  • "Comfortable cosy cottage, well equipped kitchen and pleasant furnishings."

Bathrooms fairly basic but functioned okay. In a quiet location with well maintained surrounds.

  • "As previously mentioned there was not enough information re surrounding areas, places to walk, visit and eat etc."

There needs to be shelving in en suite as nowhere to store personal items. The pole left to close window blind didn't work as nothing for it to adhere or connect with. Other than mentioned cottage was faultless, idyllic location.

Thank you for your comments, we will look into the issues mentioned. We hope to welcome you back soon. John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owners Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage and well equipped."

Spotless. Just a few suggestions…. Bedrooms - wardrobes could do with shelving as not enough storage. Banging/knocking! The attached private barn has a banging/knocking noise coming from it. Perhaps a pump or pipes. It started mid week and increased to every few minutes. We were out throughout the day so not a problem but this continued through the night and unfortunately not resolved prior to our departure. Would be helpful for the next guests. Bluebottles! An excessive amount from day 1 - not sure why - could do with a fly trap. Surroundings - beautiful - advertise them more on where to approach and make the most of them. Leaflets - suggestions on where to eat and things to do. We are familiar with Cornwall but the cottage could do with these little touches. It really is a lovely comfortable cottage, relaxing and peaceful. We hope the above suggestions only help to improve it.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the property and it's surroundings. We are sorry to hear that there were maintenance issues, your comments will be raised to our maintenance team. • "Lovely property and all in all well maintained."

Very clean and all the facilities you need for a comfortable saty. We had a great week. Couple of pointers.. Need a pole to close VELUX blind in bedroom or you need to be over 6ft and standing on the bed on top of 2 pillows. This has been mentioned on previous feedback. Smallest of all bedrooms was made into the double. This makes no sense as hardy enough room to get out either side. If you don't want dogs upstairs please provide a proper stair gate, as the one provided is too low and easily jumped over. Maps and local walks would be good as there are lots on your doorstep.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your stay, we do glad you hear that you found the property lovely, we are currently in the process of handing out information packs into the property to give guests a guide to the surrounding areas, we do hope we can welcome you back to North Cornwall again soon. • "Kitchen and equipment excellent."

En suite bathroom would be improved by shelving or cabinet for toiletries and shower didn't function properly. A downstairs loo would have been a great addition. Skylight in back bedroom had no pole to cover the light with blind. So light bedroom very early. Loved the welcome package... very much appreciated.

  • "A lovely cottage."

It was spotless, well equipped and comfortable. The site is rural and quiet, and the cottages are well spaced out. The welcome pack was nice but a bit limited - remember to bring tea bags, milk and bread. The cottage is a great base to reach the north coast - Boscastle, Port Isaac and Padstow are close by, as are many beaches and coastal walks.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It's great to hear that you had such a fabulous stay at Courtyard Cottage and had the perfect base to explore the local area from! - John Bray Cornish Holidays on behalf of the owner. Property Owner

  • "Upon arriving at the cottage, we were bowled over by the level of care which had obviously gone into presenting the holiday let, especially given that the proprietors had received our booking at last minute due to a change in circumstances."

The cottage was fresh and contemporary with cosy traditional touches such as warm sofa throws and wonderful views onto an internal grass courtyard shared by just the surrounding handful of properties. It was perfect for the children and the dog and there was a wash facility for the dog to ensure peace of mind when stepping into the property after long invigorating walks through the on-site woodland and fields. I would wholly recommend the property and we, ourselves are looking forward to returning at the next opportunity.

About the location

DELABOLE

Tintagel 3.5 miles; Camelford 3.4 miles; Port Isaac 5.3 miles.

At one time the producer of the world’s best quality building and ornamental slate, this now sleepy village is just 2.5 miles from the high cliffs and dramatic scenery of the north Cornish coastline. Perfectly placed for walking the South West coastal path, exploring the high places of nearby Bodmin Moor, or for lazing on the beach at nearby Trebarwith Strand, it’s a well-placed holiday base. The peaceful harbour village of Port Isaac and the town of Tintagel, with its tourist attractions and King Arthur’s legendary castle, are both a short drive, while the stunning surfing beach at Polzeath is a mere nine miles away. Slaughtersbridge, where King Arthur reputedly fought his last battle, is five minutes away and a drive north along the coast takes in the beautiful cove at Crackington Haven. An area away from the main tourist crowds, but very central to a vast array of places and activities. Delabole Quarry itself is just down the road and is an interesting tourist attraction with stunning views. It is the gateway to great countryside walks.
