the property they leave you alone to enjoy your holiday. The cottage is clean and tidy, it has all the facilities you will need for a self catering stay. The WiFi was very useful, we used it to check weather and book online tickets to tourist places. The garden if great for warm evening BBQ or a glass of wine/beer or cider, the running brook at the bottom of the garden (fenced off for safety) provides a relaxing sound. There is adequate parking just outside the front door. I was dying to start up the log burners but the end of July was too warm (even for the cool wet summer of 2017). We found this cottage to be a very good base for the resorts on Cornwall's south east coast, Looe was a super find, with enough attractions for a young family, the beach was clean and sea safe to swim in, also rock pools galore to explore. Eden Project less than 30 minutes. It is also not too far from Cornwall's north coast, we loved Padstow's sea life safari and Tintagel Castle both 50 minutes away. The large lounge would benefit from a larger screen TV and fabric sofas (Personally I am not keen on leather sofas) Be warned that the roads leading to the cottage are very narrow and you need to remember where the passing points are when you meet on coming traffic, thankfully that is not too often. Not sure if a groceries delivery van can make it to the cottage?

  • "The cottage was wonderful."

In a perfect, tranquil place to be. We had a lovely garden for the dog and to relax in ourselves. We spent some lovely sunny hours in there. Behind the cottage is a stream and a great walk through the field and into the woods. The welcome in the cottage was very warm. There was tea and cake waiting for us and the landlady gave us a tour through the cottage to explain everything. The cottage is very well equipped and very clean. In the evening we had a fire in one of the woodburners. This gave a cosy warmth. There's lots to do in Cornwall. We weren't able to do everything we'd have liked to do, so we will certainly be back in this cottage some time!
